Ambition

Valmiki finally walked out of the office in a daze, he was confused how to feel about his earlier conversation, on one hand he was proud of his son that he has grown up and become so shrewd and competent, both of which are really important to survive in this cut-throat world. But on the other hand he can't even brag about it and his son won't accept him as a father, he just sighed and left limping

Raj just stayed in the office for a few minutes and thought about Sulochana, the nurse and the only other witness to what had happened during his birth. But he already had a plan to deal with that situation, it's all in the future anyway so now he can relax, he already helped his father deal with business affairs. Now it's time to have fun

He went out of the office and called Nandu who was just sitting around in the living room "Hey Nandu, come on let's go out for a date" he shouted, to which Nandu jumped up from her seat and stared at him and all the people around her and blushed. Everyone also stared at him in surprise, you should understand that everyone already kind of knew that Raj like Nandu and vice versa, but to think he would so casually call her out was a little beyond everyone's expectation

Raj just glanced at everyone casually and said "what, I'm sure you guys already knew that we like each other. I'm just announcing it now officially that's all" and laughed, Nandu came running from across the room and punched him on the shoulder "You! You've gone mad!" she just said that and walked out the door and got into his Bentley car

Raj laughed at the scene and looked at everyone else, everyone was giggling softly and pointing at him, telling him to go on. He just shrugged at the scene and went out to the car, he asked the driver not to come as he wanted to spend some time alone with Nandu. He got in the car and looked at Nandu next to him with her cheeks puffed up, he chuckled and rode the car outside

Raj also didn't know where he wanted to go so he just rode along the road for a while till he saw Nandu was finally calmed down now so he told her "let's go, I know a good place" and he rode the car towards his office. ARK Industries owned the tallest skyscraper in the city so you couldn't miss the building anywhere in the city, Nandu was a little confused but just nodded and anticipated where Raj wanted to take her.

After a while they came to the office and asked a valet to park the car for them, he told Nandu to take the elevator and wait in the café on the first floor, he had some business to take care of at this time. Nandu was a little disappointed that he had to take care of his business even at this time, but she still accepted and went, he smiled at her and went to take care of his business

After about 15 minutes he called Nandu to come to the top floor of the skyscraper, nandu was annoyed at this man making her run around the building like this but she still said OK and went to the elevator. As she came to the top floor and the door opened, she could see the that the atmosphere here was do calm, it actually opened up to a helicopter landing area. And she saw the back of the person she loved overlooking everything below him, she suddenly felt proud looking at that majestic back. As though he was truly above everyone down there

At that time Raj turned back and looked at her, it was evening now, the sun was setting right behind him, the sky was orange and the streets were minuscule compared to everything else. He smiled at her gently and said "I used to sneak out of my father's office when I was young and come up here, this was the only place that no one else came to, it was mine alone. I still remember sitting here sometimes and wondering how little we are and how insignificant things are" these are all the memories he inherited from the old Raj.

He continued, but now I have an ambition and when I came on top today, it just increased my ambition more, now I want everything my eyes can see from here, the vast ocean in the distance, I want to control it, the hustle and bustle in the city? Nandu just stared at him for a few seconds and shook her head, she didn't know why, it was maybe love that gave her the confidence or the glint in his eyes that truly gave her the confidence, so she collected herself and said "I would've probably laughed at them if it was anyone else, but you, I believe in you"

Raj laughed and said, "I knew you would always believe in me". He took out a round box from his pocket and opened it, it had the most beautiful diamond ring. He smiled lightly and said to her "you know if I want everything down there to belong to me, you also do"

Nandu was stunned and speechless, she didn't expect so much to happen for her so quickly, she had tears in her eyes and said to him "that was the worst proposal line I've ever heard. But yes, someone has to have your back when you climb to the top". They both just enjoyed the moment and he put the ring on her finger

They both stayed on top for a while enjoying the sunset and only after it got really dark they returned home, on their way home Nandu suddenly realized that she was already engaged! What would her parents think?! Raj just laughed seeing her panicking and drove home
