Amanda, a twenty six years old woman had died of severe food poisoning after eating some street food, found herself in the body of an eight year old starving girl. At first, she was finding it hard to believe her new circumstance because it was just unreal. She had never heard or read from the bible about taking over a new body after death! However, her growling stomach made her quickly come back to her senses.
"I need food real fucking quick," she inaudibly said, rubbing her stomach. She looked around but all she could see were he fellow starving street urchins. That was when memories flooded in her brain.
"So the former owner of the body was a street child. That would be heartbreaking if I did not inherit this body, fuck!" she cursed. "I already have a disadvantage this early on in my second life, this is so unfair." As if those words were the trigger, a second set of memories flooded her brain again.
"What the hell? Lady Shiva's fighting experience ingrained to my body and the power of SHAZAM?" she exclaimed in shock.
She had heard of SHAZAM due to its box office movie and while she was slightly impressed, the fact that she had to say those words in order to transform was a little off-putting. However, she had never heard of Lady Shiva due to her disinterest to any comics or animes. She was a workaholic through and through.
Amanda felt her body grow hot before all sorts of memories regarding fighting moves and techniques filled her brain. She did not know it but her muscles were been ingrained with decades of fighting experience from one of the most dangerous female martial artist in the DC universe. Subconsciously, her sitting posture straightened and her overall form changed to one of a fight or fight kind of posture.
"This feels unreal!" she said to herself before getting up. Her hunched former self was now a straight back, sharp looking eight year old girl who looked unafraid of anything. She was still marveling at her new self when her stomach growled again, reminding her she needed to eat.
"I refuse to eat left overs again," she said with hate. She died of food poisoning, risking another food poisoning ideal was not on her bucket list. Thinking back, her new set of skills would serve her well. She could see she was in a huge city and in here, lots of people will walk around with full wallets. She would target those that look like they can miss their wallets for a few hours and then get herself fed and cleaned up.
Thinking of this, she walked out of the alley she was staying with and her calculative eyes started searching for a target. Lady luck was on her side for she saw a middle aged man eyeing an approaching car sinisterly. She decided to watch what he would do and was not disappointed.
When the car, a luxurious looking SUV was a couple distance away, the man sprang into action. He pretended to suddenly walk across the street, appearing right in front of the SUV. Expertly, he managed to dodge gaining fatal injuries by jumping towards the windshield which cracked under his weight and force, sending him flying forward while the car came to a stop.
Immediately, the pedestrians started filming this while three women got out of their car and went to check on the man screaming bloody murder. Amanda found herself smiling as a plan came into her mind. She ran forth, putting a frightened look on her face and knelt besides the middle aged man.
"Uncle Luis! Uncle Luis! No, how could this happen? Uncle Luis, talk to me! Don't die, Uncle Luis, you haven't bought me a new doll house!" she sobbed as she secretly hit the man on his acupuncture point, making him slowly black out. Never in all his ears did he think his con would actually bring in an even bigger con artist! When the audience and the women saw him go unconscious, they finally believed and the audience started berating the women.
"You actually hit this man so hard! What is wrong with you?"
"Look at their clothes, they are rich people, they don't give a damn about us poor people!"
"I bet they are regretting stopping now,"
More and more comments spewed out of the audience, leaving the women scared. It was too late to get into their car and drive off, they had to take responsibility now. Looking at the little girl crying her eyes off, they couldn't bear leave this issue as it was.
"Mandy, call the ambulance!" one of the women told the driver who was shaking like a leaf.
"R...Right!" the woman managed to say, took out a phone with the logo of Stark Industries and dialed 911. Amanda knew her jig would be up so she had to act fast.
"So that's your plan, huh? Call the ambulance then run away, leaving me and my uncle in debt! No, you have to pay at least the ambulance fee upfront. Give me two thousand dollars or I will bite you all to death!" she shrieked, jumping at one of them and holding on tight. The woman was scared shitless by the new development that she tried to shove her away. But, Amanda was nimble and with the correct posture, she would just appear to be barely holding on while been pushed off mercilessly. This got the audience riled up, scaring the women even more.
"Wait, wait, here, this is five thousand dollars," the one named Mandy said as she took out a stack of cash and gave it to her. "There, with this, I can promise you can take your uncle to the hospital and we will be right behind you." Amanda took the money, counting it all in an instance before nodding at Mandy.
"Fine, since you are sincere, I will agree. But, I must bring my brother over. Don't let the ambulance leave before I return," she said before she jogged off, appearing to be anxious and entered an alley. Out of sight, she increased her speed and disappeared into the traffic of the other side. However, she heard a shrill cry of pain before she did so.
"MY MONEY!"
