MHA: A Game of Murder

Joe was always rather unlucky and due to that luck, had died in his previous world, only to be surprised when he realized that he had awoken once more within a new body in the world of My Hero Academia. Unlike most of the residents in the world of heroes, Joe wasn't the most heroic, or mentally stable, which isolated him from the rest of the people with justice-boners. What surprised Joe even more about his situation was discovering that he had obtained the strange power to gain the abilities of those he killed. Not to mention getting a system to keep track of his progress. Joe was excited... He would thoroughly enjoy this game. ~~~Notes~~~ -The quote-unquote "system" won't be a system necessarily and will moreso be a status screen of sorts. It will provide some bonus things to the MC but it won't have missions, levels, a shop, etc -Evil MC

Murder & Abandonment

"This IS fucking awesome."

Confused by the dark tone of voice, Shiro turned around, "What is-" He attempted to say as Kinsei violently bashed Shiro upside the head.

Knocking Shiro to the ground, Kinsei pounced on top of the dazed child and gripped his throat as he pierced through Shiro's eye with his rock.

"AAAAGH!!!" Shiro wailed in pain as Kinsei shoved the rock into his mouth, effectively shutting him up as he laid into Shiro with a barrage of painful hits to the head.

"Hik... Why! Why are you doing this!?" He screamed with a muffled voice in between punches as tears began streaming down his cheeks.

"Shut!" He yelled as he picked up another rock, "Up!" He shouted as he lashed him across the temple, "AND GIVE ME YOUR POWER!" He roared monstrously one final time as he grabbed the rock with both hands and smashed it into Shiro's jugular, crushing his throat to a mushed puddle of flesh as Shiro's body immediately went limp.

Falling to his knees with heavy breathing, an adrenaline-pumped Kinsei grinned demonically as the hand that was placed on Shiro's body seemed to suck something out of his body.

Strange gold energy was visibly coursing throughout Shiro's body as Kinsei's hand began to absorb that energy into his body, the very life being sucked out of the corpse as Kinsei felt himself grow stronger and healthier, as though gaining life from another's death.

As Kinsei took his slightly less pale hand off Shiro's disgustingly rotten carcass, he sucked in a breath that seemed to emanate vitality and opened his glowing amber eyes to the sight of a system message in front of him.

Calmly gazing at the screen with a small smirk, Kinsei closed his eyes and sorted out all of Shiro's memories in his mind.

"Hehehehe...." He hysterically chuckled to himself with an undertone of darkness as he grabbed Shiro's mangled body by the collar and laid him on the water.

Steadying the floating corpse, Kinsei used both hands to place a giant rock on top of the body as it quickly began to sink to the lowest depths of the lake.

"Bye, bye, Shiro!" He waved bye at the corpse as though it was still alive.

Smiling, Kinsei looked up at a crack in the cave roof and bent down with a joyous glint in his eyes.

Kinsei concentrated on activating his new power and let out a steaming breath as he launched up, his body completely morphing into a heavy smog as the burst of wind flew out of the crack and crashed into the ground in a whirlwind as his body reconstructed back in front of the cave.

"This is going to help a lot in the future," He said to himself with a smirk as he turned back to the cave with a wave, "Thanks for the power, Shiro. You will not be remembered!" He cheerfully assured as he giddily skipped out of the forest.

As he made his way back home, Kinsei began calmly practicing his new abilities by shifting small bits of his flesh into vapour and moving them around his body with precise movements.

The possibilities for this quirk, though not limitless, were still very useful.

Things like sending pieces of himself into another person and destroying their internal organs are an incredibly powerful way of taking down the most durable of opponents without piercing their thick hide.

Walking into his house, Kinsei made his way past his furious parents and confused sister as he went up to his room and lay on his bed with a pleased smile.

"Today was a rather productive day," He mumbled to himself as he closed his tired eyes.

"Let's see what happens tomorrow...."

"And with recent news, we have reports of a young man by the name of Shiro Itonsa, a student at Aldera Junior High, being reported as missing when the parents of the boy stated that they hadn't seen their son in two days..." A TV reported as Kinsei calmly sat next to his sister on the couch.

Having not found anything to be mad at yet, Saiko was acting rather relaxed and didn't mind the presence of her older brother... Well, as long as he didn't do something to irritate her, that is.

