Fate

After Raj finished lunch with his father, he went back home alone, as his father had to take care of business now. On the way home, Raj called some people to get information about certain people, he already knew the information but still wanted to make sure there was no mistake, so by the time he came home he already had all the information he needed.

As he walked inside the house, he went directly to his office and called Valmiki, Bantu's father who was working around the house. It was time to confront him about a few things and make sure he didn't become a liability for his future plans

After about 15 minutes, Valmiki walked in the office to see Raj sitting in the main chair and he was oddly proud to see him sitting there with a business temperament just like a CEO. Raj motioned him to sit down and Valmiki obliged.

Raj stared at him for a few minutes and finally said "how's your son Bantu?", Valmiki casually responded "oh, he's gone to Rajasthan as a work trip from his company". Raj just nodded, and suddenly changed the topic "you know, yesterday I went to the hospital to donate blood for a good friend of mine, there I suddenly became curious as to why my blood group had nothing in common with my parents. You should know that I'm a bit of a paranoid person so you know what I did next? I paid a private investigator to do a DNA test with my parent's DNA. Can you guess what the result was?"

Raj could see Valmiki's color drain from his face, he was stammering to respond but eventually stayed quiet. Raj continued "you know what else I got to know? That your son was also born in the same hospital on the same day as me. And also a nurse from the hospital fell down from 3rd floor, conveniently near the same ward your son was born" he paused for a few seconds and continued "what's more, you never liked him very much, I mean I still remember when I failed math exam as a kid and you stood up for me and defended me that time but when your own son got 97, you scolded him for not getting 100? The list just goes on and on, care to explain yourself?"

Valmiki was stunned, he never expected to be found out by his own son like this. He honestly didn't know what to say, but he took a deep breath and finally said "yes, what you're assuming is right, I am your real father, I switched your place with their real son. Because I knew I couldn't provide you the future that they could, I don't expect to be forgiven but you have to understand it from my point of view as well, if I was given another chance, I would still do the same"

Raj could somehow understand his twisted logic, but the one thing he didn't agree with was how Valmiki actually treated Bantu, even after dragging him down, he didn't stop and mentally tortured him for so long. It's a miracle Bantu was not a serial killer by now

So Raj took a deep breath and said, "you will never be my father, you lost that right when you gave me up. You will also never be Bantu's father as well, never even had that right". Valmiki already knew the consequences of his actions so he just teared up a little but nodded in the end

Raj continued "after Bantu comes back from his work trip this time, you will bring him to me, and make sure you tell that I am the one who asked for him, treat him well from now on, it's important for my subsequent plans"

Valmiki was really confused and asked "what, why should I treat him well now? Why should you want to call him when he's back?". Raj patiently explained "only if you give a starving man food, will he be grateful, if now when everyone is cold to him and you as a father don't care about him but suddenly I come along and offer him a hand, and I cultivate a sense of dependency on him, he will always be grateful to me and help me with all his might. Don't underestimate his luck, he will be very useful to me from now on."

Think about it for yourself, if you didn't know that Bantu was adopted and his father treated him like shit all this time but suddenly because of someone his father treats him well and that someone also values him and helps him out when he needs it the most, then wouldn't he be indebted to you and be like your brother?

In a way, Raj is really helping him and he will truly take care of Bantu from now on. At this time Valmiki accepted the plan but still said indignantly " But son, you don't understand, if he's close to your family members they might get to know that he's the real deal! Blood ties are more thicker than anything!!"

Raj just laughed manically and replied in a cold tone "don't ever call me son again, and you're right, blood ties are stronger than anything else except one thing" he looked out the window and continued "And that one thing is fate. Just remember, I AM FATE!"
