Chapter 17: Unexpected Events

Ariadna POV

As I looked back, I saw my Uncle Sou grinning at me with his son at his side.

"Im sorry I'm must be rude not telling my name. I'm your Uncle Sou and this is my son Argen"

Argen walked towards me and kissed my hand and looked at me, grinning.

"Long time no see cousin"

"Unexpected to see you here, Argen"

I replied. Uncle Legos quickly butted in and hid me behind his back staring angrily at Uncle Sou.

"You were forbidden on stepping on the lands of Vastia, what are you doing here?"

"I invited them"

Father answered, Uncle Legos and Uncle Vard looked shocked as they are staring at Father.

"Ari have fun with your cousins. Marika is waiting for you"

I nodded in reply. As I was walking away, They were in a serious conversation until there was a loud sound outside the palace. People started to shout and ran towards the exit. Me, who doesn't know what is happening looked back at my father and saw him Erden and Uncle Legos carrying Uncle Vard that was stained with blood. I ran over with Kabel and Marika.

"What happened Father"

"I thought He would change but I was a fool to believe that"

Father said while tying up a cloth into Uncle Vard's wound to stop the bleeding. Marika was teary eyed

and hugged his father.

"Daddy what happened"

"Marika, shhh do not cry I will be okay"

Kabel looked around and noticed something strange

"Where is Sou and Argen? Where is Estann?"

Then there was a knight rushing towards Uncle Legos

"Sire, Its Sou's men and Monoren's men that's causing havoc outside the palace burning everything down and killing our men."

I looked at Erden and his eyes widened about the news, then he helped father carry uncle to safety. Kabel holding my wrist and Marika's. Uncle Legos ordered the knights to secure the inner perimeters of the palace.

"Father who did this to Uncle Vard?"

"It was Estann, he joined with Tyros. Him and Sou"

I was shocked at the news. I never knew he was capable of doing this. then it hit me, that was the reason why he said he would never show his face to me again. I was saddened and angry at Estann's betrayal.

"Ari, Im sorry I know this isn't your ideal debut"

"Uncle Vard, It's okay. You are not someone who can control events that would happen"

"That son of mine, I never knew he has that kind of grudge against me. I guess I was lacking as a father"

Uncle Vard started to cry while hugging at my father. The fight outside lasted hours and finally there was peace and silence.
