Loveless boss

"I'm sure this is just a really big misunderstanding, Miss Erica..." The 'Miss Erica' seems to be not amused by the answer she received by the social club supervisor.

"Then, I'm sure this 'misunderstanding' could possibly be the reason why the great 'Angelic' club will be featured in the front page of the national news tomorrow; with the most unprofessional employee you'll ever experience." The young boss secretary; Nick Garner, speaks as he touches his glasses, giving a devilish aura with his smile.

The club supervisor looks pale as he keeps his head down; he signaling his employee to apologizes again.

"We are truly sorry, Miss Erica... please, I beg you not to do that; it's going to make a big flaw to our club's clean reputation." Again; the supervisor spoke as his employer keeps her head down too.

'She seems a little young to be working here' A though slips her mind as Erica looks at the young waitress who accidentally stains her dress with coffee. The young woman sighs as she raised from her seat; making the supervisor and the waitress shocked and step back a little.

"Miss Erica?" Nick's eyebrow's rise as Erica let out another sigh and signaling him to step aside. The young woman approaches the young lady who was still looking down at her feet with tears in her eyes. The supervisor seems restless at the scene and tries to approach Miss Erica; instead were blocked by Nick.

She stops right in front of the young waitress and touches her chin to take a look at her clearly; the girl looks shocked and grind her teeth nervously. She's indeed a little too young to be a waitress especially at a prestige club like here.

"What's your name, Missy?" Her voice sounds calming; without any sighs of rage.

"She's Lana... Lana Q... " the restless supervisor answered before became silent again with Nick's glance.

"My apologize, Miss Erica; i'll escort Mr. Tan and the others out to let you have some privacy with Miss Lana..."

"Sure..." they stay silence until the whole room was empty leaving the tall boss lady and the young waitress alone.

"Are you..."

"I'm really sorry Miss Erica! I'm really sorry! Please, please don't harm uncle Tan or this club, please!" Erica was shock at her words as she was begging for her mercy.

"I promise i'll pay for your dress! Even with all of my wages, my savings, i promise to pay it back, just please let go of uncle Tan!" The girl was still kneeling as she plead with tears in her eyes; Erica helped her up to her feet and comforts her.

"There, there… it's going to be fine…" She pats her head as Lana was still crying her eyes out. They stay like that for a few minutes before Erica ask her to take a seat next to her.

"Miss Erica…" Lana seems to be calmer now than before; but she still looks a bit frightened by Erica's presented.

"Just call me sis; I know you're way younger than me, right? How old are you anyway?" Lana nods before stole a look at the woman in front of her; she realizes Erica wasn't as scary as she was earlier, makes her relax a bit.

"I'm… 15… but please don't tell the others bout this; uncle Tan was helping me to get this job since I beg him to. He even helps me faking my age to the boss." Lana murmurs as she looks quite troubled.

"But… why? Why would you beg your uncle to help you to get this kind of job in the first place? You realized what kind of place is this, don't you?"

"If… if… I told you my story; will you promise me not to take any actions towards the club… or uncle Tan on what just happen today?" Erica just smirks at her request.

"Sure… but you have to be sincere and tell me everything; besides taking all the responsible on what happen today by yourself. Will you agree on that?"

"Fine… ah, I mean… yes, I'll sincerely take full responsibility on was just happen today; I'll accept any punishment from Miss Erica sincerely."

"Sis; you're supposed to call me sis…"

"Sorry… sis…"

"That's much better; you can start whenever you felt like it." Erica makes herself comfortable on the couch; Lana took a deep breath before begins.

"It started 8 months ago when my father was trying to escaped from some loan sharks; he was addicted with gambling since I was 5. My mom tried almost everything to stop him from his gambling addiction but neither one of them seems to be working. He first started his gambling addiction after having a school reunion with his old friend; who was known by the name Mr. White. Since then, father was never the father we knew before; he seldom come home and even got back drunk. The most hateful scene was to see my mom got beaten up by him almost every night just because he was bad at gambling and lost a lot. For tempting to his addiction to gambling; he owes some money from the loan sharks, we didn't really got effect by it since father didn't came home for almost 3 months after that. Until; 8 months ago… he come back looking disturbed and frightened; we never saw him like that before." The young girls pause as she sips on some water to clear her throat.

"Did he come back to disturb you and your mother again?" Lana shakes her head with a smile.

"No, he didn't. In fact he was there to tell us to move out of our house as soon as possible coz the loan sharks already knew about our home address. Father was trying to save us…but…" she paused again; seems troubled.

"What happen?" Erica took Lana's hand in hers.

"He got into an accident while trying to lure the bad guys away from us."

"And?"

"He's still in the hospital; in coma… mom and I have to take the full responsibility for the money father owes and the hospital bills…" her eyes were teary again.

"Here's the deal… you stop working here; and…"

"No! I can't! I can't do that! Sis, please! I need this job; I need to help mom with the money dad owes and we still needs to pay the hospital bills… please!"

"Can't you listen to me first?"

"Sorry…" Lana lowers her gaze.

"Listen; you're going to stop working here and stay with me…"

"Stays with you?" without any reply from Erica; the young woman takes out her phone and calls her secretary.
