TRAGEDY

"I GONNA BECOME THE KING OF THE PIRATES."

Uta looked at him, he was serious, Luffy isn't the one to lie about his dreams. She stared at his shinning eyes as he smiled at her, and she felt that if anyone could become the King of the Pirates, it would be him. She didn't quite know why she believed this but her heart was racing as he smiled at her, and something about him made her trust in him completely.

"What about you Uta?? What's your dream!!??" Luffy asked, looking at her.

"My dream??" Uta looked out to the sea, "My dream is to create a New Era with my songs, I want to bring happiness and joy and peace to everyone in the world with my music!! I want to create a New Genesis." She said while smiling.

"Create a New Era!??" Luffy's eyes were wide at hearing that, 'Satoru, this world is full of Monkeys, they are just roaming here and there without even knowing what truly is happening in this world. That is why I want to create a world only for Jujutsu Sorcerers, a world where people like us can live without sacrificing themselves'. 'It is just like Geto's dream, but in a right way.' He looked at Uta and smiled at her, "Then I'll make a New Genesis as well with you when I become the King of the Pirates!! SHISHISHISHI..." 'Wait did I laugh like that??'

"Ehhh!!?? You can't copy me!!" Uta pouted.

Luffy sat back down a bit closer to Uta, with him next to her she felt so warm even though there was a cold breeze. She laid her head on his shoulder, and he let her and they sat like that for a bit.

"Then it is decided I guess" Uta said quietly, "We will make a New Genesis together with our dreams."

Luffy nodded smiling, then laying his head on hers, they both sat there for awhile and ended up falling asleep.

'Geto, if you are listening to me my friend then know that, I'm going to change this world and make it a place where no one has to suffer for anyone. And for that to happen...I need to become stronger, Stronger than my previous self, Stronger than anyone else... And this time I won't be alone, because this time.... MY FUTURE CREW WILL BE BY MY SIDE'.

It was early morning and Shanks walked up the cliff, smiling at seeing Luffy and Uta sleeping in the grass. The crew was looking for Uta since they had to set sail, Shanks looked out towards the sea.

"Captain, are we heading out??" Hongo the crew's doctor yelled up at him, waving. "Yeah, just give me a minute to wake these two up!!" Shanks said dismissing Hongo.

At the docks, the Red-Haired pirates were ready to set sail again for their new voyage, they are just waiting for Uta to say her farewell to Luffy and Makino. "Bye Makino and do not forget our promise to teach me 'that recipe!!' " Makino just laughed at that, "Of course Uta, I will teach you 'that recipe' " "Hey hey, what kinda recipe you ladies are talking about!!??" Luffy asked them while sucking on his Cherry flavoured lollipop, "SHUT UP LUFFY... IT'S A SECRET!!" Uta yelled at him, while trying to hide her blush,. "Is this is how you talk to your friend?? You hurt me Uta-'Hime' " Uta just blushed harder and started to hit Luffy, Shanks who was listening to their conversation, now has a huge tick mark on his forehead. 'This brat, how dare he call my princess 'Princess' '.

Luffy just laughed at Uta, but stopped suddenly when he felt her hugging him tightly and he hugged her back. "Take care of yourself, Uta" "You too, idiot". Luffy just smiled at that and they broke the hug, "When we will return from this voyage, I am going to challenge you again and like always, I will win, Looosserrr...." "Oh... we will see about that!!!

After saying her goodbyes, Uta boarded on her ship and slowly the ship started to sail away.

"HEY UTAAA…." Luffy yelled from the port.

Uta looks behind her at Luffy, "WHAAATTTT???"

"BE SAAFEEE…"

Uta was confused by this, "OF COURSE I WILL…" and with that the Red-Force is now out of his site. Luffy didn't know my, but he has a feeling that something bad is going to happen on this voyage of hers, consider it his instinct of Satoru Gojo. But now he can't do anything except only wishing their safety.

