Learning Swords, Magic and the Truth?

Ever since Roxy came to the house as Rudeus's Magic Tutor, he started his magic lessons for several months from now.

As for me, I continued my sword training with father.

Father taught me more about the school of swordsmanship.

He said that three sword style have seven ranks: Beginner > Intermediate > Advanced > Saint > King > Emperor > God

This means that I am at the Beginner rank of being a swordswoman and I have to train myself in order to climb up to the God rank.

However, father said there is only one person is able to attain that position for each three-sword style. In order to get that position, you have to fight the current god rank of that specific sword style to the death, which is FREAKING scary!

Anyway, I am currently learning sword god and water god with father.

In the Sword God style, it is a must in learning how to swing your sword faster than your opponent.

I began with sparring with father and tests me if I could swing fast enough to hit him, but so far, he is always one step ahead of me and able to dodge my strikes.

'Damn, why the heck he is so fast in evading. Shet! I need to swing FASTER'

"Come on Rebecca, keep up a little more, will ya" Father taunts as he dodges my strikes

"I'm trying!" I struggled to get a hit from father who is able to evade my sword swings and even parries them when I thought I could hit him.

"Come on, put some more force on your arms and legs. Try covering your body with more battle aura"

"YES"

I covered my whole body with battle aura as instructed and I tried to hit my father again.

*Whoosh* *Whoosh* *Whoosh*

"That's more like it, keep swinging" Father encourages me while still dodging.

However, his dodges are getting less prominent and I am able get one or two hits to him.

He then congratulates me after hitting him several times and promote me to intermediate rank.

Then he taught me Water God style and learned to parry and counter attack sword strikes.

He started from hitting me with sword strikes and I am tasked to parry them.

At first, it is impossible to do because his sword strikes were fast and heavy.

I again covered my body with battle aura to make myself sturdy and agile.

I also analyze his attack patterns and parry the ones that repeats on the same direction.

"Oh? You're getting at this, Rebecca. How about we try increasing the swings"

"Wait Dad I think that's not a good ide-"

"Okay, HERE WE GO!"

"WAIT I'M NOT READY!" I screamed at father who starts to swing even faster.

'GOOD LORD, IS HE TRYING TO GET ME KILLED BY CONCUSSION?!'

I tried my very best to parry as much of his swings as possible while trying to survive his strikes.

So far, I could parry most of his hits and surprisingly tank a bit of damage thanks to my battle aura.

"Good job Rebecca, you manage to parry my strikes. Also, I am surprise that you got a very tough battle aura you have"

"Was battle aura supposed to be that normally tough anyway?"

"Not exactly, an average beginner swordsman will normally grimace in pain after getting hit by an advanced rank swordsman"

"So, you're saying I am abnormal, dad?"

"Well, not exactly. However, I can say your battle aura is tougher than a normal swordsman"

"I see"

So, my battle aura is tougher, huh. That means I can tank more damage than an average swordsman. If I train even more, I will become invincible!

After the Water God style training, Father decides to end the sword training for today.

I went inside the house and took a bath in a wooden tub of hot water in my bedroom. I dip in the tub and relaxed myself.

"Ahh~ It feels good in my body after training with father" I muttered to myself as I feel the fatigue and stress drowns out from my body.

*creak*

"Hmm?" I then suddenly heard the creaking sound of the door opening and Rudeus suddenly went in the room.

"!" He wasn't expecting me to be our bedroom. Ah, did I forgot to mention that both of us share the same bedroom. Sorry, my bad.

"...."

"....."

"Yo, sis. Can I join you in the tu-"

"I will give you five seconds to get the heck out of the room before I'll murder your ass"

"W-wait, it's just a joke! Please, forgive me"

"Five!"

"C-can we talk about this?"

"Four!"

"I mean we're still kids so it's fine right?"

"Three!"

"You don't have any assets to show, so there's nothing to stare at, right?"

"TWO!"

"Please stop counting, you're scaring me!"

"ONE! GET OUT!"

"Y-yes!"

*creak* *Bam* He quickly opened the door behind him and run as fast as he can.

For God's sake, that sicko won't learn, doesn't he! He even insulted my child body for not having any assets! Just you wait, you idiot pervert, I will grow my breast big enough in the future and use it to suffocate you to death!!

