We meet again... Kindred Spirit

[Rebecca's POV]

After the incident of last night, the next day seems quite normal as expected.

Well, normal wasn't exactly the right word because...

"Umm, Rebecca..."

"Yes, mom?"

"Why is your brother had a huge swelling on his head?"

Currently. all of the family members are sitting at the dinner table and we are having a family meeting.

Because what happened last night, I punched Rudeus's head so hard that it created a mini earthquake that shake the whole house.

"Well, mom that is because...."

I look at my brother who still has the huge bump on the top of his head until now, he looks at me quite distraught about what happened, so I gave him the "should I tell them what you did" kind of face. He read the expression on my face and panicked, giving me the "please don't tell them" expression.

'Should I be honest to mom or should cover him up? *sigh* being the little sister here is huge pain in the ass. I guess a bit of good will is the only option here to keep this family together'

"Rudeus, well, he... fell from his bed and bump his head to the floor..."

""...."" The whole place was silent, not a single person reacted that time.

"Pfft..." Suddenly mother seems snickering all a sudden, no, father, Lilia and Roxy as well. They trembling for some reason.

""Hahahahahahaha"" the whole joyfully laughs loudly at the dinner table. They seem to be interpreted my answer as something a child would say and they find it hilarious.

I took a glance on Rudeus's reaction and he is not happy about it. He gave me a "I'll remember this" kind of face. Ifrowned and I gave him a "I saved your ass, dipshit" expression and sheepishly averted his eye in a fluster.

' *sigh* being a little sister for this idiot pervert of a brother is quite hard. Why did I not become the big sister when I was born. Good grief.'

Moving on from the family meeting aside, me and father continued our sword training for several more months.

The training mostly consists of exercises and sparring matches. When me and father are having a sparring match, I applied what I learned from the Sword God style and Water God Style.

So far, the match is somewhat tamed and we are evenly match. I'd say evenly match, but clearly, father is holding back because he thinks I am just an amateur yet.

Well, I'd say this is a good thing because if he tried to fight serious, I would surely get decimated instantly.

*clang* *clang* *clang*

"Oh? You seem to get a hang of it, Rebecca. Keep it up" Father seems to be impressed by my fighting capabilities and I am happy about it.

"Yes!"

*clang* *clang* *clang*

Then I step my game and used more battle aura to my body. My speed, strength and durability has increased significantly. This means I got the upper hand when I did that.

When father saw that, he was quite surprised at my sudden change of pace in my sword swings and footwork. So, he decided to play dirty and suddenly sweep kick my legs.

"Whooah!"

*thud*

"Oof!"

I got tripped and my face hit the ground quite roughly. I then look up and glared at my father who is looking at me quite smugly.

"Hey! What do you do that for?" I angrily yelled at father and just gave me a bigger smug smile.

"Hehe, you should expect the unexpected, Rebecca. Some swordsman doesn't play fair and will sometimes uses dirty tricks to get the upper hand in battle.

"That thing you did there wasn't from the sword god style nor the water god style. So, I assume it is from the [North God style]" I voiced out my speculation at my father and he gave me an impressed expression.

"That's right, the North God style is all about trying to win the match in any means necessary. The swordsmen using this sword style uses techniques that is adaptable to any situation" Father explained it briefly. I nodded in understanding while getting the gist of the explanation.

"So, in a way, they use that sword style basically to cheat the system of sword play and win the match with ease?" Father seems to be quite confused at my speculation but he at least understands it a little.

"Anyway, let's continue our sparring match" Father gave me a hand and hoist me back on my feet.

"Ehh, aren't you going to teach me the north god style?" I asked him when he suddenly dropped the topic.

"Hmm? I'm not sure if that sword style suits you. Besides it doesn't look quite chivalrous in sword matches" Father says as if he is trying to make excuses.

"You're the one to talk. You use that sword style against me and not teach me about it. That's not quite fair, isn't dad?" I said as I pouted and looks away from him.

"Guhh" He seems quite shocked that his daughter is gave him a smack in the face with facts and he thought that I am rebelling against him.

"W-wait, please don't hate daddy, okay. Fine, I will teach you the north god style, just don't stop loving me, my Becca" He panicked as he finally gave in and he is willing to teach me the north god style.

'Hehehe, foolish father. It seems you had activated my trap card! Now that you are willing to teach me North god style, I will use it to pay back what you did to me earlier.' I maniacally laughed in my inner thoughts as I planned my future revenge against him.

After a few hours of learning the north god style, I seem to be gotten the hang of the techniques used in the sword style.

The sword style mainly consists of adaptable techniques, ranging from scouting enemies, dual wielding and heck, even throwing your own sword at the opponent is also a technique.

Basically, this sword style feels like cheating and I am loving it. I can mess with a lot of people with this and I probably might get away with it.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I am no b*tch like those asshole bullies back in the previous world. What I meant to say, I can use this style to deliver punishment and retribution to those who are in the wrong and I will be the judge of their fate when they stand against me or tried to threaten my love ones.

Anyway, now that has settled, I finished my training session and take a break.

