Transfiguration:
There were three types of transfigurations - Intermediate Transfigurations, Animated Transfiguration and Fashioning Transfigurations.
Intermediate Transfigurations or Object-to-object transfigurations are the changing of one specific object to another specific object. It is simple and requires only the use of one very specific spell.
Fashioning Transfiguration is changing the aspects of an object to create a different and completely unrecognizable object. The aspects that could be changed are shape, material, state and size. The more aspects a person wants to change, the more spells would have to be used. There are a total of four fashioning charms.
Animated Transfigurations involve changing an inanimate or animate object partially or completely into another animate or inanimate object. It is a branch that combines the use of both fashioning and intermediate transfiguration along with charms to accomplish it.
