Chapter 4: Trouble Escaping(1)

The collapse of their house brought everyone on Mayfair's Street out of their buildings. Vivian and Raziel did not want to wait for their neighbours subsequent questioning about their house. Vivian took Raziel by the hand and ran off. If they had chosen to stay behind, it would have led to police involvement which they do not want.

Two streets away from Mayfair Street, Vivian and Raziel are standing under a bridge that went over a major expressway. Raziel asked with frustration evident in his voice, "So what now?" Vivian answered, "The only choice we have is to get on the boat I booked us a passage in and get out of this country." Raziel said, "It doesn't seem like I have choice, let's go before the police come after us."

Raziel and Vivian took a train to the Damian Harbour where the boat that will give them an illegal passage out of the country was waiting. They reached the harbour around 5 am in the morning. The man who was going to take them out of the country was named Jack Murray according to Vivian. Jack welcomed both Vivian and Raziel with a frown on his face, "You're late." Vivian said, "Well, convincing my brother was not easy."

"My sister told me you're a vampire just like her," said Raziel. "Well, you heard right, now let's fucking go," said Jack.

They all went down to the basement of the boat. There was a woman there who looked like she was in her early thirties. Jack introduced her while trying to start the boat, "Her name is Charlotte, she has cosmic powers like you Raziel, according to the standard government levels, she's a level 2 superhuman, maybe you can learn something from her." Charlotte smiled at Raziel and said, "Hello, I'm Charlotte, Jack told me all about the two of you, now let's get out of here before sunrise."

It was barely 7am in the morning when an enormous battleship appeared in their sight asking for them to surrender. The sky was even still foggy. Jack said with an angry face, "We're in trouble, that's Vice-Admiral Rowland's battle ship, he's the most dangerous government official on this side of the sea, we must have a ton of bad luck to have encountered him." Raziel carrying a pair of binoculars to look at the battleship said, "I thought the strongest people in the world are still level 3 superhuman and according to Vivian you're a level 3 Vampire, you should be equally matched." Charlotte said, "Even among level 3 superhuman, there are those at the weaker end and those at the stronger end, Vice-Admiral Rowland is probably the strongest level 3 in the whole of Nicaorh." Vivian asked, "What are we going to do, we can't just surrender, they'll kill us." Jack stood tall with his head held high, "We will fight till our last breath."