I decided to check on Rudeus and Roxy to see what they are doing.

When I went to where they are, I found them practicing magic. It's been a year and a half since they are training magic while I am doing swordsmanship.

I then remembered my plan to ask them to teach me at some few magics. I just need to learn a bit of those to add in my arsenal for future use.

I approached the two and noticed me coming towards them.

"Ah, good afternoon, Rebecca" Roxy-san greeted me when I came

"Hey there, sis. What are you doing here?" Rudeus nonchalantly greeted me as well.

"Well, I was wondering if you guys can teach me a bit of magic you are doing" I bluntly asked them a favor.

"You want to learn magic? Why do you want to learn all a sudden?" Rudeus asked my intention for why I want to learn magic suddenly.

"Well, you see, father told me stories about his adventurer days and when I learned that they usually camp outside and occasionally ran out of water supplies, I have been thinking if I can learn fire and water magic for future uses." I explained to them my intention. They both nodded, understanding the purpose of my favor.

"I see, you want to learn magic for utility purpose, am I correct" Roxy asked to clarify and I nodded. "Well then, I guess it's fine to teach you. However, this will be added to my paycheck if you wish to learn from me, is it fine to you?" She added to make a condition for my abrupt request to learn from a hired magic tutor which is Roxy.

"Yes, it is fine. I will inform father about it later. Besides I have money as well" I said as I grab a pouch of money from my pocket.

"Ehh?! where did you get those money, Rebecca?" Rudeus pointed out his finger at me holding pouch of money.

"Well, you see..."

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I also went out with father in his daily patrol and monster subjugation at the nearby forest near the village. Father brought me to help with defeating the monsters that tried to come near the village proximity.

I then told father if I can sell the salvage parts of the monsters for money. He agreed and took me to the Asura city in order to sell the monster parts. I got a plenty of money earned from the exchange and went home to stash the money in my room.

Once I said that story to Rudeus and Roxy, they were impressed with my ingenuity and praised me. I proudly accepted their praise and they accept to teach me magic.

'Yes, praise me more! HAHAHAHA! It feels good to be praise. I never felt this worthy and admirable in past life, so this is a nice change of pace for me'

Few hours later, Rudeus and Roxy taught me the chant for the beginner rank fire and water magic. I tried chanting the magic and turns out well, well, not exactly.

When I tried chanting the beginner rank water magic [Water ball], it just drops to the ground and doesn't launch to the air like I expected it to be.

Rudeus and Roxy corrects me by saying that magic has different stage of instruction. They said that I need to set the size, speed and strength of the magic in order for it to work.

I tried applying their advice to my magic and successfully launched the water ball. Well, that is...

*Bam* *thud*

The water ball I launched hits the branch of mother's tree.

'OH SHIT, I'M F*CKED'

I run as fast as I could and lift the branch in place. Then I cast healing magic and fixed the branch.

"Phew, that was a close one... What are you two staring at?"

Rudeus and Roxy smugly stared at me, like they had an opportunity for revenge.

"Oho, looks like imouto-chan made a bit of a mishap" Rudeus teasingly said.

"Guh!"

"Yeah, she said that we shouldn't fire magic at her mother's tree and here we have her doing the same" Roxy came with the assist and fire another tease

"Guh 2x"

"And the look on her face when she broke the branch is so priceless. She looks scared that mother will scold her" Rudeus came with the third and final blow

"Guuuh...." *Knock Out, Fatality*

"U-urusai...."

"Oh, what's that? I can't hear you over the sound of victory we are having" Rudeus mocks me quite annoyingly

"URUSAI!"

"There we go, that's more like it. How does it feel to be the losing one here?" He keeps on mocking me, so I clenched my fist and...

"ORA!"

*Pow*

"Guuuh!!"

I punched Rudeus in the stomach and he fell on his knees clutching his abdomen. I gave him a stern and serious glare.

"URUSAI URUSAI URUSAI! KONO BAKA! FUSHIGI! OROKA!"

<A/N: (translate) shut up! shut up! shut up! You idiot! Blockhead! Foolish!>

I run away from the garden and entered the house angrily.

[Third POV]

While Rebecca grumpily walks out, Rudeus is still clutching his hurt stomach. Roxy just stands there having no idea what just happened.

"Ouch..." Roxy snaps out of her dumbfounded daze and rush towards Rudeus.

"Rudy, are you alright?" Roxy asked in concern and cast healing magic to ease his pain.

"Thanks, I'm fine. Damn, she's a feisty one. That punch hurts" Rudeus said as he still remembers the pain of getting gut punch by his sister.

"We should apologize to her. She will hold a grudge if we leave it like that" Roxy says as she felt guilty teasing her too much.

"Yeah, I guess you're right, sensei"

The two of them went inside the house and prepared themselves to apologize.

"Lilia-san, have you seen where Rebecca went?" Rudeus asked their housemaid who is sweeping the floor.

"Ah, master Rebecca went upstairs. She seems to be upset for some reason. Did something happen?" Lilia questions Rudeus with concern.

