Winning a bike race

They walked toward the dinner table where Zhou Bingbing gave a cold shoulder to Zhou Liying. But soon, she was back to her cheery nature and was discussing her business with Zhou Liying.

"Lili, you have no idea, how excited I was when missus's president approached me for a gown for her brother's wedding." Zhou Bingbing grinned with pride and Zhou Liying smiled.

"You are talking about other's wedding, but when is your wedding, missy?"

"After a year." Zhou Bingbing replied. "Kris is busy directing a movie. We can marry only after he is free from the filming."

Zhou Liying and Zhou Yonge both nodded their heads in understanding. "And where will you hold the wedding?"

"We are thinking about Shanghai." There was a sudden dip in the voice of Zhou Bingbing. "Lili, I know you don't like Shanghai but you have to understand, Kris and I both have our lives there. We want our wedding to be held at the place where we will be spending the rest of our lives together."

Zhou Liying did not comment. She looked down at her plate with a dim expression on her face.

"Liying, I have something to discuss with you." Zhou Yonge spoke out. "I was thinking, why don't we shift our head office to Shanghai? I want to spend the rest of my life in the same city where both of my daughters reside. Besides, the economy of Shanghai is booming. It will be the best decision to shift there."

"Uncle you know…."

"I know your reasons." Zhou Yonge interrupted her. "But for how long will you avoid not visiting Shanghai? For how long will you run away from your baseless fear? Don't you miss your grandpa? Your city where you have spent twenty years of your life?"

"You are my strong daughter, Liying." Zhou Yonge placed his hand over hers. "I know you can win over your fears."

Zhou Liying nodded her head and looked down. It was the second time in the day that she was forced to think, why was she not visiting Shanghai?

After dinner, Zhou Liying decided to go bike riding, to calm down her emotions.

She changed into her biking attire which she always kept in the trunk of her car.

"You are going on bike riding?" Zhou Bingbing inquired, seeing her changed in her biking dress. "I am also joining…."

Zhou Bingbing was interrupted due to the ringing of her phone. She looked at her mobile screen and a smile appeared on her lips and that smile was a giveaway that she changed her mind.

"I am going alone. I am sure you will prefer a chat with Kris over a bike ride with me." And with that, Zhou Bingbing left the Zhou mansion on the bike which was always parked in the garage.

At a speed of two hundred miles per hour, Zhou Liying drove her bike. Her smooth driving was a telling that she was no ordinary driver, but an expert.

She drove toward the Rockier hills. Rockier hills was a highway located outside the city where illegal racing took place. Zhou Liying partook in bike racing from time to time, without disclosing her identity and she was always declared the winner.

That was the reason when her bike arrived at the starting point of the race, fans who recognized her attire, her helmet, and her bike started to cheer for her.

"Oh my god, thunderstruck is here. I am sure, today's race is going to be an interesting one like always." The host of the race cheered with excitement, calling Zhou Lying with the name that her fans gave to her.

Zhou Liying ignored him and calmly scrutinized the body language and bikes of her competitors.

The bike race started with the shot of the gun and like an arrow, the bike of Zhou Liying shot forward, leaving dust behind. Her fans cheered loudly, seeing she was already leading the race.

Zhou Liying was already aware of all the curves and hurdles on the road. She was also aware of the tactics which her competitors used to make her bike lose its balance. That was why, with very ease, she won the race.

She slowed down her bike after crossing the finishing line, relishing the cheers of the audience before driving away from the ground at a fast speed. She left the curious audience behind who wanted to see the face of this amazing biker.

Zhou Liying drove her bike to the cliff located in the city. She parked her bike at the edge, overlooking the city. She stepped down from the bike and removed her helmet. She took a deep breath of fresh air.

She tilted her head, looking up at the sky filled with stars.

This was her heaven. She always felt calm when standing under the blanket of stars. At this moment, she felt as if she was standing with her mother and looking up at the stars filled sky.

'I am so daring, then why am I so scared to return to Shanghai?'

She spent two hours standing in the same position, trying to clear her heart and mind before leaving for her penthouse.

Next morning

Zhou Liying returned from her morning jog when Zhou Bingbing arrived at her penthouse.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Zhou Liying asked with surprise.

"I am here to take you for shopping and then to the spa." Zhou Bingbing grinned.

"And who told you, I will be going with you?" Zhou Liying rolled her eyes. "Don't forget, today is Saturday and I have work on Saturday."

"Oh, come on. Who works on weekends?"

"Me."

"Don't be a bore and workaholic." Zhou Bingbing complained with a whine. "You are coming with me and that's final. I have already made an appointment with the spa and I don't want to miss it at any cost."

Zhou Liying could glare at Zhou BingBing, but she knew Zhou BingBing was immune to all this. She was stubborn and she got what she wanted at all costs.

"Ok, I am going with you."

"Yay!"