On the Red-Force, Uta was at the back of the ship watching as the Village soon disappears at the horizon, she didn't know why but she felt like something wasn't there anymore in her as she left, even though the island became out of her view, she still stood there looking at the horizon where the island was.

"Already missing him??" Shanks asked smiling at her. "No I'm not!!" Uta angrily replied, "Why would I miss him?? Besides, living out on the sea is better." She wasn't lying about the part where living out on the sea was better, but she was missing Luffy, a lot more than she thought she would. She continued to watch the sea and recalling all the various challenges they had competed in.

"You know it's not bad to miss someone. Especially your first ever friend." Shanks said patting her head. She just looked away avoiding his gaze, which he chuckled at. "Where are we going exactly!!???" "That's a surprise, you will find out when we get there." Saying that Shanks walked away.

"Not fair…" Uta pouted, she looked back at the sea one more time before going to her room for a nice and long nap.

FEW DAYS LATER---

Uta was in her room when heard a knock on her door, she immediately opened the door to find out it was Shanks, "Oh Shanks!!! Did we arrived yet??" "Yes, we have just got in the view of the island." Hearing this, Uta ran out of her room on the main deck and saw a big island with a large city that was lit up from all the lights. "Where are we??" she asked Shanks who is now standing beside her, "Elegia, the Island of Music." He replied smiling at her.

Uta quickly looked back at the island, walking closer to the front of the ship, feeling a surge of excitement run through her. She really was about to set foot on the Island of Music, it was like a dream. Suddenly she was lifted up by Shanks in his arms, "We will stay here for a day before continuing our voyage, let's enjoy it while we can."

Uta nodded excitedly, she quickly got off from Shanks embrace and ran to her room to get into some nicer clothes. Once she finished dressing, she walked towards the crew, who were lowering the stairs down to the dock, which she walked down. She looked over to see a crowd of people waiting and as they saw her, they cheered. It was a bit overwhelming to her that all these people came to meet them. She wasn't used to this type of stuff.

"Please give her some space!! Don't scare her" A man said walking out of the crowd of people, Shanks was just walking down the stairs and saw the man. "You must be King Gordon." Shanks said, reaching out to shake his hand, "I must thank you for letting us come to this Island." "That would be me and you're very welcome." Gordon said shaking Shanks hand, then he looked at Uta, "This would be Uta I presume?"

Gordon was looking at her by which she got overwhelmed, so she got closer to Shanks. "Yes, she is" Shanks said, "She is also our crew's musician." Gordon smiled then he spoke to her, "Shanks has told me a lot about you, he said you have a truly wonderful voice. We here in Elegia welcome anyone who has a love for music like we do even if they are pirates." Gordon makes way in the crowd so Uta and Shanks along with the crew could tour the town. As they went, Uta saw so many different things, musicians playing songs along the path, people smiling, music stores selling tone dials with song recorded in them and many more things. 

"As you can see, the country is filled with musicians, singers and many instruments and songs." Gordon explained it to them, as he led them on the tour. Uta, Shanks, Benn were the only ones still following Gordon, the rest of the crew left to explore on their own, with Benn also left soon after. Uta was dazzled by all the music and singing. As they walk around, Gordon showed them many things in the town and when people saw Uta they greeted her with kindness.

"Uta, me and my people wants you to sing for us before you leave, if you don't mind, can you perform tonight in our auditorium??" Gordon asked Uta, then he looks at Shanks, "If she is willing to, would you let her??" "I'm fine with it, I'd love for people to enjoy her amazing music." Shanks said then looked at Uta, "Would you want to sing for a big crowd??" Uta thought for a bit then nodded. Even though singing in front of such a large crowd seemed a bit intimidating, but if she wanted to succeed in her dream then she must sing in front of the world.

