chapter 2: this could be our chance

So we were there for a while and well I actually had a lot of fun. But one thing that caught me, we moved to the front and well they called out, " okay so I take it that two of you out there has a voice that needs to be heard. So we are going to bring two people up and see." I tried to move away but chance raised my arm and I tried to break away. She said, " Haley I heard you sing you are good. Don't be shy." I rolled my eyes and he chose me and this one guy. So chance pushed me up and I felt nervous as hell. He asked, " so who are you and how old." " Haley and I am 18." " axel,20" I knew I was going to make a fool out of myself.

" okay, Haley and axel, we are going to see who can sing most of the song, and then we will decided." I nodded and I felt shy as a mutant butterfly. But he said, " okay so out of the three bands that are here, is want you to sing one of thee songs. Got it." I nodded and well axel went first and he was really good. He sang shadows die by black veil. And I said, heck with it, I do listen to black veil brides but I wanted to prove my voice, I didn't want to be rude about it. But I sang crown the empire weight of the world. And chance oh my dear god.

But I got done and well he said, " okay that was good, now let's see who won. Axel?" Everyone was clapping then it went to me, I heard screaming. Okay that was nerve racking. I jumped down and axel did to. I ran to the outside part and I had to catch my breath, I heard someone running after me, " Haley right?" I turn to see axel, and well he said, " that was amazing, you are good. I am axel." I giggled a little, " thanks, but you were better." He smirked, " so how long have you been singing?" I was taken aback by the question but, " since I was six."

His eyes widened, " wow, can I ask you something?" I nodded, " this might be two things. One have you ever thought of being in a band and two, does your friend have a boyfriend?" I was shocked he had a liking for chance, I don't want to bother in her love life but he was kind of cute so I said, " no she doesn't. And I haven't thought about it often. Why?" He smiled, " well my band shattered soul, and we are looking for a singer. And this has been going on for about a year." I was shocked, " okay and?" He snickered, " well I was wondering I know we both just met but would you possibly like to be our singer?" I thought, but I said, " let me think about it."he nodded and said, " do you have your phone,I can text you if you want?"

I nodded sure, and gave him my phone and number. " okay, cool. We do have a few videos up on YouTube. But text if you want the spot. And tell your friend I said, hey." I nodded and he walked away, then I heard my name, " Haley?" Omg, " chance you scared me half to death, please do not do that." She nodded. And I gave her the details.

And " so that guy he is kind of cute. What did he say?" I rolled my eyes and explained to her again. She then realized what I meant and blurted out, " you should totally go for it. If you do not say yes I will say yes for you."

I put my hands up surrendering and I got my phone out and texted to axel, " hi, this is haley, we met at the concert I will do it, but just let me know if there is any details for your band. Ty" so I told chance, " what if they don't like me. Maybe I should delete it?" She smacked my hand, and said, " Haley I have known you for so long you are going through with this. Now let's go." So I am going through with this and well I get to pursue my dream.

Present day: 2030

" Haley wake up, we're here. And we have an interview in a half hour.so get your butt up." I woke up and I heard jake yelling at me. " okay I am getting up. And when did you say the interview was?" Jake replied, " in a half hour." I widened my eyes, and well I started to get dressed. I grabbed an offutt and it was my black skinny jeans, red crop top, leather jacket, and my combat boots. I did my hair and I guess I should give an update of what I look like.

Well I am 21 years old, I have a lot of tattoos and piercings. I sing for shattered soul, I keep in touch with chance and well my appearance:

Appearance: blue, black and pink hair, contacts: white, pale.

Tattoos: two on my shoulders( one on each side),damaged( knuckles), savior( right arm), grim reaper( back) walk away from sanity( lower back).

Piercings: septum, snake bites, angel bites, eyebrow.

But that is basically me but my clothes appearance is more edgy, so I guess I mix a little. But I just go with my decisions. But back to the story.

So I got dressed and went to grab my boots. And they were by the closet. So right now we are on tour, and well I forgot to to tell you, these are my band mates.

Axel:

Hey I am axel, 23 and well I play guitar and sing back vocals, for the band. But I am wild and crazy. But this is about me so:

Appearance: Snow White hair,eye color: hazel,contacts: black, pale.

Tattoos: sleeve( right arm: horror films), rose( neck)

Piercings: nose ring, shark bites, middle nose, septum, eyebrow

Likes: metal, rock, alternative, punk, haunted houses, horror movies, books

Dislikes: bullies, hate, snakes, spiders, waterslides

Jake:

Hello, I am jake, I am 22, and I think you could say I am the quiet one, but I play bass for the band and this is me:

Appearance: black and white highlights hair,eye color: blue, contacts: bloodshot, pale

Tattoos: none

Piercings: angel bites.

Likes: metal, metalcore, alternative, punk, scream, horror movies, haunted houses.

Dislikes: spiders, snakes, roller coasters, deep water.

Damien:

Hi, I am Damien, people call me Dj, I am 24 the oldest of the band, I think I would be the most mature of the band. But I play drums. I also think everyone in this band is super pale. But this is me:

Appearance: blond hair, brown eyes, contacts: zombie grey, pale.

Tattoos:shattered( knuckles), bleeding heart( left side;chest)

Piercings: spider bites.

Likes: horror movies, haunted houses, roller coasters, books.

