Chaptet 104: Battle of the BAMFS

"To think…. I had all these wretched, sniveling, mewling brats. And all I truly needed was you, Bronte. You've been replaced, Kurt-boy HAHA—"

In the midst of Azazel's egotistical ramblings, everyone on Krakoa facing the Vampiric-Neyaphem shared a single glance. That's all it ever took in moments like these.

Spider-Man moved in a blur and threw out a projectile that exploded into a flurry of wild webbing, locking the evergrowing Horde together.

At the same time, every Mutant let off their finest high speed attacks.

Bronte and Iceman threw out a cascading wave of ice. Storm carpet bombed them and the Brimstone Dimension Rift with Lightning. Cyclops turned Bronte's ice wave into a flurry of shattered shards that Wanda solidified with her chaos magic.

The previous sight of demonic fiendish Mutants turned into a small mushroom cloud of elemental phenomena and dark magic fissures flowing in the wind. Ashen skeletons lay in the place of the previous demons.

"STOP! Don't damage the Island…." Magneto's voice boomed.

Charles and the Stepford Sisters— belonging to the Hellions, turned to face the forest to their left.

"I don't believe it's us you have to worry about, Erik."

Purple plums of smoke rose from where Azazel teleported his Horde of Neyaphem. Their eyes glimmered in the shadows of the disturbed forestry. Their shapes were like something straight out of a child's nightmare.

"Thanks for culling the weak for me…. It can be quite a bore to kill your own after doing it for so long. I'm more than ready to have some fun now…. Hehehehe…." Azazel and his horde exploded into a smoking cloud of demonic bats and fluttered through the wild.

The Mutants, Blade, Black Panther and Spider-Man gave chase.

"Iceman, Storm and Wanda, protect the telepaths with Magneto. The fastest of you get the perimeter, everyone else fight." Cyclops commanded.

"I don't need protection, boy-scout." Emma's skin turned to glistening diamonds as she ran with everyone.

Bronte's Symbiote arm slithered off of him and formed around Nightcrawler's beaten frame. "After you heal him, find Gabbie and stay with her until this ends."

Mend's eyes blinked open as the mask formed over Nightcrawler, "Understood!"

They joined the others as it began to rain from a clear sky.

Despite all the audial madness from screeching horned hell-bats, Bronte could hear Pietro running the islands perimeter.

Either his presence alone was keeping the Neyaphem inside or something else was at play…

Something beyond their ability to stand in the sun as vampires.

His thinking was interrupted as a cluster of bats latched onto his skin the moment he entered the forest.

He jumped into the air and spun, turning into a tornado of fire that flung the horned winged things off his back and shoulders in clusters of ash.

"Still not strong enough I suppose….. Daken won't be pleased." Azazel said in fragments as he teleported from tree branch to tree branch above him.

"Stop running tests and focus on surviving. You're outnumbered." Bronte leapt in a burst of wind and popped his claws.

He slashed at the red demon-man's face, ripping through pure dark mist as his fellow Mutants went to work below.

"I'm well aware….. Thank you kindly for healing my boy, id love another go at him." The mist dispersed leaving a black winged brute in its wake.

It launched a scaled fist the size of Bronte's head straight at him.

Before the blow could shatter his nose, Bronte roared a gust of wind so strong it eviscerated the brutes arm all the way up to the shoulder and sent him flying through a tree.

"Damn! Sorry!" Bronte apologized to Krakoa. It hummed an understanding reply. Possibly. Hopefully.

"Focus!" Cyclops beam blasted a wave of bats looking to flank Bronte.

"Cyke, behind you or die!." Emma yelled to him from below.

Without hesitating, Cyclops fired his eye beams into her Diamond skin, refracting the blast over his shoulder to blow the head off three demons behind him.

Bronte spun around and flew after the split horde from before, bobbing and weaving through the upper canopy like a homing missile.

As if they were waiting for him the entirety of the bats transformed back into their demonic selves. They latched onto Bronte, sending him falling towards the ground.

He landed on the smallest of five, squishing it like a bug before rolling onto his feet.

"Gross!" Spider-Man commented before thwiping away to take down another flying Neyaphem.

Bronte's left ear twitched as a portal opened behind him. He could see the exit point stuck to a tree behind the cluster of Neyaphem charging him.

Bronte jumped backwards and entered Ilyana's portal, stepping out charging behind them. He moved with a controlled gust of wind, shoulder charging the largest and pushing the rest through the portal he entered.

He could hear them flying out the other end straight into Ilyana's SoulSword somewhere deeper in the fore—

"ERAAAGHH!!"

Bronte spun around just as a tree came flying straight for him.