Gordon smiled at that, then started to speak again, "I should tell you guys about our history." He said while looking forward, "Would you like to listen?" he turned and looked at Shanks and Uta, both nodded their heads. "A long time ago, Elegia wasn't the Island of Music it was quite the poor island but still managed. We had a forever love for music, but it wasn't until a certain woman came to Elegia with a special power and an abundant love for music." As Gordon told the story, they walked towards a big building that almost seemed like a museum.

"When she arrived, she introduced herself and told us about her powers which she had gained from eating a certain type of Devil Fruit." Gordon said, as they walked towards the entrance of the building, "She said it was Sing-Sing Fruit, and it had the power to allow music to be brought to life in a ways no one could imagine." They entered the museum and Uta was in awe at all the instruments, song sheets and many other things revolving around music, including the history of Elegia. Gordon was about to continue the story, but before he did Shanks interrupted him. Uta looked at Shanks who was listening very closely to Gordon. 

"The Sing-Sing Fruit you say?" Shanks asked.

"Yes, do you know of the fruit??" Gordon asked.

"I've heard of it, but we do not know anything about it." Said Shanks, but Uta knew this was a lie because she ate the Sing-Sing fruit and has its powers, but she didn't said anything. "I see, shall I continue the story?" to which both nodded. "Well, when she arrived, she spread her beautiful voice throughout Elegia bringing peace and hopes to everyone, even in the poverty and despair we had been facing." 

'What a wonderful woman she must have been, she was able to bring peace and hope to everyone in this country with just her voice. I want to be able to do that but even more for my New Genesis'. Thought Uta.

"Everything for the country was getting better, they even named her the Queen of Elegia," Gordon said, but soon his smile went away, "But all good things must come to an end, one day something happened causing her to go into deep depression."

"Did anyone know what happened to her??" Shanks asked.

"No, all we know is that she ended up taking her life after something occurred." "What certain things??" Shanks asked, Uta wondered as well. What would drive such a kind and amazing person like this Queen to end her own life.

"I apologize, but I can't tell you more. That part of the story is only known to the Kings and Queens of Elegia." Gordon replies, dismissing Shanks and Uta's curiosity, but Shanks felt that Gordon was hiding something important, but the island didn't involve them. They came here because they wanted to give Uta a new experience with music and wanted her to have a good time, since she had been really attached to Luffy recently as he was her only friend.

Uta although curious, didn't pry. Shanks brought her here to have a good time, so she should make the most of it.

"Shall we go to the Auditorium to prepare for the show??" Gordon asked changing the subject. "I guess we should." Said Shanks, then looked over at Uta, "Are you ready!!??"

"Yes, I guess I am" she happily replied.

Uta was in the back of the auditorium, sitting in a small room that the people gave her to get ready. They told her that she only needs to sing one song, which she was fine with, she will much rather ease into singing for a super large crowd with just one song. She had one song that she had written and finished just recently before their voyage, but she has yet to get a chance to sing it. She gave the music sheets to the band that will play music for her as she sings, and all she has to do is get ready.

KNOCK KNOCK…

"Can I come in?" she heard Shanks voice, asking through the door.

"Yes"

Shanks opened the door and looked towards Uta, smiling, she was sitting at her desk reading over the lyrics of her song to make sure she remembers them.

"Are you ready for the show?" he asked, as he shut the door behind him walking over to sit by her side. "I hope I am, if I want to succeed in following my dream then I have to be able to do this." "Are you enjoying this stop!!??" Uta nodded, she really glad Shanks and the crew took her here. The island is truly filled with music everywhere, and she is surrounded by people who love music just as much as she does.

"I'm really glad, we figured you would miss Luffy a lot especially since you guys have gotten so close. So we decided to treat you to something at the start of the voyage." Shanks said. Uta was amazed by that, Did the crew really do this all for her? All of them agreed to it? She should thank them later. "Thank you Shanks."

KNOCK KNOCK… they were interrupted as a woman who knocked spoke through the door, "Five more minutes till your performance starts, are you ready?"

