Chapter 1Prologue

-ORIGINAL Magic WORLD-

I was alone from the beginning—an orphan with a polar-loving family. Weird, right, but I was happy. The chairperson was a kind older man who took care of us; he had neither ambition nor the drive you find in people of power.

He was humble with a loving wife and relatives. He was just someone who wanted to help people, and we were grateful for that.

We had nothing fancy, but we made do with donations and kingdom relief funds. When I was a few years old, local temples needed people to help with primary duties.

I was lucky enough to get selected; the priest was famous for his "Oracle" skill, and the Gods of this world often gave their knowledge via them. He was employed with the favored God, said to have formed this world.

People told me that this is the world of Magic.

I wish I could "see" all this, but I was born blind, which never hindered my thinking. I can get a good grasp of situations, and people often praise me for my mentality and memory. I was a so-called "Genius," but I highly doubt it, though I can feel things. People often say "seeing is acknowledging," and I was highly lacking in that department.

Medical treatment does exist in this world, but my case was unique; healing magic didn't affect my ailment. Even high-level priests were unable to cure it. Orphanage wasted quite a lot of money on this, which left me distressed after I began to develop a sense of money. I firmly rejected the director's recommendations after that. I could live out my life and got quite habituated to my blindness. However, there was a sense of defeat deep in my heart.

I had a lot of friends who were just like me; I would often follow them around from childhood; it was bizarre that people would go out of their way to take care of me. I had many senior brothers who would dote on me for no reason. Sometimes I feel they did that out of pity, which I understood as I grew up.

Honestly, I was grateful for everything that they did for me. Elder sisters who came to visit the orphanage often spoiled me. They would narrate to me stories that led to my addiction to books.

I would often pester elders to read me different stories, no matter the genre. It was an obsession that would scare them off, but my insistence would often break that barrier. From time to time Director would bring some new unsuspecting "victims" in the name of new volunteers and later boast about their despair at dinner, which did lighten the atmosphere.

This change helped me to see through the world of words. I could only "speculate" what most of the adjectives were with no real sense of familiarity. It's like when people read me stories; I would always feel the change in their sounds. The monotone voice would often lower my immersion, and the intensity in their voice would paint a much clearer image in my head. "Beautiful" word for me was the most difficult to interpret; it made no sense to me."BeautifulThe " word for me was most difficult to interpret; it made no sense to me.

So I had to develop it independently, which often felt frustrating as there was nothing to compare it to. Some tried to explain it to me when I mentioned it during reading sessions, but it still left me baffled by their responses. Everyone had different answers, which just increased my confusion, so I just left it alone. Although things were tricky, they never hindered my fixation.

Soon the time came for my first odd job at the Temple. I turned ten this month, and when the Head Priest came to the orphanage for visits during these few months, I would nag him for odd jobs.

The job was simple: narrating a few religious texts to children; although I was one, too. I knew all the prerequisites. I wanted to repay the people who regularly looked after me. I was free all day, and this felt like the best job for me to take some burden off them. So I went to Temple with my elder brother.

This was the first time I came to Temple. It was majestic and grand, as it housed a few gods, including the God of Creation. Head Priest invited me in. When I stepped into the corridors, I felt something like something was watching me intently. It was like a sixth sense type of thing that you know in your gut. It was just a few seconds, then it disappeared, whatever it was. I was flustered for a few seconds, but dismissed it. The head priest looked at me, worried, and asked if I was alright.

I said I was fine, and we moved to the main praying area, "Sanctum Sanctorum," where I was told most of the gods were placed. Different voices were singing some religious chants. Chanting is a commonly used spiritual practice here. Like prayer, chanting may be a component of either personal or group practice. The Temple considers chanting a route to spiritual development.

The Priest guided me through an entrance and made me halt just a few steps after we went inside. I was perplexed; but the Priest clarified that I should pay my regard, as it was my first time here. So he led me to the main Temple where Creation God resided. I agreed even though I was not a firm religious person. I often joined my elders in the orphanage, but it was primarily superficial. The priest took my brother and went to check the children's situation and gave me a few minutes of solitary.

I thought it was an incredible opportunity to show some mercy. I focused on and thanked my life, current situation, and all the people who care for me; I was grateful from the depths of my soul. I implored for a few minutes, and just when I was removing my awareness, I heard a voice.----

