It was finally time.
Zai, Amri, and Quynh stood before the final six candidates atop Amri's Spire.
K'le was there as well, and she had a swathe of devices in her apron and along a utility belt for judging the quality of the candidate's new cores and how they would interact with their nexuses.
The second part of the trial was simple. All they had to do was wait for K'le to finish her evaluations.
"How long are we going to just stand here?" Quynh muttered across as the three of them watched K'le working with her back to them.
"You know how K'le gets into her work," Amri said.
"Do I? We've met, maybe, half a dozen times, and most of what I remember involves Rabbits and lots of mechanical jargon," Quynh shot back. "My knees are starting to ache."