"Yeah, I'm ready." Uta replied back before looking at Shanks who was ready to leave, "Well, I best get to the seats, me and the crew will be at the front row." He said as he put his Straw-Hat on and walked to the door. "I have a new song for you guys!!!" he stopped when he heard that, "Well, we can't wait to hear it!" with that he walked off the room.

Few minutes later Uta opens the door and is led towards the stage where the curtains were closed and the band was ready. There was a microphone close to the front of it where she would be singing.

"You got this, everyone can't wait to hear your voice." The woman said encouraging her.

Uta walked over to the microphone than looked back and nodded to the woman, signaling that she is ready. The woman walked away to open the curtains. Uta looked over at the band of young students, who have been practicing and are quite good at playing their instruments, they gave her a thumps up that they were ready.

"Okay, just breathe Uta." She whispered to herself, taking a deep breath and then the curtains started to open. Everyone cheered as they saw Uta and she nodded towards the band to start the music. As they started, she began to sing.

As the crowd cheered, the music played. The instrumental part was playing, and Uta breathed some, and then continued as the crowd died down.

As she finished the song, everyone stood up and started to clap as they cheered. Uta looked around the crowd smiling and then she bowed, then she looked at Shanks who was sitting with the crew as they clapped, smiling at her.

"I did it!!" she said, even though she knew Shanks wouldn't be able to hear her from that far, but she knew that he would get the message, which in returned he gave her a thumps up.

After awhile, the crowd moved all the chairs away and started setting up tables because the plan was to have a party since Uta and Shanks would be leaving the next morning. 

"Uta, I'd like to talk with you." Shanks said, as he walked by her beckoning her to follow. Uta followed him and they went to one of the balconies that looked over the city. They sat there for a while, then Shanks broke the silence, "You seems to really enjoy singing back there." "Hmm? I guess!!" Uta said, wondering where the conversation is going, "You sure you wouldn't rather sing for a big crowd instead for us??" "It's not like that." But Shanks only looked at her, "Yknow Uta….things like peace and equality don't really exist in this world." She was silently listening him, waiting for his point in this, "But your voice…It's one thing that can bring happiness to everyone in the world." "What are you talking about??"

"You can stay if you want to" Shanks said as he crouch down to her level, "I'll come pick you up when you become the greatest singer in the world."

"STUPID!!! I'M RED-HAIRED PIRATES MUSICIAN. IF YOU'RE ASKING ME TO CHOOSE BETWEEN LEARNING ABOUT MUSIC AND LEAVING….LEAVING YOU GUYS…" she yelled at him, then slowly started to cry.

"Okay, I get it" Shanks said, reaching out to hug her, "You've got a point. We can sail out tomorrow."

After sitting there for a bit, both walked back into the building.

The party was on its way and Uta was hanging around a group of people holding out music sheets to give to her. Suddenly she heard a window shot open, she looked around to see no one noticed it but only her. She walked over to the window looking out of it.

'That was weird, there isn't any strong wind or breeze, why did it open??' Uta thought, as she closed the window. She then started to walk away but she felt this presence, she looked over to one of the benches and there were some old dirty music sheets on it.

"What are those?" she wondered as she walked over and picked them up, "What language is this?" she squinted her eyes, but all of a sudden the words began to become readable and she felt an urge to start singing this song on the sheet. "I may as well…" Uta whispered and opened her mouth as she started to sing.

Suddenly right when she started singing, darkness surrounded her and everything went black….

"UTA!" Shanks yelled as the shadows from the papers she was holding enveloped her, a massive burst of unknown power was flying around the room from where Uta was, many people were flown back.

"What's going on!" Benn yelled, as he caught one of the citizens setting them down and telling them to run.

"I don't know! Uta was just enveloped in that darkness!" Shanks yelled at Benn.

As people ran out of the church, where Uta was just standing, a creature started to form. Shanks could tell it was powerful and unsheathed his sword. He looked over and saw Gordon, the king of Elegia, on the floor with a face filled with fear and worry.