Limitless The Strongest Revenant

Notice: Limitless The Strongest Revenant Hiatus extended till June 2025. IRL responsibilities will not allow me to deliver 1 chapter a day. I will return afterwards to resume the novel. Enjoy the Read! - Yinghuo_392 ______ "If you intended to die anyway, don't die quietly like a pussy! Go out in a fucking blaze of glory!" That was the statement that changed my world forever. I was a loser in life. I died and got reincarnated into a Revenant. Revenants were people who defended the living from the dead. In exchange for a second life, they had one task and were blessed with one cheat ability. The task? To kick as much zombie ass as possible. Unfortunately, my cheat just made me "Rewind". It didn't give me super strength, speed or the ability to fly. Hell, it didn't even give me a way to fight! Without any way to kill zombies, I nearly died on my first day on the job! Back then I remember crying and puking all over the place like a little bitch. But while I started out like a little bitch, I didn't stay one. Dying full of regrets changed me you see. So much so that I made a promise. I refused to repeat my mistakes when I was human. Reborn as a Revenant, I will never bow down to anyone ever again. Unfortunately, these Revenant bastards were old school. Like they hacked zombies with swords and all that crap old school. As a man born in the USA, I saw no reason why I needed to follow their outdated way of thinking. The modern world had the superpower of gun powder and lead. So instead of swords, I came after every zombie I saw with guns. Like countries in the middle east, I proceeded to blow the motherfuckers to kingdom come. And surprisingly because of "Rewind", I found out I could never run out of ammunition. $200 for each kill. Hefty bonus for each area of hell liberated. What scared normal people shitless suddenly allowed me to earn millions every day. The richer I got the more "Freedom" I could unleash! Mortars, tanks, air strikes to even nukes. Backed by modern science and technology, I slowly but surely drove the undead back. Along the way, I met and saved seven heavenly beauties. And all of them fell in love with me. They were a little obsessive, scratch that, they were all fucking insane. My precious harem was comprised of nothing but Yanderes in every sense of the word. Still, I would willingly burn the entire world for any of them. For when I called, only my battle harem answered. And that was even before I learned of another secret. Exchanging bodily fluids with my girls gave me their cheats. Suddenly, in contrast to every Revenant in the world who only had one, I alone wielded eight. One from each girl plus my own. And so unfolded my 2nd life. Which eventually became my legend. Who am I you ask? I was born as John Smith. But these days not even my girls use that name. Both on Earth and in Hell everyone else just calls me Limitless. And I am the Strongest Revenant. *************************** Author Notes: Harem size: 7 | No NTR | No Yuri | No Grape Novel Focus: Action, Adventure, Urban Fantasy, Reincarnation, Dark, Weak to Strong, Battle Harem, Beautiful Heroines, YANDERE Heroine, Military, Loyal Subordinates, Kingdom Building, War, Politics, Conspiracies, Overpowered, Face Slapping, Tragedy, Character Development, Multiple POVs, Betrayal, Alternate Realities, Demons, Zombies, Superpowers, Tower Climbing, Tower Defense, Wish fulfillment. This novel has an interesting premise. That, however, is quite literally the only positive aspect of the novel, in my opinion. Interactions are highly superficial, depictions of the wealthy and nobility are skewed, and the characters are so bland that it makes you wonder if any thought was put into making them come across as humans. From the very beginning, there are some plot points that take away from the reading experience. The main character, who is supposedly 10 years old, acts like a robot. The author seems to believe that blind people are also emotionless. The plot is also severely lacking, progressing so quickly that it creates utter disbelief. The whole process, from the protagonist getting adopted by his foster family to the publication of his first book and the establishment of his own company, takes mere months. The protagonist publishes (plagiarizes) a masterpiece like The Hobbit while having been blind for most of his life without the necessary education or an adequate sense for the intricacies of literature. It is justified with the excuse of him being a genius, but that makes no sense. I doubt that there exists a single ten-year-old in the world who has such an astounding grasp of the language and an innate understanding of the challenges that come with being a writer. Granted, that is not his own ability, but everyone apart from the protagonist believes otherwise, which contradicts basic common sense. These, of course, are just a few examples of the jarring plot points that shifted my perspective from that of a reader to that of a critic. Finally, I would still like to congratulate the author for taking the difficult step of writing this novel. Although my review might seem extremely harsh, I hope that the author, assuming that my review comes to their attention, understands that my frustration towards this novel stems from the fact that it shows a lot of wasted potential.

Writing quality: deteriorates. It started out okay but got worse as time went on, almost like the author stopped caring or fired his editor or something. Updating stability: good. I dropped this, so I don’t know if it stayed good, but at least it started out that way. Story development: scattershot and ruined. The premise of the story was very interesting at first, but it stopped being interesting when the author decided to have a time skip instead of developing the story he had already started working on. Now, keep in mind that it’s the *worst* kind of time skip - the kind where important things happen during the skip, but the author doesn’t bother informing you of them. The MC even gained and, I assume, lost love interests during the skip. It was jarring and ruined any bit of enjoyment I still got out of this because of its abruptness. Character design: horrible. In the beginning, the side characters only exist to worship at the altar of the MC. After the time skip, it seems like the characters only exist to annoy him. There’s no real in between. World background: bland and wrong. The author has no clue how westerners act, yet set his novel in the west. Further compounding that is that he sets it in the world of the uber rich, but doesn’t seem to know how to write rich lifestyles beyond “whatever’s the most expensive is the best.” All that’s missing are the common tropes: KTVs, car racing, and restaurants with private rooms. The author already refers to people as “Mr. Firstname” so I fully expect by now that more of the other tropes have shown up. Overall: this started out promising but got real bad real quick in every aspect. Don’t waste your time on it.