After venting my anger in my thoughts, I got out of the bath and get dress. I then went downstairs and saw brother hiding behind the dining table. I glared at him, which made him cower in fear and hid himself under the table.

Mother and Roxy were worried about Rudeus and me, wanting to know what happened between us.

"Hmmph!"

I walk towards the front door and before I open the door, I made a quick glance behind me. Rudeus was startled when I glare at him the second time.

"IDIOT!"

*creak* *Slam*

I went out of the house angrily and run to the road outside our home.

After five minutes of contemplating my actions while walking, I went towards Slyphy's house. For the past few months, I didn't just spend training swordsmanship my father. I also hangout with Sylphy in her house.

I always visit her to keep her company from her lonesomeness. We played together and talked about what we have done recently.

She also wasn't the type who goes out from her house to play, because lately, she was being bullied by the other kids in the neighborhood.

I am always there to defend her and scold the neighbor kids when they tried to hurt Sylphy. They hate my guts for siding with a demon or that was they always say.

Seriously? Her, a demon? Do you guys see any protruding horns or bat wings of some sort? No! In fact, the real demon here are you shetty brats!!

As I finished my pondering to myself, I arrived at Sylphy's house.

"Good afternoon, my dear best friend!"

"Ah! Ouch!"

*Clang*

When I barge in to the door with a boisterous greeting, I sound of something metal can be heard. I look at the source of the sound and saw Sylphy dropped a kettle of what I assume is hot water and saw her hands bleeding.

"SYLPHY!"

I rush towards her and checked her condition of her hands. From what I can see, her palms are severe burns and full of blisters. She grimaced in constant pain from the injury she got.

I deduce the situation and came to a conclusion that she tried to lift the kettle barehanded, unintentionally scorching the palms of the palm of her hands in the process.

'Wait just a second Sylphy, I am going heal your wounds"

"It's okay, Rebecca-san. I will just patch it up with a cloth"

"No, I am not just going to let it sit like that"

"...okay"

Sylphy showed her palms to me and I began to chant healing magic.

"Oh merciful mother of gods, please heal this one's wounds, and let him recover with a healthy body."

"[ X-healing]"

Green glowing light shines from hand and the severe burn and blisters from her palms slowly heals. Then wound that is left also got healed as well.

"There, all better now" I said as I puffs my chest in accomplishment.

"Wow, my wounds are gone and my hand doesn't hurt anymore. How did you do that?" Sylphy asked in astonishment

<A/N: I decided that in this fanfic, Sylphy doesn't have a scar on her palms>

"Oh that? I used intermediate healing magic. I learned from my mom, pretty cool right?"

"Um! can I learn it too?" she cheerfully requested me

"Ah, sure why not"

After I accepted her request, I begin to teach her the chants of the healing magic.

So far, I learned healing magic up to intermediate level and starting to learn and practice the advanced healing magic.

I had decided to learn healing magic because I think it would be more convenient for a swordsman to heal their own wound instead of calling for a healer.

However, I wanted to try casting it without any incantation like what my brother does. I will try asking him later but I don't think he will because he is bat shet terrified of me.

Should I give him forgiveness or forcefully him to teach me voiceless incantation? Hmm, I guess I'll do both.

Once the sun is setting, Rawls-san and her mother came home together

"Ah Rebecca-chan, what are still doing here?"

"Daddy, look. Rebecca healed my hands"

Sylphy rush towards her father and showed the palm of her hands.

"Really? What happened? Did you hurt yourself, dear?" Her mother asked her with concern

"I saw Sylphy hold a kettle with her bare hands, accidentally burned her palms and dropped the kettle to the floor. But don't worry, I healed her wounds. So, everything is fine and ah, also I teach her healing magic as well" I explained the situation to Sylphy's parents and they nodded in understanding.

"Thank you so much, Rebecca-chan. Is there anything we can do to repay you?" Rawls-san gladly says his gratitude towards me

"It's okay, Rawls-san. As long Sylphy is okay, there's nothing else I need as repayment" I respectfully decline to stay humble to them.

"Ah, is that so. Then let us know if need something from us, okay?"

"Yes" I gratefully nodded and looks out the window. It was getting dark now.

"I need to go home now, Rawls-san" I said to him as I promptly walks to the door

"Take care of yourself on the way home, alright?"