"That's pretty fucked up, huh?" Saiko asked in an attempt at speaking to her estranged brother as he nodded dismissively and continued to distractedly munch on the sandwich he made.

"Yeah, whoever did that must be sick in the head!" He declared with a righteous tone and overexaggerated disgust as Saiko raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I guess..." She drawled with a confused tone as Kinsei began to stare intensely at the girl with an undecipherable look.

Though unaffected by the gaze at first, Saiko soon began feeling uncomfortable under his piercing gaze. She attempted to display her discomfort so he would stop, but Kinsei was unrelenting and simply continued to distractedly stare at her.

He remained practically unmoving as his unblinking eyes bore into the girl's small frame, as though pinpointing every individual aspect of her very soul, all her insecurities, her thoughts, her body. Everything was seemingly on full display to the murderer.

'Such a fragile neck...'

Saiko had endured the stare for a while but began to feel slightly unnerved, "Okay, enough! You've been acting creepy since you came back two days ago. What the hell happened?" She asked with suspicion as Kinsei shrugged and gave a nonchalant smile.

"I fell in love!" He said confidently, as though this wasn't the most ludicrous thing to come out of his mouth.

An expression of shock overcame her face, "Love- Wha..." She stuttered for a moment before collecting herself and facing him with full attention, "Who is it? Do I know her?" She asked curiously as Kinsei looked to be pondering it for a moment.

'Does she actually believe me? That's adorable.'

"Who knows~" He sang to her as she clicked her tongue and shook him by the shoulder.

"Seriously! Who is it!? Hell, I didn't even know you had the capability to be nice let alone love someone. I need to know!" She demanded while shaking a smiling Kinsei as he remained childishly vague.

"Well, I suppo-" Kinsei attempted to speak only for his eyes to catch the sight of his father standing menacingly in the doorframe.

"Kinsei. Come," He demanded with an expression of anger as Kinsei grinned, waving bye to his still confused sister as he relaxingly walked behind his father, "Talk to you later!" He said with a curious look at his father.

"Soooo... What did you need?" He asked with a curious grin as his father remained silent and continued through a polished wooden door.

"Your mother and I need to speak with you on a matter of utmost importance," The father stated plainly as he sat himself down on the couch with Kinsei's mother, Kinsei sitting on the seat across them.

"Cool," He commented, relaxing on the couch with an expression of comfort, "What is this matter of importance?"

Ren ignored the question and pulled out a file from his desk, placing it on the table in front of Kinsei as Kinsei gained a more serious expression.

"What is this?" He asked with a blank expression, taking the file and opening it as he froze at the sight of some sort of government form inside, "A contract... Or a deed?" He mumbled to himself as his parents allowed Kinsei to read through the contract.

As Kinsei read through every sentence one by one, his eyes widened more and more and his face quickly became stone cold, "What is this?" He asked once more with a more forceful tone as a proud glint appeared in his father's eyes.

"You want to attend U.A., correct?" Ren asked with a concealed smirk as Kinsei stared at him with bloodshot eyes, "So? What does that have anything to do with this?" He asked without moving, his mother fixing her glasses as she responded.

"Well, we have done you good graces by taking care of you despite your quirkless status and have dealt with your presence because as long as you didn't declare yourself as a part of our legacy, things would be fine... However, now that you are putting yourself out there and causing trouble-- especially since you began hanging out with that odd group of friends --our legacy has been continually dirtied by your foolish endeavours and due to you now wishing to join the most prestigious institution for heroes, our reputation will undoubtedly take a hit."

"Your father is a genius scientist desired by every major health institution in the world and I am a highly valued member of the Hero Commission. We, the great Ogawa family, will not be tore down by you or your quirklessness. You-- our useless spawn --cannot be allowed to tamper with our great standing among the world.

"Are you aware that the Yaoyorozus are sending their genius daughter to U.A. this year? If you go there in the same year-- even if you simply partook in the exam --the Yaoyorozu dynasty would be superior and we would become an object of ridicule among the higher class, we would be laughed out of the room for even attempting to rise above the Yaoyorozu using your pathetic abilities."

"You are NOTHING compared to the people attending that academy and you CANNOT attend that school. Your sister is too young to attend U.A. yet and, if you were to attend that institution, she would be treated as a laughingstock and have her prodigal status damaged by your foolish existence! She may be able to attend U.A. this year if she gains many academic achievements but her acceptance rate is at risk if you damage her reputation. Keep in mind that, in order for her to be accepted by U.A. for the Year Skip program, she must be absolutely clean of any dirt on her record..."

