The child

It wasn't like she had not asked these questions to anybody. Her counsellor and psychologist said, it was because society is like that. She had asked Arihant, he said that it's just a child's thoughts, she shouldn't take them seriously, even though he asked her to leave for a while. She knew that he is giving her time because of the accident but he himself did not see the expression his face had that time of blame, disappointment and hurt.

Was she supposed to take the blame and remain silent, silently acquiescing to his allegations. The children don't speak things without thinking. They only speak what others make them believe in. The values in children are inculcated by elders and the people whom they believe.

She did not believe that either she or Arihant had taught them to look down on women or to confine women at home in the name of responsibility. Then the things he said and believed must be something he learnt in school or from his grandparents. The school and his friends were again eliminated because the mother's of most of his friends were working women. To be blunt they were rich and liked to busy themselves in work as they were freer from household responsibilities. In fact Arihant's parents were a little traditional, well that's why Ishaani had stopped herself involving in business.

They wanted Niharika to do the same but essentially her marriage with Arihant was more or less love marriage leading to lesser control of them over her. Truth about Trishant's marriage didn't remain secret as well and was out quite early. So she had to acquiesce with their opinions more or less because of her love. Niharika was last to find out about it in fact because she rarely visited them.

Now the influence of grandparents on their children was apparent. It should be seen that Arihant was very unsupportive in her decision to stop working. He was angered by her for the second time in their marriage life over this. Not only that but he had also beaten Anuvrat who was profusely claiming his 'rights', for the first time. Arihant had never raised his hands on children but he couldn't stop himself this time.

Niharika didn't know that Arihant had held his parents responsible for her suicide. Had it not been them inciting Anuvrat over Niharika's 'responsibility' as mother she would never had hone under depression. They had indirectly murdered her according to Arihant. One had to know that Arihant wasn't the kind of person who would leave his parents fir his wife or the other way around. But their involvement and actions had crossed his bottom line, essentially leading to Niharika's death. What was more despairing was that they didn't even acknowledge their wrongings and still wanted him to remarry as Niharika was even after everything still an eyesore to them.

The things didn't end there, worse had yet to come. And this worse was lived by the child who still remembered his past life, who still remembered his wrongs and who had to struggle to make a living for his younger brother albeit with little help of others. The child, who was in orphanage still reminiscing about his gentle and vice mother, his mother who died because of his immaturity.
