Ch. 118 - New York War

A light blue beam suddenly lit up and pierced the sky as a large black hole suddenly opened up right after, earning the curiosity and shock of the innocents below.

"What's that?" The citizens below looked up and pointed their fingers in the sky as they wondered when suddenly, weird looking objects started flying down from the hole.

"Oh my god, what is that!" Soon, people started running away when these weird objects attacked not only the structures and cars, but also them.

*Boom!*

In just a few minutes, most parts of the city are all on fire and full of destruction.

"What's going on!"

"Shit! I knew today will be the day North Korea will attack us! Fuck!"

"Fuck you! It's Russia!"

"You both shut up!"

"It's Loki." Matilda stared up at the sky while standing on top of a very tall tower.

This tower obviously belongs to her, or more especially to the Celestial Syndicate where she became the temporary owner after Doflamingo's disappearance.

"I still can't believe that Doffy even predicted this." Natalya walked up beside her and said in astonishment.

"That's just how he is." Matilda replied to her as she shrugged her shoulders.

"So, are we going?" Suddenly, Pietro arrived behind them in a silver trail before asking.

"We should watch first. Send the ninjas to rescue the innocents and let the CP0 handle the fighting. This is a good opportunity for them." Matilda gave her orders as a ninja clad in black, who had been kneeling since earlier, nodded his head before leaving the rooftop.

"I'm not gonna lie the view is quite good." Wanda commented suddenly, making everyone on the rooftop to stare at her weirdly.

"What?" Wanda asked in confusion as if she did nothing wrong.

"Seriously sis? Those guys are killing people and you're saying that they have a good view?" Pietro slapped his forehead and explained the reason why they were staring at her.

"What? No, I didn't mean them! I meant that large black hole in the sky!" Wanda got embarrassed for being misunderstood so she quickly explained.

"There you go again, reasoning your ass out." However, Pietro teased her by not believing any word she said.

"Pietro!" Wanda's face twitched in annoyance as Pietro playfully sticked out his tongue before disappearing from the roo.

Natalya and Matilda ignored them both and just focused on what was happening in New York.

*Boom!*

Suddenly, a large Leviathan left the huge black hole in the sky and started heading towards their location.

Seeing this, Natalya got ready to move but Matilda stopped her.

"Don't. I'll handle this." Matilda said in a confident manner as she just raised her eye brow when the flying Leviathan suddenly stopped in its tracks but it still continued to float in the air as if someone had stopped time.

"What a strong telekinetic grip." Natalya muttered before looking at Matilda in a new light.

To be honest, she hasn't really seen this girl's capabilities except that she was told that she has telekinesis and telepathy, so Natalya assumed that she's quite weak and only worked as Doflamingo's closest assistant and his friend.

"What?" Noticing Natalya's stare, Matilda asked.

"Nothing. It's just that....You're quite strong." Natalya answered after a moment of hesitation.

"....Thanks." Matilda was hesitant at first but still expressed her gratitude. Though she was weirded out that Natalya doesn't know what she's Momentum, the famous superhero. However, she could understand that it is because she didn't really bother to tell anyone about her hero identity, she just lets them figure it out on their own, so it's partially her fault for Natalya not recognizing her. Perhaps, half of the reason is because she was probably too busy taking care and spending time with her children.

As they watched the Avengers fight the invaders, Matilda noticed that they were at a disadvantage due to lack of manpower. Why?

Perhaps the reason is because they don't have a Hulk on their side as Bruce Banner is currently in his laboratory, along with his Science Lab(love), Richard Parker.

Speaking of Richard, that man is now craving to see his son, however Doflamingo hasn't returned yet so, Matilda asked Richard to wait a few more days or so for Doflamingo to come back.

"I think they're gonna need my help." Matilda suits up and said before jumping out of the edge of the rooftop, under the confused gaze of Natalya.

"Hmm....I think I've seen that suit somewhere." Natalya scratched her chin in curiosity.

"Hey guys, I don't think these things will ever stop." Captain America touched his ear piece and spoke as he pointed at a single dead body of a leviathan.

"It took almost everything just to stop one of those things." Captain America continued.

"I also don't think I could hold these guys off. Stark, where's your aforementioned reinforcements? Any minute now."

Up in the sky, Tony Stark heard the mention of his name and his face can't help but grimace.

"Yeah, I know. I'm trying to contact her but she doesn't seem to be answering." He answered before muttering to himself with a sigh.

"Sigh, where is Momentum when you need her the most?" In fact, Tony has just recently learned that Matilda turns out to be the famous Momentum that has been famous through these years, gathering both fans and haters, but mostly are fans. I mean, who doesn't like to see a super hero that seems to have come out of a comic book? Well, maybe only that Jameson or whatever his name is.

"I'm just gone for a minute and you're already blaming me?" Like the voice of an angel, Tony heard Matilda's voice behind him, so he immediately turned around and saw her floating with her hands on her hips.

"Blaming you? Pft, what? No, I was just actually praying for you. Thank God Earth's savior is here now." Without batting an eye, Tony straight up lied from his tongue, making Matilda smile at him in amusement.

"Hmph, save your sweet talk for later." Matilda pouted still before tilting her head and all the aliens who tried to approach them with bad intentions suddenly got squeezed up like a lemon in a lemon squeezer.

"Ugh, less violent please?" Tony saw some blood splashing on him, making him annoyed a bit. Cleaning a single piece of Iron Man suit costs thousands of dollars, though it's a very small amount for him, but he could've used that money for much more important things like paying someone's college fees or something.

"Tell that to the guy right there." Matilda scoffed and said while pointing at Thor who was massacring the enemies with his hammer.

"Ohh, the clean crew are definitely gonna have a 'field' day today, heh. I kinda feel bad for them though." Tony muttered before resuming his combat stance and started fighting the aliens once again.

"Hey, don't you think you guys should close the portal? It's been hours!" Matilda complained as she snapped off the head of a Chitauri soldier.

"I think they're still working on it." Stark said as he looked at the rooftop of his company and saw that Loki was accompanying or more specifically, guarding Dr. Selvig.

"Everyone, Natasha found a way to close the portal however, we need the scepter on Loki's hand." Captain America spoke through the earpiece.

"I'll handle it." Without hesitation, Matilda answered.

"Okay, can you do it?"

"Don't underestimate me, captain. I've fought way more terrifying beings than him." Matilda replied as she snapped her neck and finger, making a clicking sound.

"Okay, I wish you good luck." Captain America said before cutting off the comms.

"Can you really do it?" Tony flew beside her and asked worriedly.

"What do you think of me? A defenseless little girl that will cry in her momma's arms? Heh, just watch me beat the shit out of this fake God!"
