Chapter 16: Debutante

Ariadna POV

Tonight will be my social debut along with my birthday. I am so excited and nervous at the same time.

"My lady, is the makeup to your liking?"

My handmaid asked. I smiled as a reply, I looked my self in the mirror when someone was knocking at the door.

"Is my princess ready?"

Father smiled and reached out his hand. I grabbed his arm and walked together with him. As we arrived at the ballroom there were many people staring at me. I felt nervous and wanted to hide but instead I clenched my hand at my father's arm. Father looked at me, trying to comfort me.

"Im here, you can do this"

"Yes, I can do this"

We walked down the stairs as the people continued to stare at us. At the end of aisle, I saw Erden waiting for me. Father took my hand and placed it to Erden's hand.

"Shall we, My Lady?"

His face was so handsome that my heart was beating fast. My face was a beet red. He then walked me to the dancefloor. The music started and we also started dancing, I can't look at him in the eye because I was instantly embarrassed of my face after seeing him making me conscious of myself.

"My Lady? Look at me"

"..."

"Ari, let me see you closely at the least"

I stared at his eyes, eye to eye. He smiled and caressed my face. I feel my face burning from his touch. The music stopped signaling its time for the 2nd dance.

"My apologies, I must leave"

He quickly left me. I didnt want to let him go but I have no right. So left him be. I watched him walked away regretting of what I just did. Then someone patted my shoulder

"Ari, May I have this dance?"

"Estann.."

"I know I was a jerk, forgive me for my behavior"

He sounded so serious its like its not even him. As we started dancing I realized how he conversed with me too formally. I looked at him awkwardly but confused at the same time.

"Estann, what did I ever do to you"

"Nothing. I guess my feelings are irrelevant to you"

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't worry I wont bother you anymore."

As the 2nd dance concluded he immediately left without saying anything. As the party still commences I was escorted by Kabel in greeting the guests. Everything was going perfectly well until..
