Lucky with The Stranger

"Mum? Dad?" The girl called out walking in the dark house, until she had hit her head on something soft like, the girl had taken a few steps backwards as she was starting to regain her vision back again, confused as to what she had hit, it suddenly grabbed both of her arms.

"AHHHH" the girl screamed loud enough for anybody close to hear "Shhhh, I'm not going to hurt you".

There was a window nearby only allowing a tiny amount of light in behind the man, he was tall, black hair, blue eyes with a hint of purple in them. He wore a black loose shirt with grey skinny jeans. Although it was dark, she could tell that he didn't look normal only by seeing a little bit of him.

"Who are you?" The girl still scared and confused as to what the man was doing in the house.

"It doesn't matter who I am" letting go of the girl, he took a step backwards, by now he was in the full light view, she could make out what she couldn't before.

His expression was blank, his ears weren't that of a human, ears were pointy, like an elf. He looked quite handsome she thought to herself.

"If you're not going to tell me who you are, can you tell me what you're doing here, especially in my house?" she looked at him, not breaking eye contact with the man. The man turns around and walks away murmuring "Your parents are gone".

The girl looked at the retreating figure, she thought she misheard but she kept replaying what he said in her mind, unable to understand what he meant, she went and chased after him, only to find him gone.

Thinking that this is a dream, she pinches herself multiple times only to find that this isn't a dream, this was reality.

Trying to understand what he meant, she thought of many things, only to find that it wasn't helping. She went inside the house only to search, she smiled at the memories that took place here. She wasn't sure whether to believe the stranger, he looked mysterious and not at all trusting.

Walking into their bedroom, she ran her fingers over the bed-frame while looking at everything, she exhales as she can't think of anything useful. She walks over to the wardrobe they both shared, looking in, she saw a little box in the corner.

She bent down and opened it, it was her 18th birthday gift that she was going to receive a few days later. Sighing, she took the gift, which was a necklace, it was beautiful, she planned to cherish it.

Standing back up straight, she walked over to the window, looking at the night sky. The clouds didn't let the moon shine anymore as it was going to rain. Birds were no longer flying, everything was quiet, trees were slowly moving out of rhythm with each other.

The girl stared out of the window for quite some time, her eyes not focusing on anything as she had

zoned out thinking of the possibilities of what had happened to her parents.

Regaining focus again, she had spotted something moving in the distance, she wasn't sure of what it was or what is was doing, she didn't care.

Not realising from the tree near the window, a man had been watching her closely through the window, wondering what she would do he had stuck around, only to find that she was a bore.

Taking one last glance at her, he let out a deep sigh "If only she was entertaining to watch" he said out loud. As he had spoken, thunder had made its presence and not long after rain. Thus, his eyes went full purple, vanishing as he had never been there watching her.

The girl hadn't slept a wink last night, walking back and forth countless times before realising what the man had meant, tears threatened to come out but being the strong daughter, she had always been, she didn't let them escape, she thought positive thoughts.

Leaving the house, she went around the town, asking people if they had seen her parents, some turned a blind eye and ignored her or said 'sorry but I haven't seen that person' or even if they did answer her, they would say 'ask someone else'.

It was useless she thought but she didn't give up.

The dark clouds were still covering the blue sky and weren't planning on leaving anytime soon. Not knowing what to do anymore, she went to her friend's place.
