Walking beside Saleh for a few minutes, and my nervousness was still apparent, I stared off into the distance and I noticed a building far ahead 'nearly there'. Closing my eyes, I wished that time would travel slower, I wasn't ready just of yet, today was my birthday and no one had said anything.
It made me wonder if anyone had forgotten about it, but remembering that Wrryan had asked when it was but he didn't say anything to me. 'Is that why I had breakfast alone with him...? haha, no, don't be silly Alicia'
"Are you alright?" I had forgotten that Saleh was with me, he came to stand in front of me and I was taken back. "Hey, are you alright?" he asked again. I came back to my senses and answered with a yes, he nodded and continued walking.
"Nervous?" he said such with curiosity in his voice.
"I am, I never once had thought that meeting the King and Queen would make me feel like this, it's like having a thousand eyes on you while performing".
Our conversation was cut short as I only heard a chuckle and silence. I rolled my eyes, 'wow' I thought. Having approached the building, Saleh lead me towards the throne room which only took a few minutes, this was the main part of the castle and looked more luxurious.
Arriving at the door, a guard announces that I am here, a voice was heard from within the room and the door was pushed open, my heart rate had picked up and I walked slowly before the couple. Once I reached them, I curtsied "King Ayre and Queen Ahshala, I am Alicia Lawson, it is my honour to see you both".
The Queen spoke first, "Rise my child, it is also our pleasure to meet with you. How have you settled in? Were Ziva and Wyrran attentive to your needs?"
I stood up and nodded, "They are very kind and welcoming, and my settling will me fine soon enough as I get nervous in new places."
The King coughed at the Queen, reminding her to get down to business.
"Alicia, cher. Do you know why we have summoned you here?" I shook my head, "No I do not...". Queen Ahshala hm'd in thought, "We asked you here today as it is your parents wish for you to come live with us. The day they had disappeared they came to us, seeking us to take you in, as it is where you belong."
My face has turned white as a sheet, "What do you mean?" the question came out quicker than I expected it to.
"We are the King and Queen of Atresiral, filled with four different races, humans, elves, foxes, and fairies. We had a daughter but unfortunately we had to abandon her. Our daughter, our own flesh in blood, was born part human, part fox and part elf. We do not know how her elf part came to come. My wife is a fox and I am a human, it is very rare for another race come into play with birth. And that is why we had to abandon her, as it was against our kingdom's people wants. We sent her off to another kingdom for safety, until now."
Everyone that was present in the room had looked at the King who had just spoke, the Queen's face had shown disapproval of his actions, she was meant to tell Alicia that she was the daughter, that she was the princess.
"Are you talking about me..? But what about the Princess that Ziva had told me that was away?"
"You are that Princess, cher." the Queen had continued instead of the King. I was in disbelief, how long had my parents known about this for? Was this planned? So many things had been thought of, I tried to come myself, I breathed in and out, at a slow pace, clearing my mind.
"Why am I here now? Why now, out of all times?" I demanded an answer, I was not going to leave until they answered. Both the King and Queen had looked to face each other and nodded in sequence.
"As today is your birthday, your 18th, you are now legally aged to live here, in Atresiral, you own the throne on my right."
Suddenly the guard outside had announced another's presence, he had walked in like he had owned the place, with such confidence and power.
"Your majesties" the boy had said bbefore bowing. He looked at me and gave a grin, I recognised him, "Remember me?" he asked with hope that I did
I didn't get to answer him, "Prince Klaern. What a surprise to visit us, as you can see, we are in the middle of something." the King had spoke with such anger that he interrupted an important meeting.
"I believe I am meant to be apart of this meeting as she is my wife to be."
