Fallen Remnant

Glynda Goodwitch walked through the dorm area of Beacon with her heels angrily clicking against the floor as Silva Branwen did not attend his classes again and even skipped his detention with her. The strict teacher was planning on giving him a piece of her mind about his actions. Ruby Rose came out of her dorm room and saw Glynda looking more than a bit angry and called out to her.

" Professor Goodwitch?"

" Ms.Rose, have you seen Mr.Branwen? He was supposed to be serving detention with me this evening."

The little cookie monster shook her head and told the strict teacher helpfully.

" I haven't seen him since Friday, professor, since he visited Weiss's sister in Mistral with her. He should be at his dorm since none of his housemates has not seen him either, and they asked me if I had seen him."

" I see."

Glynda said curtly and went back on her warpath to Silva's dorm room. She stopped at the door and focused on sensing Aura near her to see if he was in there and felt a reaction. The strict teacher knocked on the door and calmly demanded.

" Mr.Branwen, open up. We need to discuss your conduct and the fact you clearly have no respect for your Professors."

Only silence greeted her, and the strict teacher took out her Scroll to unlock the electronic lock on the dorm room. She then said with her voice raised in mild anger.

" Mr.Branwen!"

Her angry lecture died in her throat as she saw a sight she had seen before. Dark thorny marks littered Silva Branwen's skin, and she immediately took out her weapon, The Disciplinarian, and flicked it in his direction. The snow leopard man was lifted out of his bed in nothing but his boxers with Telekinesis as the strict teacher went to Shion to prepare for a dive into his dream world made by the Nightmare that possessed him. She then sent a message out with her Scroll to Team RWBY, PERN, NALA, and Cinder Fall, to report to the designated room for Shion to do their work in due to their connection with the snow leopard man.

Glynda sincerely worried about Silva's safety as she transported him. She then alerted Ozpin of the development.

" There's just no way..."

Ruby quietly said as she looked at her friend Silva in a deep sleep caused by the Nightmare. She wasn't the only one in disbelief, as everyone who was familiar with Silva's strength, either of character or martial ability, could not believe the state he was in. This went double for those who knew about his Magic and Divinity. Neopolitan shared a knowing look with Emerald. Luna and Argint did the same, as the four had a sneaking suspicion that the snow leopard man purposely let himself get possessed by the Nightmare.

Ozpin had an unreadable look in his eyes as he looked at the young man lying unconscious before him. He sipped his cocoa and then asked Shion.

" Shion, what are your thoughts on Mr.Branwen's condition?"

The Nightmare Hunter looked over the slumbering faunus and answered cooly with a grim countenance.

" Silva Branwen is likely possessed by a particularly old Nightmare despite diving into the dreams of others, as it showed no reaction until now."

The old wizard processed what he heard, then asked his faithful vice-head mistress.

" Glynda, I understand you have had Mr.Branwen serving detention with you as of late. Do you think you will be able to enter his dream?"

" It's... A possibility, at least."

Glynda replied unsurely, and Ruby perked up at what she heard and immediately volunteered.

" I'm going! Silva is my friend, and I can't leave him like this!"

" Ms.Rose, your willingness to try and save Mr.Branwen is exemplary, but as Shion has said, he is likely possessed by an old and powerful Grimm, so we need to select who enters with extreme care."

Ozpin told the little cookie monster, and the Nightmare Hunter suggested.

" I would recommend Weiss Schnee and Pyrrha Nikos enter his dream as they were affected by Nightmares before and now have an immunity to its influence. They will have something akin to an allergic reaction to being near proximity to the Grimm, which would be invaluable in finding the Nightmare within Silva Branwen's dream."

" I am more than willing to return the favor to Silva."

Pyrrha agreed without hesitation to go and save Silva. Weiss kept quiet for a few moments as she felt everyone's gaze on her, and she finally said calmly.

" Considering he entered my dreams, I suppose it's only fair that I do the same."

No one argues against the three being selected so far, and the old wizard added.

" One more member will be ideal to form a full team; aside from Ms.Rose, does anyone else want to volunteer? Ms.Fall, you are his former roommate; what do you say?

While Cinder was interested, she ultimately had to decline as she learned from Team CRDL's failure to save Cardin and how important it was, in this case, to have a close relationship with the afflicted.

" We were not close despite being former roommates, so my entering his dream would do more harm than good."

" I see... Anyone else?"

Blake kept quiet as while she did want to help Silva as she figured their others who were better suited than her. Emerald, Neopolitan, Argint, and Luna, we're not worried as they think Silva has everything under control, so while they wanted to enter his dream to see what he was up to, they also wanted to see who else would volunteer. Yang then threw her lot into the matter.

" If Ruby is going, then I might as well come too since we are both considered childhood friends of his."

Nora and Ren looked at each other as they also wanted to enter. They owed Silva a lot for helping them reach Vale but held back as while they knew and respected him; they were not as close as others. Ilia only saw the snow leopard man as a rival for Blake's affections and thought it was not a good idea to enter his dream. Ozpin gave everyone a once-over and announced.

" Then it's decided. Glynda, along with Ruby Rose, Yang Xiao Long, Pyrrha Nikos, and Weiss Schnee, will be entering Silva Branwen's dream to combat the Nightmare."

The five lay down on the giant dream catcher and entered Silva's dreamscape.

I looked up at the vast starry sky and admired the view as I waited for my visitors. I enjoyed my residence in the dreamscape, the Nightmare constructed as the view was equaled to some of the most magical sights I have ever seen. I looked over to the Nightmare that had stakes pinning it against a wooden wall like a scientific display as it obediently stayed still and did not resist. I heard a ding that let me know that my first visitor(s) had entered my dream world, and I grinned.

" Let's see who's the first to come in."

I went to a massive standing mirror and waved my paw in front of it, and it revealed the team that had entered my dream as I watched with interest at how they would react to the massive world they had set in.
