- King of the Forest

"AHHHHHHH!"

The little girl collapses in front of me and holds her head in pain, writhing on the ground. As I get near her, an invisible barrier pushes me back as I hear Ellie speak up,

[There is no need to be alarmed, she is just being granted the knowledge of what a dryad does.]

"Still, she's in so much pain! Anybody would be shocked if a little girl collapsed and started screaming in front of them!"

I start walking back towards the barrier I had met before and stand there staring at her with a pained look on my face. After about an hour of screaming, she finally stops screaming and passes out. I immediately run towards her and hold her up. She's extremely warm, nearly too warm. I transform back into my T-Rex form and carry her in my arms. I think I'll stay in this form the most, it's extremely uncomfortable to stay in the human form, almost like I'm squeezing into an X-small kids shirt when I wear an XL adult shirt.

Wait a minute…

Shouldn't T-rex's have short arms? Why do mine look about as big as an adult man? Like, they're gigantic!.

As I set her down, I start asking Ellie a good amount of questions.

"Ellie, why are my arms so gigantic when T-rex's had short arms?"

[You are not technically a T-rex. You are a variant species that has multiple mutations. If anything, you should be considered a flightless wyvern.]

"So… I'm gonna be a dragon next evolution?!"

[I can neither confirm nor deny that.]

I get a big, stupid grin on my reptilian face.

"Nnn. Guh."

I hear a little voice coming from behind me, as well as the rustle of leaves. I turn around and see her adorable face looking up at me with those big eyes. Her skin turned green, her hair turned brown and her iris's are shaped like pink flowers with her pupils having turned light yellow. Her clothes changed from what they were before into a light pink dress. She also had a flower crown on top of her head.

As she sees me she gives me a gentle smile and says,

"Thank you for protecting me, your majesty."

As she says that, I subconsciously kneel in front of her and say,

"It has been my pleasure."

She walks up to me and puts a hand on my head. As she does so, she looks up and scowls.

"It seems the self-proclaimed ruler of the forest is near. I feel the fear of the trees. It seems that I may require your assistance once more, King of Beasts."

"Have no fear, I shall end this monster's reign before it even starts. I swear this on my title as the King of all Beastkind."

Without another word, I stand up and march towards the direction of this "King."

Wait… Wtf… I'm most definitely not the kind of person to act or talk like this, why am I talking like some kind of knight in shining armor?

[Every beast feels a sort of reverence towards the dryad inherently. Also, the title of Beast King is making you feel a sense of "Higher than thou" in a minor way.]

"So, basically because I'm a Beast King I feel like the Dryad is an angel and that "ruler" is a worm?"

[In layman's terms, yes.]

"Well, it does piss me off that that thing thinks it can rule over me like I'm some weak rabbit or something. I'll go spray it with some water."

[That may not be as simple as you think, the king of the forest's cave is an area where the leylines of the Earth pass directly through, meaning when the Earth's mana awoke, the monster was directly injected with massive amounts of mana. Making it technically stronger than you. However, its mana amount may be high, but its control over said mana is low. It will most likely attempt to strike and bite you like a regular bear would, but with much more strength.]

"That doesn't sound that bad, I mean I'm a mf'ing T-rex!"

[alsoitmaybebiggerthanyou.]

"What?''

[What?]

…

After a few minutes of running I start hearing trees falling over as well as a low rumble.

"Wait a second… I don't remember there being a lumber company out this way?"

[That's not a machine doing that.]

"Wait a minute… Don't tell me it's-"

*GROOOOOOOOAR!*

"Foooooor fucks sake!"

As I say that, I see it coming in the distance. A gigantic blood red bear!

"W-WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?! IT'S BIGGER THAN ME!"

[That would be the "Ruler of the Forest." AKA: Ursus Ignis, or Fire Bear. A D-class monster. Quite powerful for a planet that has just gotten access to mana.]

"That thing is running at me like a tank! F-FUCK!"

I start using the water control ring and try spraying it. As soon as I will it, a beam of water shoots out from in front of me, slamming against the monsters face.

"Nice! Wait…"

The bear seems to have completely shrugged off my attack! Well, not entirely, as the area that the beam hit seems to have been made completely hairless! It's also bleeding a little in some spots! You're not unbeatable, you tank-like mothafucka! After I say that, I start charging at the bear as well. Making full use of my hydraulic legs, I jump up in the air to try to land on top of this blubbery bastard.

*ROOOOOOOOOOAR!*

The bear gets up on its hind legs and starts growling so loudly that it creates shockwaves around its mouth!

"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!"

Along with the roar, I send multiple waterspouts towards it! Each of them strips its fur off and cuts into its skin. Then, I impact the bear. I land right on its head and claw its shoulders up. Sadly, it does manage to bite me on the leg! I'm regretting not using those mod points now! I land back on the ground and my left leg nearly gives out. The bear starts clawing back down towards me, trying to hit my head. I quickly dodge to the right and use my arm to claw its stomach. My claws are still sharp as ever, possibly even more so, as the fur seems to do nothing to stop them. My claw sinks deep into the bear's gut, tearing up the flesh and guts underneath.

*GROAAAAAAAR!"

It goes back into its regular four legged position and tries swiping my other leg. I try to jump, but my left leg isn't able to. I manage to lift my right leg, which just exposes my already heavily injured leg. The bear's claw seemingly cuts my left leg clean off as I feel a sharp pain radiate from my calf up.

"AAAAAGH FUCK!"

I fall onto my side and roar in pain! But, I'm not letting myself be blinded by it! I quickly use the waterspouts again and aim for the wound I already inflicted on its stomach! While the water is hitting its stomach, I bite at its front leg trying to get it down to my height!

*SHHHHHHHH!*

The spout hits dead center and starts tearing into the bear's insides! My bite barely managed to clip the bear, as I miss its leg and instead bite its foot clean off!

*GROOOOOOOOAR!*

The bear stands back up on its hind legs as it tries to stomp my head with its other leg. I scurry out of the way and start casting waterspouts into its stomach one after another!

*SHHHHHHHH*

*SHHHHHHHH*

*SHHHHHHHH*

It very quickly learns that exposing its stomach to me is a bad idea, and comes crashing back down and faces away from me. Wait… Faces AWAY from me? The monster starts running away from me! Well, limping since it's missing a foot. But, that means it's close to death!

Since I'm technically out of the fight, I start using my healing ring to the full extent! Within a minute, my leg has fully regenerated itself! I start rushing off towards where the bear was running, using my amazing eyesight to follow the trail of blood it's leaving behind. I eventually catch up to it. It's laying down and taking short, shallow breaths. As I near it it lets out a weak grunt without even moving its head.

I walk straight up to the side of its head as it tries pushing away from me. Trying not to let it suffer, I take my claw and cut through the side of its neck, trying to hit something important.

I feel a little resistance about halfway through the cut,

*Shick*

After I hear that sound, a jet of blood comes out from the neck.

"No, not right now. I'm gonna head back to the Dryad and get my modifications and then I'm gonna evolve."

Before leaving, I make sure to eat the bear so that I get all of the mod points I can. Which is much more difficult than the coyotes, considering I'm basically gulping down an M1 Abrams.

After eating that whale of a meal, I start moving back towards the tree. After a good ten minutes I get back and am greeted by the little dryad giving me a warm smile.
