Refresh start

After the press conference, Mr.D gathered us all and asked for our opinion on whether to keep Mary or replace her. To be frank this was her last chance too. After a few minutes of discussion, I asked Mary to enter.

Mr.D took the initiative,

"Ok. Mary we have taken a discussion to let you act in the drama as the lead actress. But you will have to sign a new contract before the start of the filming tomorrow. The contract will be sent to you in an hour."

"What if I want to quit?" asked Mary. She thinks she can handle Mr.D with some lovey-dovey talk and expressions.

"Well if you want to quit you will have to pay a large amount of compensation for delaying the drama and for personally defaming George, my brother-in-law, and specially my sister."

Mary looked at George and Mr.D at the same time. Then only she realized that she has gotten into bigger trouble and there's no turning back.

"Or you can finish off the drama for half the promised payment," I said to her.

"But whatever you choose, your contract will be terminated after this. And you will have to pay the compensation for the damages caused for the company's reputation." said her Manager who was representing the company.

I felt sorry for her. Because I knew she worked hard to get to the place where she is now. But her love for being famous and being in the focus of the media was what made her downfall. She also looked down on others rather than helping or respecting others in the field. I hope she learned a lesson.

"We will give you a day to think and let us know your feedback. I will dismiss the meeting now. And director thank you for your hard work, really appreciate it." said Mr.D.

Everyone was feeling down and they also have a bit of relief as Mary had been indirectly insulting them. They didn't want to work with her but they were also feeling sad about her.

I went to have a talk with Mary as Little Moon wanted to talk to her.

"Mary, can I talk to you for a little?"

"Yes George."

I met her near the seating created for relaxation of the actors.

"My girl wanted to talk to you." I said to her.

Mary didn't want to talk to her. But Little Moon talked to her. She told that if Mary is willing to further study acting, she can help arrange it with the help of Mr.D. And told Mary to be positive and learn from her mistakes.

I was surprised how a little Moon wanted to help Mary. Not a single drop of jealousy or hate was seen in her actions. She simply wanted to help her. But Mary saw her goodwill as an insult to her and she said, she's rather be lectured by a mad man. I was so furious of Mary.

"Listen to me, Mary, neither I, Mr.D or My girl did anything wrong for you. You came up with all this and got into this situation. YOU have to blame yourself not others." I told her.

"So what! why does she have the power to lecture me? What right!" screamed Mary. This got the attention of some co-workers seated nearby.

"My girl felt bad for you and she wanted to help you get out of the situation and become a better person. If you see this goodwill of her as an insult to you, I really don't know how to help you overcome this situation." I felt sad for Little Moon, for she has talked with Mr.D to arrange away for her to study abroad. "If you want to study here are the details in this." I gave her the file.

She took the file and tore it to pieces and let with anger.

The director who was listening to the thing from a bit far came to me.

"She just lost a good chance. Why don't you give this opportunity to the new young guy who joined, he's really good."

"You mean the tall new guy, Wang?"

"Yes, he' comes from a poor background and he has worked hard to get to this point."

"Why don't you arrange a meeting for me with him, so I can let him meet Mr.D."

I told about this to Little Moon and she told me there is a special sponsoring program for talented individuals but they have to come to terms with the contract. She assured me it will be a good chance for him so he can study while working to gain experience.

By the time Kevin had sent the new contract for Mary and she has agreed to do the drama with a pay cut. But she was given a strict set of rules to follow.

I went home that night and went to watch the beach from my balcony.

"HI" I called Little Moon.

"You must be tired right?"

"Hmm... just.. I am emotionally tired." I just wish she was here.

"Did you had dinner?"

"I don't feel like eating today. I just want to talk with you for a while. Wish we could go to the beach right now."

"Hmm... I'll tell you, while talking to me go and make something light to eat. What about egg noodles?" I laughed.

"So you are bribing me by talking with me to make something to eat?"

"On the spot! Yes."

I went to the pantry and took out necessary things and talked to her about the shoots. She was really interested in the CG shots. As they need to be perfect she has asked the art department to share the versions they have edited so far.

"You know my Moon, I am impressed with Mr.D"

"Why?"

"Because he can handle any situation pretty well. He foresees things."

"That's him. I am in this place today because of the determination and trust he had in me."

"I know."

"But..." she stopped saying.

"Why?"

"I wished he will always stay close by. I miss him. I am who I am today because of him."

"I know. He will be next to you soon. Wait patiently and remember I am with you standing next to you. "