"Okay, I will" I said as I opened the door and rush towards my way home.

Once I got back, it was night time.

When I step at the entrance of the house.

There, I found father waiting on the stair to our front door.

I approach father and noticed me coming to him.

"There you are. Where have been, Rebecca? I heard that you angrily walked out the house" Father worriedly asked me.

"Ah, don't worry about that, dad. I am fine, I just went to Sylphy's house and play with her" I reassured father and told him where I have been. He then nodded in understanding.

Then we entered the house and mother came rushing towards me and ask me where I had been. I repeat the same answer before to mother, then she sighed in relief.

I asked mother on where brother was and she said that he is inside his room with Roxy.

'Oho~? What's this? Do I smell a relationship development in the air? Hehehe, I want to see what they are doing there' I giddily climbed the stairs and slowly walk towards our bedroom.

I pressed my ears at the door and listen to their conversation.

"Hurry Rudy, I can't hold it much longer"

"W-wait, Roxy-sensei, slow down!"

I heard some questionable lines behind the door. I can hear panting as well.

'Nani dafaq?! What the heck are they doing there? Wait! Could it be.... *gasp* '

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!"

I widely opened the door and cease whatever activity they are doing there.

""Ah""

It turns out that Roxy-san is just getting tired at holding a huge stack of heavy books and Rudeus is assisting her to get over the table.

'I see, I guess I overthink it a bit'

"What are you saying, Rebecca? What criminal? Where?" Roxy-san seems to misunderstood my reference. Oh well, the people of the other world won't understand it anyway.

"pffft~" I then heard someone snickering and it was Rudeus. He is holding his laughter when I said the line from a certain video game I used to play when I was in the previous world.

'How is he laughing at my jokes and doesn't feel the same confusion like Roxy does. He wouldn't know about this line unless you are a... wait, could it be...'

"Anyway, let's get started with our evening lecture. Rebecca, would you like to join us here? Roxy invites me who is currently slouching on my bed.

"Hmm? Well sure, I guess it won't hurt if I will learn a thing or two." I then got up from the bed and carried a chair to place besides Rudeus. I sat on the chair and listened to Roxy's lecture.

"Okay, let's start with the lecture. Since this is the first night, we will begin with something simple like the race in general." Roxy then picks up a book and begins to read.

From what I can understand from her lecture, it was said that the elves were the one who created magic. Long ago, when there was an ancient war occured across the three continents. To combat the ensuing battles, the long-eared tribe interact with the spirit of the forest and thus manipulating different kinds of elements such as wind and earth, which were the two oldest forms of magic.

'Oho~ I see, the elves were capable of manipulating magic, huh. I wonder if I can prompt Sylphy to learn magic? Meh, I will let Rudeus teach her that someday'

"Nowadays, humans were said to invent ways to use magic as imitation of how the elves uses magic. They adept to a lot of inventions and other creations." I nodded in understanding.

'Indeed, we humans are suckers for inventing stuffs and perhaps might get overboard with their inventions that it would risk the condition of the planet. Those tech geeks and their bullsh*t inventions are quite scary if you ask me.'

"I see, that would make sense that we can use magic today"

"Hey Sensei, are you not a human?"

"Oi Rudy, you can't just say something like that. Of course, she is a hu-"

"Actually, he was right. I am not a human but rather a demon. To be specific, I am from the Migurudo tribe of the Biegoya region of the demon continent." Roxy reveals a quite shocking fact about her identity.

"Huh?!" I surprised that the person we are talking to was actually a demon

'Wait, really?! She's a demon the whole time? But she looks very human to me? I thought demons were those with huge protruding horns, red skin and pointy tails! Argh, this world is confusing'

"Wow really, sensei was actually a demon?" Rudeus cheerfully asked Roxy

"Yes, according to the demon tribe, it was the told that there was a race of demons that consist of people with green hair and said to have aggressive and violent nature. Do you know why your parents, Rudy and Rebecca, were surprised of my appearance?"

"Was it because you are small?" Rudeus nonchalantly answered

"I am not small!" Roxy rebukes Rudy's rude comment about her height. I snickered at that and Roxy pouts at me because of that.

"No, it is because of my hair. It adjusted to certain level of light, which makes it looks like it was green in some occasion" Roxy explains, as it was because of her blue hair was the reason for my parents surprised reaction.