He took off running into it. As the giant log came into striking distance, he dropped into a slide, evading the projectile entirely as the lush grass grew around him and flowers bloomed.

"You're gonna piss of the metal man, Dorkhus!" Spider-Man said from behind Bronte as he caught the entire tree with his bare hands.

"I AM BORGUS THE WRETCHE—"

"The fuck up, four arms!" Gabbie fell from the trees, landing on the ten foot tall Mutant Demons shoulders with her claws popped and eyes wild.

She scalped the brute in a second, digging into its brain with repeated stabs and curse words as black blood dripped down its dark green scales.

The giant coughed a ball of purple fire. Its orange eyes rolled up into its head as it looked up to see where Gabbie was. To reach for her. To kil—

Its first of four arms fell the moment it moved a muscle.

In a blur, Bronte landed on the tree behind Bhorgus with his Storm-State active and demon blood evaporating from his superheated claws.

He charged back into Bhorgus, landing on its shoulders before grabbing Gabbie and flying away.

Spider-Man stood facing the giant as it only started to register it lost an arm.

"Guess it's you and me, buddy— I mean Bhorgus…. Haha… is The Wretched like your last name? Or is that your stage name… like a wrestl—"

"AHHHHGHHH!"

The sound of their battle faded as Bronte flew above the canopy.

Gabbie punched his chest, "What are you doing!?"

"You don't take the big ones. I'm not going for that. Not here." Bronte protested vehemently.

Gabbie growled a bundle of curses under her breath before calming. "…. Not here." She repeated. "Fine, man. My bad. They need us though so let's get back to b—"

A flurry of flaming bolts ripped through the greenery blurring below them.

Bronte gripped Gabbie tighter and spun around, taking the blow of multiple to his spine.

It didn't take long for him to realize it in fact was not fire.

First sign?

It was hot. Hot as hell. Fire hadn't been hot to Bronte in years.

It penetrated straight through his Vibranium-weave StormWolf suit like a hot knife through butter.

His muscles loosened. Even as he tried with every fiber of his being to hang onto Gabbie and his ability to fly.

He was paralyzed.

"Bronte!? Hey! We're falling!!" Gabbie yelled as the roaring winds grew closer in unison with the ground.

His heart burned as she held him, bracing for impact.

Then the winds calmed. And they floated.

Bronte's eyes moved in their sockets like struck eight balls until he found her in the distance.

Storm hovered above the clearing. Hair white as the clouds and eyes thunderous.

"Storm, don't. They're tough! Stay at your pos—"

"You don't command me, Cyclops. You never have." Storm flew over to Bronte and Gabbie, guiding them to the ground and joining the fight.

"Not to worry. I'll alert you all if either of the three Omega-Level X-Kind falter on my behalf." Charles spoke into all their minds as Bronte and Gabbie gently hit the floor.

"Azazels magic can be a pain. But it's almost never permanent. Much like his state of stillness!" Storm's words heightened as she quickly pointed to the trees, sending a lightning bolt into the shadows.

Azazel teleported out of the way in a burst of purple dust.

In a flash he reappeared tumbling to the ground in front of them with Nightcrawler as Mend on top of him.

"Bad parents leave a lot to be MENDED…. So while I stay here… WE are going to beat the shiiiit out of you!" Mend spit a lightning bolt at Azazels grinning head as he was held to the floor.

Azazel turned into dark mist instantly and fizzled out of the Symbiotes grip.

Storm focused the winds and pulled the moisture out of the air, containing Azazel's smoky form in a spinning ball of water.

Through the water the sight of Azazel changed in a blur of glowing demonic lettering until it wasn't Azazel at all. Just another Neyaphem disguised as their leader.

Bronte could hear another's breathing as it grew closer.

Behind Storm. Bronte's eyes were practically vibrating in his skull. He raged. He could feel the elements. A finger moved.

"Bagk!" He managed.

Gabbie jumped off his chest, connecting her claws with the downward swing of a black iron scythe belonging to an eight foot tall Neyaphem as thin as the krakoan tree branches above them.

"You're dead, child…." It chortled.

The bushes rustled behind the Neyaphem as a small horde advanced in silence.

Bronte raised his hand and a gust of wind and focused raindrops threw the small scale Horde of Neyaphem to the sky.

From there, Storm called to the lightning, ripping them to shreds instantly.

The Neyaphem scythe weilder looked back to Gabbie just as Mend took her over. The suit clung to her frame like paint, copying the details of her wolverine suit and giving it a new dark color way fit with a half mask in the shape of a wolfs snout.

"False….. WE are ALLIIIVE!" Gabbie screamed bright blue fire like a dragon.
