Chapter 23: Rampage!

A few minutes before Alex's little mistake, Natasha swiftly guided Dr. Banner through the chaotic aftermath of the explosion, seeking a safer location. She was determined to protect him from further harm.

However, their respite was short-lived as an arrow struck them, hitting Dr. Banner on his leg.

Recognizing the arrow, Natasha quickly took Dr. Banner to cover.

"...Dr. Banner, you have to fight it. It is exactly what Loki wants!"

His body convulsed, and Natasha quickly pulled him up, reassuring him that he could regain control.

But Hawkeye launched another attack, forcing Natasha to come out of the cover, leaving Dr. Banner to fight Hawkeye.

The room erupted into a fierce battle.

Natasha and Hawkeye engaged in a flurry of intense combat, their movements blending seamlessly with each strike, parry, and dodge. As they exchanged blows, the air crackled with tension, their skills, and agility fully displayed.

Natasha weaved through Hawkeye's arrows with uncanny speed and agility, dodging and deflecting them with her nimble reflexes. Her strikes were swift and purposeful, landing accurately whenever an opening presented itself.

Hawkeye proved to be a formidable opponent, he unleashed a barrage of arrows, each aimed with deadly accuracy. Yet Natasha's quick thinking allowed her to anticipate and evade the projectiles, moving with grace and agility to stay one step ahead.

Their battle was a flurry of acrobatics and close-quarters combat. Natasha utilized her surroundings, utilizing furniture and debris as makeshift weapons, striking with calculated precision.

The sound of blows reverberated through the air as their fight intensified. Natasha's fists and legs were a blur of motion, delivering rapid strikes and expertly executed takedowns. Hawkeye countered with swift kicks and agile movements, utilizing his agility to keep Natasha on her toes.

"ROAARRR!!!"

But amidst their clash, a thunderous roar shook the room, drawing their attention to Dr. Banner's transformation.

Their faces mirrored a mixture of shock, awe, and concern as they beheld the hulking green figure that now stood before them—the Hulk.

Sensing the impending danger, Hawkeye swiftly retreated, closely followed by Natasha. However, the Hulk relentlessly pursued, his thunderous footsteps echoing through the room.

Cursing under her breath, Natasha made a split-second decision, leaping up through a nearby ventilation hole to reach the other side of the room.

Fueled by his immense strength, the Hulk effortlessly tore through the ventilation opening, continuing his relentless chase after Natasha.

Just as the situation seemed dire, Alex finally arrived on the scene, bursting through the wall with a determined look.

"Hey, Big guy! Good to see you again!"

He greeted the Hulk, hoping their old camaraderie would still hold weight. Sensing a new presence, the Hulk paused momentarily, allowing Natasha to continue her escape.

"I'll take over, go help others!" Alex said to Natasha as he walked closer to Hulk, who was watching him closely. She nodded at Alex in acknowledgment before swiftly moving away.

Filled with excitement, Alex took a few steps closer, thinking the Hulk recognized him. He couldn't contain his enthusiasm as he eagerly began to speak, "Holy! Dude, thank god you still recognize--"

A punch greeted him before he managed to complete his sentence, sending him crashing to the wall.

"...I knew it," Alex muttered in disbelief as he surveyed the damage to his broken mask. He sighed in relief as he reached into his vest, retrieving another mask. "Good thing I brought a spare..."

Not one to back down, Hulk charged toward Alex, letting out a thunderous roar.

But Alex, quick on his feet, easily evaded the colossal creature, sidestepping with nimble agility.

Spotting an opportunity, he swiftly retaliated, delivering a powerful kick that sent Hulk crashing through yet another wall.

"I guess that makes us even..."

Hulk's enraged roar echoed through the air as he charged toward Alex, his massive fists and thunderous kicks aimed at his opponent.

Alex, displaying impressive agility, expertly evaded each strike with nimble footwork and calculated movements.

"Come on, Big guy! You're getting rusty!" Alex's taunting words only served to fuel Hulk's anger further, intensifying his onslaught.

With a surge of strength, Hulk used the surrounding boxes as a means of distraction, swiftly closing the distance between them. His colossal fist collided with Alex's face, the impact reverberating through the room.

"...I tried to be nice! Know that you force me to do this!" Refusing to back down, Alex skillfully evaded Hulk's powerful blow, anticipating his opponent's every move.

Seizing the opportunity, he launched himself into the air, executing a perfectly timed kick that landed square on Hulk's face. The force behind the strike sent Hulk hurtling across the room, crashing into the unforgiving surface with a thunderous thud.

As Hulk struggled to regain his footing, shaking off the effects of the dizzying blow, a fleet of fighter jets swooped in, hovering in front of them right outside of the helicarrier.

Alex's eyes widened in alarm as he muttered, "Oh, shit!!"

Unfortunately for him, the jets relentlessly unleashed a barrage of gunfire at the Hulk, further fueling his rage.

With a thunderous leap, the Hulk soared through the air, crashing through the window of one of the jets, shattering it into pieces. Undeterred, he leaped once more, demolishing another jet in his path.

"Damn it!"

Alex couldn't help but curse in frustration, feeling overwhelmed by the chaotic scene unfolding before him.

Surveying his surroundings, his eyes fell upon a scattered arrangement of steel arresting wires, typically used to secure jets during landings. Inspiration sparked within him as he devised a daring plan.

"Well, well, looks like I'm more of a cowboy than a superhero now, huh?"

Filled with a mix of adrenaline and determination, Alex swiftly picked up one of the steel wires, coiling it around his hands, forming a makeshift lasso.

He patiently awaited the Hulk's next jump, swinging the wire in a circular motion like a seasoned cowboy preparing to tame a wild stallion.

Breaking another fighter jet, the Hulk let out a loud roar, eyeing the last remaining aircraft. Alex's eyes widened, realizing it was the perfect opportunity to strike. He quickly threw the wire, aiming to trap the raging Hulk.

With a powerful throw, the wire soared through the air, wrapping tightly around the Hulk's massive body. Alex couldn't contain his excitement and shouted with joy.

"Yes! I got him!"

However, Alex didn't anticipate the Hulk's weight and momentum. As the wire tightened, the Hulk's sheer force pulled Alex along, causing him to stumble backward and crash into nearby boxes.

"Damn it!"

Frustration filled Alex's voice.

Caught in the tangled wires, the Hulk unleashed a furious roar, directed right at Alex. Although the collision disrupted the Hulk's jump, he still managed to land heavily on top of the fighter jets.

Still trying to recover from the impact, Alex felt a surge of alarm coursing through him. He quickly turned his gaze towards the Hulk, realizing the imminent danger. Hulk's actions were unexpected as he took hold of the tail end of the wire, pulling it towards him.

"Oh no, this can't be happening!"

Realizing the dire situation, Alex's face contorted with fear and disbelief.

In a powerful display of strength, the Hulk roared again, exerting force to propel Alex towards him. Helpless, Alex soared through the air, only to be effortlessly caught by the Hulk's massive hands.
