Ch. 92 - End of Hydra (2)

"So, this is your plan? I'm sorry to tell you this but it won't work." After hearing Doflamingo's plan, Fury's face was full of dread and he can't help but sweat and think that Doflamingo is an idiot.

"Well, do you have a better plan then?" Doflamingo tilted his head and asked in return.

"I-I think your plan sounds good enough. So, what do you want me to do?" Fury finally relented and hoped that Doflamingo's plan would work.

"I just need you to call Pierce here as he's the head of the Hydra lurking inside Shield." Doflamingo said as Fury nodded his head before dialling a number on his phone.

*Ring!*

"Nick? What's going on? I heard someone invaded the Headquarters? Are you fine?" Pierce's caring voice resounded through Fury's voice, making Fury think that Pierce is a really good actor as he sensed no malice from his voice.

"I'm fine, I just discovered something. I need your presence in my office." Fury said, making Pierce stop talking for a few seconds before answering.

"Sure, I'll head over there now." Pierce said before hanging up the call.

"Sigh, I just hope those acting lessons that I took are worth it." Fury said to himself as he noticed that Doflamingo is already gone from his office and he must've left to do his part.

Meanwhile, Pierce told his driver to change directions and started routing towards the Headquarters.

'What's gotten into him?' Pierce wondered as he hoped that Fury didn't know about Hydra or else he would be forced to proceed with his plans right here and right now.

'Oh Nick, you may be my friend but my loyalty towards Hydra is higher.' Pierce said to himself as he holstered a gun on his back.

If push comes to shove, he might be forced to kill Nick Fury right in his office.

It took him 30 minutes before arriving in Nick Fury's office and when he went inside, he saw Nick Fury's back, looking outside the wall window.

"Nick? Why'd you call me here? Are there any problems?" Pierce kept his temperament and asked Nick Fury, while being cautious himself as he was looking around, trying to detect anything weird or out of place that might cause him trouble.

Nick Fury turned around and faced him as Fury looked at him seriously.

"I know you're Hydra." Just when Pierce was about to confirm his suspicions and unholster his weapon, Nick suddenly dropped a bomb on him.

"What are you talking about, Nick. This isn't funny." Giving that Fury is the most cautious person that he met, Pierce thought that Fury was merely testing him by telling him that he's Hydra.

"I already knew about it, long before I entered Shield." Nick Fury said confidently as he walked towards his table and poured himself a whiskey.

"Wha-." Just when Pierce was about to continue his facade, Nick Fury already beat him to it.

"This is not a test, Pierce." Nick Fury said as he calmly drank his whiskey and placed the glass back down on the table.

He then suddenly walked towards Pierce's side and whispered.

"Hail Hydra."

Pierce shot a shocked look at Fury. He didn't expect Fury to be like him, a Hydra.

"How did yo-." Pierce has thousands of questions running on his head and he can't help but be excited. Normally, he already had a perfect plan for Hydra to emerge once again and be stronger than ever but with Fury on his side, his plans would be changed but there's less risk now and would be implemented much sooner than planned.

"It is shocking yes. But do you know the reason why I'm here in the first place?" Fury then sat on his chair and gestured for Pierce to also sit on the chair in front of him.

Pierce did as he gestured while Fury continued with his 'story'.

"Sir Baron Strucker was the one who sent me here. To watch over you. He told me that he's cautious about you, especially since you have a very high position and wanted me to watch your every move." Fury dropped another bomb on Pierce, as Pierce can't help but clench his fist.

'That bastard! He's the one that couldn't be trusted in the first place! Luckily, he's already dead and all the remaining Hydras have fled to my Hydra, disguising themselves either as a Shield Agent, FBI Agent and even a Government Employee. Since my branch is the only one left, then obviously, I now have full control over every Hydra's moves.' Pierce thought to himself as he can't help but feel thankful that the other side of the Hydra is gone. Yes, he would now lack reinforcements and support but in exchange for that, Hydra is now under his control, so it's not a bad deal.

Fury knowing about Baron Strucker has completely removed Pierce's suspicion on Fury and cemented in his thoughts that Fury is indeed a Hydra.