"...And you would be the most disgusting stain on her perfect record."

"We have had enough of you. We raised you until now, but you have become too much of a burden for our proud shoulders to carry anymore. You are a disgrace to our name."

"We have endured your... disorder... for many years and keeping you around any longer would be a detriment to this family's prestige and legacy..."

As Emiko finished her arrogant tirade of hubris and pride, she pushed the contract further toward Kinsei whose eyes remained tense and bloodshot with rage.

"And because of that..." Kinsei's father continued, "...We have decided to renounce you as one of our own."

'...'

'What...'

"You're... disowning me?" He questioned disbelievingly as his father gave a simple nod.

"Correct," He agreed with a disgusted glance at Kinsei, pointing at the form with concealed satisfaction as Kinsei's hand clenched the paper with a strange look in his eyes.

Emiko and Ren waited patiently as Kinsei gave a small nod and silently walked over to the door, "I should pack my stuff..." He spoke without looking back as exited the room and walked past his curious sister.

"What did Dad talk to you about?" She inquired innocently as Kinsei shifted his expression into one of sadness.

"I'm, uh... They disowned me," He explained bluntly as Saiko froze in shock.

Kinsei ignored the reaction and made his way into his room as he began shoving all his belongings into a decently sized duffel bag.

Not saying a word, Kinsei walked back down the stairs to the sight of a worried Saiko as he once again ignored the surrounding people and sneakily snatched a few expensive jewelry items.

Throughout this entire process, Kinsei's eyes remained unblinking, staring straight ahead with an eerie gaze that lacked any discernable emotion.

"You're leaving already?" Saiko asked from behind him, "You can still visit, right? Or are you just gone forever...?" She asked hesitantly as Kinsei's unwavering gaze shifted to her.

"I could visit..." He stated, a slightly relieved look crossing Saiko's face, "But I won't," He stated plainly as Saiko felt confused.

"You won't visit? Why? We're your family..." She attempted to appeal to his emotions as Kinsei approached her with a relaxed demeanour, his eyes contradicting that relaxed posture.

"No, you're not," He spoke with a light smile as he tapped her on the forehead in an odd manner, "You've never been..." His words reverberated through the air with an undertone of amusement as an upset expression crossed Saiko's face, feeling slightly hurt by his uncaring words.

Saiko was about to counter with angered words but was suddenly interrupted by a pair of arms wrapping around her in what she perceived to be a comforting gesture.

"Have a nice life..." Kinsei whispered in a sinister manner as Saiko, who was slightly surprised by what she thought was a loving hug, became confused by Kinsei's mysterious words.

He wasn't hugging her because he cared.

Not noticing the strange wisp of gas that had appeared on Kinsei's ear, Saiko hesitantly succumbed to the hug and embrace Kinsei in what would be the last time they saw each other as the strange vapour breezed off his ear and sneakily entered Saiko's mouth.

Letting go of the hug, Kinsei turned around and opened the door as he waved goodbye with a smile and exited the home, "Bye, bye, Saiko!" He called out cheerily as a slightly sad Saiko gave a reluctant wave, glancing at her parents with a disapproving look as Kinsei left the mansion's property.

Kinsei walked a few more meters before stopping and concentrating on the small bit of air he left behind.

He closed his eyes, linking his senses to the vapour as he started guiding it through Saiko's body, eventually splitting the air into two more pieces as he nestled one piece next to her lungs and sent the other two out of her mouth.

He could feel the vibrations on the two pieces, noting that Saiko was most likely arguing with her parents as he snuck the other two pieces into the people who were once his parents and placed them against their lungs as well.

Grinning at his plan, Kinsei excitedly shifted his vapour back into the small pieces of skin that he had taken from his ear and let them rest near all of their lungs until he found the need to eliminate those pesky humans.

'I won't kill them yet. When the police investigate the murder, they will suspect me first since I had a reasonable motive so I can't get rid of them...'

'And besides, it's way too dangerous for me to kill the heads of one of the most influential families on the planet just yet. People would stop at nothing to find out who killed them and I don't need that kind of stress.' He thought to himself as he exited the premises with a psychotic glint in his eyes.

'But I suppose it doesn't matter. I'm finally free...'

"And their lives are in the palm of my hand."
