WHAT TO WEAR

Valeria woke up the next day feeling energetic, dinner went well and her father accepted that she should go to the party. Another thing making her so happy is that Miss Esmeralda texted her back, she felt so accomplished to realise that the career lady texted her back.

@Esmeralda [Good morning valeria and I love the sound of Raldy maybe I'll just call you Val then.So how was things with your mum? She seemed a little bit upset the last time I talked to her]

@Valeria [Good morning Miss Raldy we talked it out and she solved the issue between I and my father]

@Esmeralda [Okay! That's so nice so have you talked to your boyfriend?]

@Valeria [Yeah I actually did but he still won't tell me what's between him and Shelby]

@Esmeralda [Oh! So what's his excuse?]

@Valeria [He said she's like that. The two times I asked him he said the same thing]

@Esmeralda [Is she like that to everybody that should be the question]

@Valeria [He should keep lying to himself because I'm not believing that crap he told me]

@Esmeralda [As I have said the other night, Valeria communication is key to every relationship, you have to talk to him about it. You have to know the truth if he has something to do with Shelby or not, she can't be creepy with everybody like being creepy. There is more to it]

@Valeria [Same thing I thought Miss Raldy but if he's not going to talk, I don't think I Should force him]

@Esmeralda [But you still need to communicate Val, if you really want the relationship to work out]

@Valeria [I really do want the relationship to work out but with no pressure if he's going to tell me about it then fine but if he doesn't then I don't want to force him]

@Esmeralda [That's a great decision but I really hope he will come out talk to you. You know you can't live your whole life in school with somebody that stalks you especially when you want some alone time with the man you love]

@Valeria [I get what you're saying Miss Raldy but I also don't want to put pressure on him]

@Esmeralda [Enough of that so anything new?]

@Valeria [Yeah! This my talkative roommate invited me so her parents wedding anniversary and farewell party for her and my father allowed me to go. I don't even know what I'm wearing tonight]

@Esmeralda [Oh that's so cool! Do I have to pick an outfit for you? What's the theme girl?]

@Valeria [She said wear anything in the wardrobe, style your wardrobe in her words]

@Esmeralda [Oh so it is a dress up theme! Do you have few clothes in your mind that you want to wear? If yes then bring them to the restaurant let's pick some for you]

@Valeria [Yeah I do. There's this new clothes my mother got me and I really love it. There's this old clothes of mine that is my favourite so I would bring it to the restaurant in 30 minutes]

@Esmeralda [Can you bring it later in the evening like when it's close to the party time? So you can dress from here and go to the party. I will drop you off]

@Valeria [Really? That's cool. Thank you so much]

@Esmeralda [Okay then, see you later, have a nice day]

@Valeria [Thank you for creating this much time to talk to me....I feel really honoured, see you later]

"You've been chatting all morning Valeria. Let's go get you something to wear to the party tonight" Geraldine said from the kitchen and Valeria drop her phone startled

"You startled me mother" Valeria said walking up to her mother in the kitchen

"You have a party tonight basically your first party alone and you've been sitting there chatting with almighty knows who" Geraldine said looking at her daughter

"It's Miss Esmeralda and she will be helping me with my outfit for tonight party" Valeria said smiling

"Am I really your mother anymore? I didn't get to decide your business idea and now I can't get to choose a cloth for your first party alone" Geraldine said feeling left out

"Maybe if I call you Mom, you won't feel so left out" Valeria said jokingly

"That's mean though" Geraldine said and they laugh

"I have few dresses in my mind, Miss Esmeralda is only helping me pick. You can help me filter those in my mind and bring those in your mind" Valeria said wanting Geraldine to feel better

"Let me finish making this pancakes I'm taking to your father's workplace and I will be right there" Geraldine said blushing

"Love is still sweet at close to old-age. One day I really want to hear you and father's love story and all the hardships" Valeria said feeling more comfortable with her mother

"And I will love to tell you about it, all of it" Geraldine said blushing. Valeria leave her mother to her work and went to her suitcase to sort out some of the clothes in her mind. Geraldine came few minutes later to help her out, she removed few dresses and added new ones.

"You think all this options are right? And Miss Esmeralda will be able to pick something from it?" Valeria asked looking at what she called few choices becoming many

"Yes if she has good eyes for styles" Geraldine said and Valeria nod not wanting to deal with her mother's jealousy. Geraldine went out after picking clothes with her daughter while Valeria called Hannah up.

"Hi Hannah" Valeria greeted after she picked

"I knew you would say yes to coming, I'm reserving a whole table for my friends, former roommates and new roommates" Hannah screamed happily

"See you tonight. Send the address" Valeria said not getting why she was so excited.

"Dress to kill girl, my friends dress to kill everytime" Hannah said excitedly

"I will Hannah" Valeria replied still not getting why her coming is making her excited.

This would have been her now if her mother accept her joke earlier to call her Mom, she said its a thing of the past that the word brings up if any of her child says it and none of them wants to have another horrible Christmas.

***FLASHBACK***

No matter what happens they try to keep Mom off their lips but it was Halloween and Francis line goes thus in some Halloween play in school: You were scared, Mom. They were all helping him to practice and it was not only with his lines but they were acting the roles with him so he can get better and feel like his family were the one he was acting with on the stage. After going through few lines and all that it was finally their mother's part which Valeria has been acting since she was busy.

"You were scared, Mom" Francis said laughing still acting his role. Geraldine's role was to act not scared but have this face of she's going to pay back but she was not acting. The director, Valeria got into some directing actions.

"Cut! We are taking that again Mom" Valeria said it not meaning Geraldine but the role. They all didn't realize what was going on until Geraldine stormed into her room.

"Was that part of the play?" Benedict asked not understanding what part that was. The others answered negatively and they knew something was up.

"Oh! Maybe Mom got her period" Valeria said it meaning Geraldine this time

"Mom?" Albert asked realising the mistake they've made

"Oh my goodness! Didn't she read the lines?" Valeria asked not wanting to be part of the drama but she already said Mom twice

"Francis did she? Did you hint her?" James asked knowing how stupid it will be if he didn't

"She read her lines and I didn't think it was necessary" Francis said sadly

"What have you done?" Albert asked trying to stay calm

"I did nothing wrong. What's bad in calling our own mother - Mom?" Francis asked angrily and storm to his room

"You know he's right" Valeria said and leave angrily, this seems hard on her especially.

"Leaving angrily won't solve anything guys" James said and Benedict leave angrily too

"Should we leave angrily too?" Albert asked and chuckle.

"Mother is being dramatic but I understand or I don't understand where she's coming from" James said and leave the house angrily.

That was how they were till after Christmas when their father sort the issues and made sure they promise they won't make the mistake anymore.

***FLASHBACK ENDS***

"One day, I will know the story and hurt behind that Mom of a thing, I hope you heal after talking about it" Valeria said to herself and start packing her choices of clothes in her small traveling bag to take to Esmeralda. And to thank Esmeralda for her time since the day she knew her till this evening, she made her signature toast bread but without a toaster and smoothie.