"Your hair is pretty, Sensei" Rudy then compliments Roxy's hair

"Thank you very much. But you should say that to a girl you like in the future"

"I like you, sensei" Rudy then hit with Roxy with another one.

"I-is that so, If after ten years your thoughts are the same, then tell that to me" Roxy then ask Rudy a favor.

"Yes, sensei"

'Ohohoho~ What's this? Did I just witness another relationship development? I swear if Rudy doesn't say that to Roxy, I will break his spine'

*cough* "Anyway, let's get back to the discussion. Aside from the color of the hair, the part being dangerous was a superstition"

"How so?" I asked Roxy because it pique my interest about the topic.

From the discussion I am listening, the reason for the superstition was because of a tribe called the Superd tribe, which are people with green hair and red gems on their forehead. Roxy said that they wreak havoc in the demon continent four hundred years ago.

"During ten years of the war, they induced fear to all tribal race, both comrades and foe alike in their massacre, so much so that they were dispised by all. Then the war was ended, they were punished and were chased out from the demon continents, never to be seen again"

The outrageous story that Roxy told us made me ponder quite a bit

'Damn, that quite sucks. To think they can massacre not only their enemies, but their allies as well. Talk about double crossing your homies *sigh* That's what you get for doing friendly fire on hard mode difficulty matches'

"So, listen you two. If you see someone with green hair and red gem on their forehead, run away as fast as you can. Don't even think of coming near them, okay?"

"What happens if we do come near them?" Rudeus inquires for clarification

"They will follow you home and kill everyone in your family" Roxy warns the both of us

'Good lord, that was some scary shet right there. I guess follow that advice.... But wait'

"Umm, I have one question" I want to verify if this question is plausible. Roxy noticed me asking and responded. "What is it, Rebecca?"

"I was wondering if other race with green hair would be affected with the persecution towards the Superd race."

"A different race with green hair? I haven't heard such a thing. Who is this person you're talking about, Rebecca?" Roxy asked while looking confused.

"You see, I have an elf friend who have green hair and were being bullied by calling her a demon. Do you think it is related to the superstition of the superds?"

"What? Where is this person? Are they alright? Tell me, Rebecca. I need to know" Roxy asked me while shaking my shoulders.

"Wait Roxy-san, calm down. It is fine, the person I am talking about lives on the west five minutes' walk from our house. Besides, I am protecting this person. So, no need to worry." I reassured Roxy-san and she released her hands from my shoulders. Then she sighs in relief at my answer.

"Well anyway, other than that, please still do be careful, understood?"

""Yes""

"Good. I guess this is where we end our lecture." Roxy then closes the book she is holding.

"Yes, thank you so much, Sen... Master" Rudeus said cheerfully. However, Roxy reacted differently from brother's comment. She grimaces in cringe when she was called Master.

"Please Rudy, don't call me that" Roxy indifferently plead.

"Eh, why not" "Yeah, it has nice ring to it, Roxy-san" both of us questioned why she refused to be called like that.

"It's because Rudy and Rebecca are both growing so fast. Rudy can easily learn magic while Rebecca can easily learn swordsmanship. Both of you can surpass me easily someday." She solemnly says as if she was inferior to us.

"Umm, I don't mi-"

"Very well, if you say so" I cut Rudy mid-sentence and said my own answer.

"Rebecca?"

"I mean if you think that way, then we accept our gratitude from your compliment. However, please do not depreciate yourself, Roxy-san. We may be growing faster than you, but you have more experience than us both. Treasure all the blessings you work hard so far and be proud of your accomplishment" I honestly said what is on my mind and told them to Roxy who was speechless from my speech.

Roxy didn't say anything and was just flapping her mouth for a while but then she recovered right after.

"Thank you for the speech, Rebecca. But still Rudy, avoid calling me master, please" Then Roxy exited our bedroom, leaving me with Rudeus alone in the room.

I then went back to bed and was about to sleep. However, I then heard moaning and bed creaking on the other room, which I remind you that it's my parent's room and they are doing kinky stuff again.

'Uggh, they are at again? They really want to make another sibling for us two that badly? I mean it's good, but not every single night! Do they even run out of juice by now? How annoying'

I was about to go out of the room and ask those two to keep it down, but when I got up, I saw my brother peeking out of our door and was spying on someone.