"But Baron is dead right? I'm sure you've heard about it. With him gone, what will you do next?" Pierce asked, hoping that Fury would agree to be under him.

"Naturally, I should be following Sir Baron but since he's gone now...." Fury leaned on his chair and seemed to be thinking about something.

"....I have decided not to work under you." Fury said, making Pierce's expression turn grim.

"Instead, I would be working with you. After sitting in this position I've grown to be more prideful when being under someone." As Fury continued, Pierce's grim expression was replaced by a happy one.

Though it's too bad that he can't have Fury under him, but as long as Fury isn't his enemy, it's fine with him.

With a smile, Pierce stood from the chair and clapped Fury shoulder as he said loudly and proudly.

"Hail Hydra!"

"Hail Hydra!" Fury soon followed after him and yelled the catchphrase of Hydra, with pride in his voice.

However, his eyes held nothing but disgust which he immediately concealed. Thankfully, Pierce was drowned by excitement that he didn't notice.

While Fury was going smoothly with the plan, the same goes to Doflamingo as he succeeded in putting a sleeping pill on all the drinks and foods in the cafeteria in the Triskelion, which would take effect about 3 hours once consumed.

He timed it so that everyone will consume it during their lunch break. And just in case someone either didn't eat or ate something different that isn't from the cafeteria, Doflamingo remained standby along with the 5 ninjas that he brought.

Once Doflamingo sensed that someone is still awake, he would either send one of the ninjas or he himself will go to put him or her to sleep.

Unfortunately, the Agents that are assigned in the security room have a different lunch time, so he has to send Ryuma and the ninjas to take care of them first but putting them to sleep just right before the sleeping powder kicks in to the Agents.

Why is he doing this exactly? Well, that's because he wanted to take care of the Agents inside the headquarters first, before he proceeds to the Agents that are outside.

And yes, he's also including the real Shield Agents as it would be hard to differentiate between a Hydra and a Shield Agent and he doesn't want to cause too much ruckus.

Thankfully, he didn't forget to instruct Fury to distract Pierce for at least 3 hours. Fury agreed to it and called it easy as pie as distracting someone is one of a spy's greatest forte.

After 2 hours, the sleeping pill finally kicked in as almost 99% of the Agents inside the Triskelion fell on the ground one by one, leaving only those who either didn't eat or their immune systems are stronger than an average one.

"3rd floor west wing, 4th Floor East Aisle..." Doflamingo started instructing the ninjas about the Agents who are still awake and were about to press an alarm.

Too bad for them, Doflamingo already predicted this so he asked Matilda to disable the alarm system on the entire building, putting them in a lockdown. Not only that, he also asked her to cage the entire building, like the one earlier when he appeared in the hallway.

It only took the ninjas 20 minutes to take everyone out and squeeze them all in the hallway.

There are a total of 879 Agents in the Triskelion. Considering that the requirements to become a Shield Agent is hard, the number of Agents is already shocking.

It took Doflamingo 3 minutes to tie them all out with the help of the ninjas.

"We have 5 hours till they wake up. Watch over the Triskelion and make sure that no one gets in or sees what is happening inside. If you see an Agent outside, immediately put them unconscious and tie them along with these guys." After speaking and laying out orders, the ninjas nodded their heads and Ryuma immediately started assigning which and where each ninja will guard.

"Matilda, how's our little friend going?" Doflamingo asked inside his mind.

"Hehe, with Alice, that squirt can't even access outside his servers, so he's blind." Matilda said, referring to Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Arnim Zola.

Meanwhile, Fury was sweating a bit as he heard every bit of Pierce's plans and he can't help but think that he'll probably succeed if Doflamingo didn't tell him about the lurking Hydra inside.

"Are you catching up? Oh, sorry. This must be too much for you." Pierce asked him worriedly before nodding his head in understanding. Thinking that Fury was still a newbie when it comes to things like long term plans.

"...I'm fine." Fury suddenly sees a glimpse of Doflamingo's thumbs up right outside the glass and he can't help but smile to himself.

Looks like Hydra will fall today.