"Everyone!" Shanks called to his crew. "We must save the citizens and Uta!"

The crew all yelled in agreement, and they all started to prepare for battle.

"Let's go!" Shanks yelled as he charged forward, he covered his sword in Armament Haki and sliced at the forming entity, but it was blocked by some invisible force. The creature that was forming almost looked like a demon, and it destroyed the building as it finally formed.

"Shanks! Be careful!" Yelled Gordon, Shanks looked behind him at Gordon who had blood coming down from his head and a stab wound from a sharp wooden shard that flew into his side when the building was destroyed.

"Do you know what this thing is? You must tell us everything quickly!" Shanks said quickly, before preparing another attack.

"Its name is Tot Muscia! It's the Demon King of Songs!" Gordon said. "It's only ever been summoned once before! And only a Sing-Sing Fruit user can create it into existence with its music sheets!"

"Alright that's good enough for me." Shanks said as he leaped forward at a fast speed, charging towards Tot Musica as it was headed to the town.

Meanwhile inside Tot Musica, it was almost like an endless void of darkness. In the middle of it was Uta, her eyes hollow as if she had no willpower. She wasn't even able to process anything, even though she was watching everything happening in front of her, she couldn't do anything.

"Whats.... going on??" Uta said, with a soft barely audible voice. The darkness surrounded her, and no one could hear anything she said. Uta watched as Shanks and the crew attacked this being that held her, and attempted to save anyone they could.

"Why is this happening to me??" Uta said, as she mentally broke down alone, in this darkness, with no one to be there for her. She watched as this demon killed people, she couldn't do anything, it was all her fault.

Shanks and the crew fought, as they did, Hongo attempted to save anyone who was wounded but most of them are already dead, but he managed to treat Gordon's injuries.

"We can't stop it Shanks!" Yelled Yasopp, as he watched Tot Musica shot a massive beam at the houses killing more people.

"We have to save Uta no matter what!" Shanks yelled as he covered his sword in Conquerors Haki over the Armament. He prepared to attack, and then leaped forward with incredible speed with his blade outstretched in front of him.

Uta watched as she killed everyone, not able to do anything. She had been losing her energy this whole time and she was about to fall asleep, just before she closed her eyes she saw Shanks leap forward, time almost seemed to slow down as Uta watched him fly at her. Before Shanks attack hit, Uta fell asleep.

"Where is Uta!??" Shanks yelled as the demon dissipated after his attack landed, looking around frantically.

"Right there in the sky!" Yasopp yelled, and Shanks looked up seeing Uta slowly fall to the ground which he leaped up and caught her before she hit the ground. He is now holding her in his arms, as she slept. Gordon walked over holding his bandaged side, looking down at Uta.

"Tot Musica was defeated, thanks to you guys." Gordon said as he looked around, "But it seems like I am the only survivor of Elegia..." His expression saddened. Shanks looked up at Gordon "I apologize for not telling you she ate the Sing-Sing Fruit, maybe this could have been prevented if I said something..." Shanks said looking down at Uta again. Gordon looked down at Uta, she wasn't at fault for this. He was, he should have told Shanks about Tot Musica, he shouldn't have let the citizens play Uta singing around the whole island. It was his entire fault, he then looked at Shanks who was looking at him.

"Tell me about this Tot Musica…you said this was the second time it had appeared and could only be summoned by a Sing-Sing Fruit user." Shanks said, looking at Gordon with a serious expression. Gordon sighed, "Remember when I told you about the woman that became the first Queen of Elegia? Like I said, she ate the Sing-Sing Fruit as well and brought a new life to music in Elegia. This all occurred nine hundred years ago, in what the world calls the Void Century, we only know our islands history during that time though."

Shanks nodded, remembering the history Gordon shared with Uta and him. But this happened almost 900 years ago that no one knew about, except for Roger and the crew that made it to Laughtale. This surprised Shanks and intrigued him even more.

