Chapter Eight

Three months later. There was knock on the door. Eva walked over to the door, opened it, saw Valkar, and quickly tried to shut it. Valkar stopped the door and pushed it open. He said “I finally found you.” Valkar walked into the house and pushed Eva against the wall.

Eva said “what do you want?”

Valkar said “I want to be king, I deserve to be king.”

“A good king wouldn’t act like this.”

“You have no idea what a king would do, now where are they?”

Upstairs Percy put Jax in his crib and Katarina put Thalia in her crib.

Percy said “Katarina you don’t have to do this.”

Katarina said “help you put your children to sleep.”

“I mean you don’t have to help us, so why are you?”

“I believe we should be united and I’m in love with a werewolf.”

“Wow how did that happen?”

“Maybe you should go see who’s here.”

Percy walked down when he saw Valkar holding Eva against the wall. He attacked him and said “Eva run.” Eva ran up the stair and was met by Katarina at the top.

Katarina said “what’s going on?”

Eva said “Valkar found us.”

Katarina said “stay here” and ran down the stairs. She began to fight Valkar.

Upstairs in Jax and Thalia’s room. Jax and Thalia were fighting telepathically. They were younger in age but not in their minds. Thalia said “this is all your fault.”

Jax said “it’s not my fault it’s yours.”

“My fault how is it my fault, wait Jax did you just hear that?”

“I heard it too, dads dead.”

A tear ran down their faces. Thalia said “this all our fault, we’ve been so busy blaming each other, now Kat and mom are gonna die too.”

Jax said “and we can’t stop him because we’re babies.”

“Jax I’m so sorry for what I said, I didn’t mean it.”

“I know I didn’t mean what I said either, I love you sis.”

“I love you too.”

Suddenly a gold orb lifted the twins out of their cribs and brought them closer together. Thalia said “what’s happening.”

Jax said “we’re strong on our own but we’re stronger together. I think we’re breaking the spell.” Katarina and Eva ran into the room and closed the door behind them. They turned to look at the twins and a look of shock washed over their faces.

Thalia said “Jax I don’t want to hurt Valkar.”

Jax said “good because I don’t want to hurt him either, even though he killed dad.”

“He deserves a second chance, a real one.”

“So how exactly do we do that when he could just be lying to us?”

Thalia said “We erase his memories and turn him back into a baby.”

Jax said “That could work and we could also use magic to slow his aging.”

Thalia said “we make a good team.”

Valkar walked in as Jax and Thalia began to turn back into teenagers. Their clothes stretched with them as they grew. Valkar said “that’s impossible.”

Thalia looked at Jax and said “now.” Jax ran to Valkar and grabbed his face.”

Valkar said “let me go.” Jax looked him in the eye as he started to compel him and said “forget everything” All of Valkars memories faded.

Thalia said “before the day passes turn him into a baby” and pointed at Valkar. Valkar started to age backwards until he was on the floor crying.

Thalia picked him up and said “awe he’s so cute.”

Jax said “yes he is but he’s also naked.”

Thalia said “right, mom put some clothes on him” and handed him to Eva. Eva grabbed him and laid him on the dressing table. Thalia said “how come the diaper and our clothes grew with us.”

Katarina said “you’re dad spelled them so if you broke the spell and started growing again you wouldn’t be naked.”

Jax said “okay, we’ll be down stairs bringing our dad back to life.”

Eva said “okay” as she put a diaper on Valkar. Jax and Thalia ran downstairs to their father’s body. Jax grabbed a knife and cut his wrist. He fed his blood to his father. His wrist quickly healed as his father stood up. Jax and Thalia hugged him for a few second then let go. Katarina and Eva stood at the bottom of the staircase.

Percy said “is Kat holding a baby.”

Thalia said “yes, isn’t he cute.”

Percy said “he’s adorable where‘d he come from?”

Eva said “it’s Valkar.”

“What are you guys insane” said Percy.

Thalia said “everyone deserves a second chance.”

Percy said “he killed me, he should be in jail or executed.”

Jax said “that’s not fair.”

Thalia said “I got this Jax, like I said everyone deserves a second chance, a real one. Plus death is never the answer.”

Jax grabbed Valkar from Katarina and said “let’s go home Thalia.” Thalia put up her hand and a portal opened.

She said “I’m really getting a hang of these powers.”

“Don’t get cocky sis.”

Katarina said “wait, we’re coming with you.” They all walked through the portal.

On Antar in the royal palace. Dragon Flame was sitting in the throne room between two thrones. The originals were sitting in chairs in front of Dragon Flame. A portal opened to the side and they walked out. Rose said “Jax, Thalia are you okay?”

Thalia said “we’re fine.”

Vilandra said “who’s the baby.”

Percy said “it’s Valkar.”

Joshua said “are you guys insane.”

Thalia said “why does everyone keep asking us that?”

Eva said “maybe because he tried to kill us, and he actually killed your father.”

Jax said “you take this one Thalia.”

Thalia said “okay, everyone deserves a second change. He grew up knowing that one day he would become king, then we came along out of nowhere. He deserves a second change, a real one.”

Xan said “she’s right.”

Rose said “but what if he doesn’t change, then will you execute him?”

Thalia said “no because death is never the answer.”

Jax said “no one is going to tell him what he did.”

Everyone said “okay.” Dragon Flame said “who’s going to take care of him?”

“Me and Jax with Carters help.”

Carter said “of course I’ll help, he’s my son.”

Carter said “but he will grow somewhat quickly.”

Thalia said “we know.”

Jax said “and we’re ready to learn how to control our powers.”

Thalia said “where to next?”

Dragon Flame said “back to Lycanthria, you need to learn how to control the wolf.”

Jax said “okay let’s go.
