Chapter 21: The meeting (2)

After they had come to an agreement, they didn't leave right away.

Lin Fan had a few details of his plan that he needed to tell Yan Luo and Yan Luo calmly listened to them.

It took half an hour for Lin Fan to finish describing all the various details in his plan and by the end of it, Yan Luo looked much more confident in him.

Of course, this was all BS since Lin Fan didn't have that much planned. He only had one thing planned and that was how he was going to kill Liu Yan.

The rest of what he said was all what he had deduced from his increased intelligence and most of it did make sense. He just hoped that everything fell into place like he had expected, but if it didn't, it wouldn't matter.

The one big thing that he promised was that he would kill Liu Yan and that was the one thing he was confident in.

Once they were finished talking and were about to leave, the girl that was the closest to Yan Luo suddenly came forward and said, "Young master, are you sure you can trust him? I still don't believe that he has the ability to deliver what he promised…"

Yan Luo looked at her before narrowing his cold eyes and saying, "Sakura, even if you are my closest confidant, are you really disrespecting my guest like this? You know what you are doing is simply throwing away my face, especially after I've already made an agreement with Brother Lin. Do you understand your actions?"

The girl named Sakura immediately lowered her head, but she still didn't give up as she said, "Young master, we grew up together, you know that I only think of nothing more than your safety. Please grant this subordinate this one thing."

Yan Luo looked right at her with those cold eyes and when she felt that gaze over her, she began shrinking her head down until she was bowing in front of him.

Finally, Yan Luo gave a sigh and said, "You've been with me all these years and this is the first time you've spoken your mind, so how can I deny you this?"

After saying this, Yan Luo turned to Lin Fan and said, "Brother Lin, I hope that you won't mind this, but can you please have a quick spar with Sakura? Just show a little of your power so that her mind can be put at ease."

Lin Fan looked at him with a surprised look, but he didn't have time to say a thing as Sakura had already come forward.

There was no weapon in her hand, but she was quite skilled in close range combat.

Lin Fan didn't know what kind of style she used since he had never actually been in a fight before, but when he saw her fist approaching his face, his first reaction was to jump back.

If it had been before, he wouldn't have been able to dodge in time, but now he found that his body was able to keep up with Sakura's movements and her fist just narrowly went past him.

When Lin Fan saw this, he felt a bit more confident, but of course that was false confidence since she had held back with her first punch.

Her next few punches afterwards were also held back a bit because she wanted to see what kind of style Lin Fan would use, but she never expected his dodges to be so sloppy. The way he moved made it clear that he had never trained in any style before and he was just dodging purely on instinct, but even then, he was only able to barely dodge her attacks.

He wanted to kill Liu Yan with just this?

She had seen how Liu Yan had beaten down ten men and had almost ripped more than half of them in pieces with the strength of his hands alone, so she was very clear on what kind of monster he was. Yet this kid was saying that he could kill him?

She wanted to see where his confidence came from.

Finally, Sakura began moving faster and faster. As her punches came forward, Lin Fan found that he was falling more and more behind, becoming unable to dodge it like before. The punches were starting to graze him and he could feel the pain from it.

Lin Fan then realized that she had been going easy on him up to this point and if they were to fight for real, she would wipe the floor with him, so he quickly raised his hands and said, "Stop, stop, I give, I give."

But Sakura didn't hear it in time as her fist went right through his hands and landed right on Lin Fan's nose.

Lin Fan felt the full force of this punch and he flew back within blood spurting out his nose, landing on the ground behind him.

Sakura looked at her own fist in surprise, but then she became even more angry. It seemed like this kid had been bluffing after all!

She would show him what the consequences of lying to the young master were!

But before she could take another step, Yan Luo suddenly spoke up and said, "Enough."

Sakura immediately froze in her steps before moving back to where Yan Luo was standing.

Yan Luo came forward and reached a hand out to Lin Fan as he said with a smile, "Brother Lin, I'm very sorry about that. Sometimes she loses her temper and it's even hard for me to control her."

But then his eyes turned cold as he looked at Lin Fan and said, "But it did tell me quite a bit about you."

Lin Fan looked right back at him and said, "What did it tell you?"

Yan Luo kept looking at him with those cold eyes as he said, "You have special powers don't you? But you can't seem to use them that often, rather you seem to only be able to use them once before they run out, am I right?"

Lin Fan's heart began beating faster, but he forced himself to reveal a calm look as he said, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Yan Luo looked at him in silence for a few seconds before breaking out in laughter. After laughing for a bit, he said while wiping a tear from his eye, "This is why I said that you are bad at negotiations."

Lin Fan was confused as he asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Yan Luo gave another chuckle before saying, "I'll give you a bit back for the little test I put you through. You should know that certain people have powers like yours, like Liu Yan and like myself."

Lin Fan was taken aback when he heard this, but he didn't say a word.

Yan Luo continued, "Liu Yan's power is super strength, which is pretty self explanatory. As for my own power, I like to call it Echo. It gives me the power to increase my hearing, so I can hear even the smallest sounds, which naturally also include the beating of your heart."

Lin Fan couldn't help taking a step back when he heard this as he said, "You, are you serious?"

Yan Luo gave a casual nod before saying, "From what I can see, your power should have something to do with information and it seems like there are only certain conditions that you can use it in, which was why you didn't use it now." After that, his eyes turned cold again before he said, "Since that's the case, I want to ask you, do you already have a way to kill Liu Yan or are you waiting for the right moment to use your powers and find a way to kill him? If it's the latter, I will not gamble the lives of my people on your power, do you understand?"

Lin Fan felt a chill run down his back, but he could understand where Yan Luo was coming from. After all, he was the leader of these people and he wouldn't put his people in danger just for an unknown bet.

Lin Fan took a deep breath before saying, "I can guarantee that I have a way to kill him."

Yan Luo narrowed his eyes as he looked at Lin Fan before giving a nod, "Alright."

But his eyes turned cold again as he said, "Remember this though, if your plan succeeds, I will be happy to call you brother at the end of this. But if your plan fails and you hurt my people, I will hunt you down to the depths of hell, understood?"

Lin Fan took another step back at this.

The aura of a real gangster was definitely not something that he could imitate or even compare to…

But Lin Fan had one thing that he didn't, he didn't have another choice.

After all, this was something that decided whether he lived or died…

So Lin Fan gave a nod in the end and said, "I look forward to having a drink with you at the end of this, brother."

Yan Luo narrowed his eyes once again, but then he also gave a nod and waved for Lin Fan to sit back down.

After all, it was still much too early for them to head out since it was only noon.

They sat back down and this time Yan Luo began sharing more information with Lin Fan.

There was still some time before they would have to leave.