"But as I said a tragic event occurred and, in the end, she ended her life." Gordon said, "What happened was her best friend died, right in front of her eyes by an assassin who was about to kill her."

Shanks listened closely, trying to learn everything he could about the history of Elegia. Gordon then continued, "She was filled with grief and anger at the death of her friend, and through all those emotions she summoned the Demon King of Songs somehow, the whole island was ravaged and destroyed, but a man arrived on the Island and ended up defeating Tot Musica saving the few dozen citizens that were still alive. When Tot Musica was defeated, music sheets appeared where it was dissipated."

Shanks wondered who this man was, if he defeated Tot Musica on his own, he must have been very impressive. Shanks then thought for a moment, and realized this person very well could be 'JOYBOY'.

"When the queen recovered, she ended up taking her life right when she found out about what she had done out of regret and grief." Gordon said.

"What was this man's name?" Shanks asked, looking at Gordon.

"That I'm afraid was lost in time, I don't know, nor did any of the Kings and Queens before me." Gordon said.

Shanks then got up and walked towards the castle carrying Uta. The castle wasn't too destroyed due to being farther up the mountain above the town. Gordon stayed, looking around at the destroyed Island which was still burning.

Eventually Shanks returned, without Uta and the crew seemed to be preparing to leave.

Shanks looked at Gordon "Could you do me a favor, and not tell Uta about what she has done? I don't want her to think it's her fault." Shanks said.

"You're going to leave Uta here?" Gordon asked.

"Yeah, her voice can bring happiness to everyone in the world." Shanks said, smiling. "It would be a waste to keep her cooped up on our ship."

Before Gordon could respond, he saw flashing out in the sea, as a Navy Battleship approached. Shanks sighed seeing them, then ordered his crew to prepare to head to the ship.

"I'll take the blame for everything that happened." Gordon said.

"No, it should be us." Shanks said, and Gordon quickly looked over at him surprised. "Tell the Navy we did it, we will take the blame for you." Shanks said, and Gordon just nodded. "Do you have any treasure we can take to make it convincing?"

Gordon nodded and gave them all the treasure that survived the incident, and Shanks and his crew started to leave.

"Tell Uta we did it as well, please" Shanks said as he left, and Gordon nodded.

Uta woke up abruptly, confused about where she was. Her memory was foggy, but all she knew was she wasn't on the Red-Hair pirate's ship. She looked out the window and saw the city of Elegia burning, with flames everywhere. She quickly got out of bed and ran outside and ran into Gordon who was watching the flames.

"Gordon... What happened...." Uta asked looking around. "Where is Shanks???" Uta asked desperately.

"They took everything! Shanks and his crew destroyed Elegia, they lied to you and used your singing to get into the island!" Gordon yelled, "He has left with all the treasure after killing everyone but me."

"No... HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT!" Uta screamed as tears ran down her face, she then started to run towards the docks hoping Shanks was still there. She ran through the burning city, towards the dock quickly, she tripped slamming into the ground but got up and continued running.

Gordon ran after her quickly, as she ran out of the city, she reached the docks seeing Shanks ship leaving as Navy shot at them in pursuit.

"SHANKS! DONT LEAVE ME!" Uta screamed towards the boat leaving as she ran across the dock to the water, Gordon right behind her trying to stop her. She reached the end of the dock and tried jumping in the sea, but Gordon caught her, she watched as Shanks kept going.

Uta wailed as she watched them leave, hearing their laughter. "Why...? Why would you do this?!" Uta screamed with tears in her eyes. She watched Shanks leave, as she was there being held by Gordon.

Shanks and the crew sat at the back of the ship facing away from the island, while they were laughing, they all had tears streaming down their faces.

"Let's be happy! As our wonderful musician sets off on her own, to follow her own path!" he said, as tears kept streaming down his eyes.

Uta didn't hear him say that. She was stuck on the island helplessly being held back by Gordon, as she tried to jump in the sea. She watched the ship got out of view, and she continued to cry.
