Chapter 5 - What does she feel?

Lana stares at the ceiling of her room as she recalls Nick's plan on her sister.

"Why don't we help your sister to look for his Mr. Elevator? From what I see, Erica seems to be very fond of him, who knows if he's the one we've been looking for?"

"What about the original plan?"

"You know it's kind of impossible to actually proceed with it now; especially after Erica met the elevator guy."

"But we've been planning on it so neatly! It even gets me into trouble to get the tickets!"

"That's true…. But, we still need to consider about Erica's feelings here."

"Of course we are! The only reasons we're doing this is because of that!"

"We still can't go on with the plan…"

"But Nick!"

"…unless…"

"Unless?"

"Unless… if we make him the target from the start."

"What? Nick, you do realize that they just barely knew each other right? How can you have such an idea for sis?" Lana was so confused as Nick also knew about the fact that Erica just knew the stranger less than 48 hours ago and still propose the plan for her sister.

"Regardless on that, you do realize how Erica's been acting after the incident, don't you?" The young woman felt silence

"Then, what should we do?"

"For now, we need to do a quick research on him base on very little info we've got from the hotel's surveillance. Then approach and convince him to join our plan before the actual event." She sighs again as stands from her bed and turns towards her easel stand and grabs her material before starts to paint; it's been awhile since she felt inspired to paint something out of annoyed.

"Mr. Elevator… who exactly are you? What's so special about you that make my sister's been acting like that…" she throws her brushes to the floor and take a seat on her bed as she stares at the art she just finished; blankly.

On the very next day; Erica was planning on getting back to work even thought she was just recovered by the incident 2 days ago. Lana stopped her sister before she even gets the chance to step out of the front door.

"Sister! Where are you thinking you're going?" she holds Erica's arms as glares at her.

"Work, of course… where else could it be?"

"I'm actually will be happier if you just say you're taking a walk or go shopping rather than work. Besides, didn't the doctor tell you to stay at home for at least another week?"

"I'm fine… besides, it's too boring to stay at home all week; you know I can't go on without work." She pouts as glance at Lana with expectant in her eyes.

"No. You're not going anywhere today." Lana ignores her sister's plead and drag her back to the dining room.

"Sit here, I'll get you breakfast."

"Meany…" Auntie Debbie; the housekeeper, can't help but giggle at the scene of her young Madam, Erica whom was always a strict and serious person suddenly acting like a child whenever she was with Lana.

"It's still a no." Lana helps Aunt Debbie with the dishes and grabs a bowl of porridge for Erica.

"Dig in… Nick will be here in 30 minutes."

"Nick? Why; we're going somewhere?"

"Just eat up; I'll tell you later…"

"Hehe…" Lana realizes Aunt Debbie was still giggling behind them.

"Aunt Debbie, what's so funny? You've been giggling since earlier."

"Sorry… Madam, Miss Lana, I can't help but realize somehow you both kind of switch personalities this morning." Erica and Lana glance at each other before both of them burst into laughter.

"Morning…" Nick casually walks in before throw himself to the couch; he's been rather relax than before they met Lana 5 years ago.

"Why are you sitting up straight all the time, Nick?" The young Miss Lana looks at the well-dressed secretary as she tilts her head in astonish.

"I'm already pretty used to it by now, Lana. You don't have to worry; I'm pretty comfortable in this position."

"Liar… you keep nagging at me after work-hour because I was so-called forced you to sit straight and be in manners all the time." Erica got into the room before taking the sit beside Lana in her office.

"Really?"

"Yeah; he'll just stay like that when it's on working hour or when we're on working trips. But he'll eventually turn into a messy sloth when we're on breaks." Lana giggles at Erica's words as she sneer at her loyal secretary and best friend.

"Miss Erica." A tense in his voice.

"You said you are my sister's friend, which means you're my friend too; so, you don't really need to be too strict on rules when you're with just us." Lana words makes Nick felt more awkward then he did before; making him sit uncomfortably.

"Drop the casualties… you can act normal; we're pretty alone now. Besides, Lana was right; if you're my friend then that makes you are Lana's friends too. So just relax."

"But…"

"No buts, this is an order…" As she said that; Nick just sat still for a while before nodding and starts to look more relax.

Present;

"You're here… what took you so long?" Lana came from the kitchen after preparing something earlier.

"You said 30 minutes, right?"

"Well… yeah, but you could just came in earlier; at least we could ate breakfast together."

"Breakfast?" he sits straight as hearing the word 'Breakfast' from Lana.

"I thought you'll ask; try this." She excitedly puts a plate of freshly cooked dumplings in front of him with expectant.

"What is THIS?" he pokes one of the dumplings with a fork; curiously.

"Just try one…"

"You make these?" She nodded excitedly; Nick puts one inside his mouth with a questioning reaction with his eyes closed.

"How was it?" Nick peeks at her reaction; teasing her.

"Nick! How was it?"

"It's quite edible…"

"Really? Is it good?"

"Hmm…"

"He will spit it out by now; if it's bad. It must be good then, right; Nick?" Erica's voice echoed from the stairs as she walk down from her room; all dress up for the outing.
