By you, beside you
I met him again after 10 years.
Those same eyes, that same face, that hair, that thread on his hand. Everything was same. It's really him.
"What do you want?" I asked plainly.
"How are you?"
"I believe that we are not on talking terms, so unless it's important please speak up, or else I have to go. I've a surgery to do."
He looked at me for a while with those same eyes on which I used to stare at for hours at some point of time.
"You achieved your dream career?"
"Again...."
"I just wanted to meet you. I don't have any reason" he said.
"I have no further wish of wasting my time. I better go."
"Can you just stay for some time?" He asked.
I looked at him coldly. I didn't forget anything. How can I forget all that? That cheating, betrayal, ignorance by him and my futile efforts on that futile relationship. I never forgot my endless nights of crying, begging and those nightmares. I still didn't forget how he became committed, like replacing me was so easy. I lived with that hatred. I survived with that hatred. I achieved heights due to that hatred.
"I'm not interested."
"Are you married?"
"Stay away from my life."
As he reached out for me, I could bear no longer. I turned back, took out my car keys and left without a single glance as he stood staring on my car which drove further away from him.

She's beautiful. She's young. She's witty. She has a stable career and pretty everything which anyone can dream of. And thanks to the benevolence of her harsh past, she's thrown herself against those memories which are never to be rekindled again.
Time is a healer. She healed and moved. She moved on and on down the path of improvement and confidence. Her twenty-eight-year-old form learnt many things down the road of success. And especially, she knows that past is past. She left her past long ago.
However, years later, her past didn't resist to indulge itself in her present. Everything was fine, until she received that text message from that person, who was responsible for her and her miseries years ago. She hates him. She achieved everything due to that everlasting hate. He still hopes for that one chance.
"I hate you. You are pretty much nothing to me."