Dislikes: spiders, snakes, romance movies

Nikki:

Hi, I'm Nikki, I play guitar and I am 22. But I am a wild one. And well this is me:

Appearance: black hair, eye color: blue, contacts: red, pale

Tattoos: none

Piercings: nose ring.

Likes: horror movies, roller coasters, books, scaring my band mates

Dislikes: spiders, deep water, romance movies

And back to the story:

So we headed out since we are on tour we were going to our interview and it is the whole band, I forgot who it was but, we headed over and well we can be serious at times but it doesn't end well, we are all insane. But we headed to the back room and well it took a few minutes to set up the camera. But we started rolling

Interview

" hey guys, so I am here today with shattered soul, how you guys doing?" I smiled and we said good. " so to start off, could you say who you are and what you play in the band?" Nikki went first, " I'm Nikki, and I play guitar." " I am DJ I play drums." " I am axel, I play guitar and sing." " jake and I play bass." " I am Haley and I sing."

" so how long have you guys known each other?" Axel went, " well I have known jake, Damien and Nikki, most of my life, and Haley I meet her at a black veil concert in Chicago, and well we were looking for a singer, and well when we both were at the concert in 14, they had brought the two of us up and when I heard Haley sing, she was amazing, and I talked to the guys about it and well she accepted the part. And here we are, this big awkward family." He gave us a awkward hug.

" that is sweet. So we had a few fan questions, and tiffany from Ohio would like to know, ' Haley, how long have you been singing for?" I was surprised, and I replied, " well I started when I was six, and it stuck with me ever since, and I am going to stick with it." I laughed. " wow, that is a long time, this next one is from chance, ' how long has it been since shattered souls been around? I think I know what this is, when did shattered souls begin?" Jake answered, " well I think it would be what, in 2010." Axel and Nikki agreed.

" may I ask, what was her last name or letter?" He spoke, " holland I believe?" I smiled, " that is a old friend of mine from back home, holy shit. I haven't talked to her in forever well I know what to do after this."

So it went for about two hours and we had a fun time. I told you though when it comes to interviews we can't keep calm or serious.

After the interview

So we got ready for our show and we still couldn't stop talking about it, " I still can't believe you did that?" Axel yelled to me, so to update, when the person brought up a hate comment, I just told to the camera, " keep it coming, we don't care, we stand strong, so people who don't like us, f**k you."

" I had to, they don't mean a thing, they just want attention. Fake people who want attention to themselves." I put my eyeliner on and our shows were wild and crazy, our last show we had a few people come up on stage and try to maul the guys. I remember that and it was funny, they just hide behind Damien.

But my outfit for tonight was shorts, combat boots, tank top and my hair straight. So we also do this during Halloween, we use special effects makeup to make us looked like we have been burned or have torn flesh.

Things like that. But it was the month of October, and I brought it with and Nikki, had an acid eye, Damian, torn brain, jake, had scratches on his face, and me I was burned on half the side of my face and head. So we did that and it was getting close so, we are joining another band from this tour. I can't remember. But we walked to the venue and we have a growing fan base.

Our set was insane we bought a bubble machine with this tour so this was going to be fun. We dyed the mixture to look auburn red. So our set was one cover, and the rest, shattered wings, escape this hell, demons awake, lost world, and our cover for tonight was slipknot devil in I. Slipknot is my second favorite band.

But we had a great set tonight and well I knew a few people who would be throwing parties, and well me, axel, and Nikki, are partiers. So I told them as we Are walking back to the bus, " hey guys I heard a friend of mine is throwing a Halloween party, wanna go?" Axel and Nikki look at me and nodded, " well yes. Damien, Jake?" They roll their eyes, " fine. But we are taking a cab." I scream, " yes. To the party." So we were in Chicago, and chance was holding the party, I think this would be good. But I really missed her, so I typed in the address and we got there in twenty minutes.

So we headed over and all I saw was chance running towards me, I ran towards her and we both fell to the ground, " ow, but good to see you." I laughed and we got up and I gave her a hug, " hi chance what's up." She slapped me across the face and I did that back to her. I could feel the guy's eyes staring at us. " that usually happens when we are away for a while." I said to them and we went inside there was a lot of people.

But I said, " I am gonna go get something to drink." I went to the kitchen and I saw people dressed up and there was this one person, he caught my eye. He wore a black mask and was dressed as a different character, but I didn't know what to say, he looked over and I looked away, then went to find one of my band mates.

Or chance, but I walked out of the kitchen and I saw chance near the fireplace and it had fog coming out of it with strobe lights. I went over to her and asked, " may I borrow her for a moment please." He nodded yes and I pulled her away, " chance help." She looked at me like what, " what did you do now?"

I rolled my eyes, " I don't know but who is the one guy that is wearing a black mask?" She looked over and said, " I don't know. Just have fun. Okay? You will be fine." She left and I said, "yeah, I will be alright." I walked out the back porch and no one was out here thank goodness. But I sat down on the edge and left to my own world.

This usually happens, but not this often. I heard the door open and I looked back to see the mystery man and I said, " hello?" He sat next to me and said, " hi." Okay his voice was sweet. And I couldn't let my flirty side talk, so he spoke and continued, " why you out here?" I smiled and said, " I wanted to clear my head. You?"

"the same for me. I'm skylar." I smiled and said, " Haley." Then this awkward silence. " I am gonna go in, and find my friends. Bye?" I left and went inside. That was completely awkward. But other than that I had a fun time.