"Don't worry about it. We just teased her quite badly, that's all" Rudeus explains as he walks towards the stairs.

"I see, should I brew some tea for you and master Rebecca?" Lilia asked as she wants to prepare tea for them.

"Ah, please do" Lilia nodded and starts the preparation. Rudeus and Roxy climb the stairs and went towards Rebecca's room.

They stand in front of the door and Rudeus starts knocking the door.

*knock* *knock*

"Rebecca, are you there?" Rudeus asked to see if Rebecca was in the room

"Go away..." a faint voice answered from the other side.

"Rebecca... we, umm, we are sorry that we teased you quite a lot. So, can you forgive us?"

"......." Rebecca didn't answer and just went silent

"Rebecca?" *knock* *knock* "You okay there?" Rudeus then felt uncomfortable and starts banging the door.

*sigh* a heavy sigh can be heard from the other side. *tap* *tap* *tap* and footsteps that heading towards the door.

*creak* The door opens and the face Rebecca pouting appeared at the gap of the door.

"Umm, Rebecca, you umm-"

"I will forgive you but in one condition..."

"What is it?"

"I want to talk to you...." Rebecca said and then looks at Roxy. "privately"

"Oh, is that so. Well, I am going to my room. See you later, Rudy" Roxy then walks away from the twin's doorway.

Rudeus then entered the room to talk with his twin sister.

[Rudeus's POV]

My little sister is kind of weird.

She acts quite mature and grown up in some occasion. Also, she says some lines that seems out of the ordinary. I even recognized those phrases she kept blurting out through all of these years.

As if those lines were references from video games and movies of American cultures. Though I am a Japanese and a NEET. I sometimes saw and heard those reference in the internet.

Perhaps she is also a reincarnated soul like me, but who was she?

Why do I feel a sense of Deja vu when look at her sometimes.

I feel like I have met her before.

Anyway, I went inside our room and sit at the bed opposite to hers.

I want to know who she really is.

"Umm, Rebecca. I am just wondering. Are you a-"

"Reincarnated person? Yes" She immediately answered before I can finish my question

Ah I see now, I remember. She was that annoying small girl that accompanied me after I was kicked out from the house. I guess we reincarnated together after we died from the truck.

"I see, you are that girl then. So, we meet again, huh" I said with a tone of nostalgia

"What are you talking about, we always meet together, silly" she cheekily rebukes it.

"No, I mean now that I realized who you are, I am glad that you are okay after you also died from that truck"

"Ah, that... It is fine. As long you are also fine, I am satisfied" she says as she relaxes on her bed.

"Why is that?" I tilted my head as I don't understand what she said

"Well, I call it as a kindred spirit intuition" she says the same thing that she said back in the previous world.

"Hehe, you're the same person as before" I too relax on my bed.

"Is that so, hehe. Now that I confirmed each other who we are, I guess I will change my way how will treat you"

"So that means you will not punch me anymore?" I anticipated my freedom from her oppressive wrath.

"Hahahaha.... no."

My freedom then shattered like glass

"To be specific, I will take care of that perverted antics of yours even more. So, don't think you can freely peep on somebody naked that easy" She smiles at me, but that smile doesn't have any hint of happiness in it.

Oh shit, I am screwed. I will be stuck with a strict and oppressive tsundere sister.

"Also, do you want to explain about this" She then lifts something behind her pillow.

It was a panty, to be specific, it was Roxy-sensei's panty. WAIT? WHY DID SHE HAVE IT?!

"From the looks of this panty, it looks like Roxy-san's panty. What would happen if I told her about this" She smugly sneers at me

I stand up and walked towards her and prostrate in dogeza in front of her.

"Umm, what are you doing?"

"Please forgive me! Don't tell Roxy about the panty! I will do whatever you want!" I begged at her profusely.

"Oho~ Anything you say? Hehehehe~" she said quite shrewdly and laugh maniacally

"Don't worry brother, I won't tell everyone about this matter" I was surprised and look at her.

She has a sagely looking expression as if she was a heaven-sent child.

"Really?" I asked to be sure, she nodded gently

However, that sagely appearance deforms into a very evil looking grin.

"Of course. However, I have one big favor to ask you. So, don't betray me on this one"

OH GOD! She's a demon! I thought Roxy is the demon race in the house, but I was wrong. There was another one and she's much worse!

"W-what's the f-favor, Rebecca?" I shuttered in fear on what she is about to ask. She stands up from her bed and looks at me.

"I want to learn voiceless incantation" she says as she pointed her finger at my face.

"Is that so. Okay, I'll do it. Just give the panty back to me" I accept her favor and begged to give the panty back to me.

"What? No! I said that won't tell Roxy about the panty but I never said I will give it back to you" she says as she hides the panties from my sight.

"B-but..."

"No buts, I am confiscating it" she says as she pockets the panty and walks towards the door.

She opens the door and before she leaves, she looked back.

"Why not join us downstairs to have tea, I heard you earlier that you ordered Lilia to brew some tea" she said as she exited the room.

"Y-yes, I'll be there...." I said as the door closes
