Chapter 78: The party ( 2 )

Alyssa walked to the hall and got a seat. She was getting bored so she got her phone and wrote a message to her mother.

" Mom , Why aren't you here yet ? " The message said.

" I am struggling to get a gift for Calcel. I don't know what to bring. " Gladys wrote the reply immediately.

" Make sure you are here before they start. " Alyssa wrote and put her phone back.

They four were still talking when May finally entered with Cynthia behind her.

" My God , They are here . " Juliana spoke with a smile and went to hug May and Cynthia.

" Juliana , Is this really you ? " Cynthia asked.

" Yes my old friend . it's me. " Juliana replied.

" You still look young and cute as you were. " Cynthia commented.

" Really ? " Juliana asked and they both laughed.

David also got up and shook hands with them . " We have been waiting for you. " He said.

" We are sorry for taking long. " May apologized.

" It's okay. The function can begin now. " David said.

" Sure. "

Almost all the guests were in already and drinks were being served as slow music played from the background. Gladys was in and she sat besides Alyssa.

The MC announced the entrance of the main celebrants and David with Cynthia led the way , Followed by Jenny and Juliana with Clere. They they had taken their seats , Calcel came hand in hand with May. Everyone clapped on seeing the together while May put a wide grin on her face.

They took their seats in front of the latter. After a few speeches , May and Calcel were called onto the platform where he proposed to her in front of everyone.

" May , I put this ring on your finger as a sign that you are now mine. Will you marry me ? " He said holding the ring before her.

" Yes , I will . " May spoke with a smile and everyone clapped.

She brought her hands and Calcel put the ring on her finger. She raised her hand for everyone to see while pictures of her were taken and after that they cut a cake which was served with food and more drinks later.

After all that people interacted while music was played and those who wanted to dance joined the dance floor.

Alyssa had been quite since the party begun Gladys had already gone to interact with other women who were from important and known families. She would tell them proudly how she was a mother in.law to the Wong family.

Juliana talked to Cynthia and David was with his other friends. Calcel was moving around with May while people congratulated them.

Alyssa sat there lonely as she watched everyone. She poured herself a glass of whiskey and gulped it down.

' Why is the world always against me. ' She questioned innery watching people who were having fun and interacting. She wished Herman was there but he had not been invited.

Juliana and Cynthia were still talking when they noticed Alyssa. " By the way , What do u think about her ? " Cynthia asked looking and Alyssa.. Juliana looked at the same direction and chuckled.

" She just amuses me. I always wonder why such a young girl chose to marry David. " Juliana said.

" I also wonder. But of course , It's his wealth that she's aiming at. " Cynthia suggested.

" Unfortunately she will never get it. My son is already the CEO , I am sure very soon he will become the president. " Juliana said.

" Do you trust David that much , Do you think he will make Calcel the president yet he's not his real son ? " Cynthia questioned a question that made Juliana give a heavy breath.

She put a fake smile. " He's the only person who can protect Clere , So he has to be. " She answered.

" I hope for the best. And let me believe that he won't produce a child with Alyssa. " Cynthia said.

" I won't allow that to happen. I am here already , And good enough they don't share a room. " Juliana afirmed.
