Midoriya wiggled his new finger and smiled at the strange expression on Uraraka's face. No one in the class had expected Sirius to actually be able to grow new limbs for other people, so his Magical Healing drew attention.
"Are you like really-really okay?" Mina asked.
The pink-skinned girl sat down on the lap of Kirishima, who was sitting at the next desk. Izuku didn't know what was going on between them, but he hoped that his friends would be fine.
"Yeah, man, I've heard people get phantom pains after similar injuries."
Midoriya just shrugged in response.
"So far, I feel fine. If something bothers me, I'll just ask Sirius to rummage in my skull. He can fix quite a lot when he wants to."
Uraraka jabbed his finger as if checking to see if he could feel something.
"This is not a prosthesis?"
A bit annoyed by the constant questions, Izuku decided to stop at least Uraraka. He turned her palm upward and placed his palm in her hand.
"You can check more carefully, I don't mind."
Judging by the red face he received in response to his words, Ochako won't be asking questions about his hand anytime soon. Of course, it cost him his right hand, but considering that it was held by an attractive girl, Izuku was pleased - it was partly because of the sounds of rage that Bakugo was making from his desk.
Midoriya didn't know how miraculously he continued to avoid one-on-one encounters with the walking grenade. Most likely the blond will want to know how he learned Alchemy. And knowing Bakugo, he will most likely try to learn himself, not that there will be at least someone in the world who voluntarily will teach this fucktwat such a subtle science as Alchemy.
"I-Izuku, can you let go of my hand? Not that I don't like your hands, but class is about to start, so. . ."
Midoriya could have sworn that Bakugo coughed up blood at the words. But as Sirius would say: "Awkward teenagers do awkward flirting." so he continued.
"But I like it here. Care to stay a little longer?"
"Holy fuck, I'm ready to stub you in the skull if you don't stop laying it so thick. Stop dancing around each other and invite her on a date already, for the love of God!" A voice shouted from the ceiling.
All gazes in the room snapped towards the voice, only to see a hammock just below the ceiling. It was a dark green color that was familiar to all the students in the class. Sirius looked out of the hammock with a knife in his hand and for some reason, no one doubted that he would fulfill his threat.
". . . Black Sensei, how long have you been there?"
"Long enough to hear more shit than I need in my life, Hagakure. His gaze stopped where the body of the invisible girl should have been. "By the way, who became Class Present and Vice Present?"
Momo raised her hand and spoke when Sirius pointed the knife at her - where did he get the knife from? Why did he take an ordinary table knife?
"I was promoted to Class Present and Midoriya became Vice Present."
Black frowned and returned his gaze to greenette.
"How did you get into this mess?"
"Blackmail."
"Seriously? Who has enough blackmail for this?"
"Gin has. Why would she do that, I will not understand even after death."
"Her or yours?"
Izuku snorted but didn't reply.
Sirius fell off the hammock and landed at the teacher's table. He waited until everyone sat down at their tables before starting to speak.
"Today I will be instead of your Homeroom Teacher. Recovery Girl and my fiancee are not going to release the insomniac until his bones are completely in place, so I will pass the announcements. Don't worry about your teacher's life, he is in good hands."
Mina immediately raised her hand. Sirius noticed a strange light in her eyes and against his better judgment he allowed her to speak.
"Fiancee?"
Black rolled his eyes and took a book out of his inner pocket, one throw and the book was in Mina's hands. The book looked like an ancient spell grimoire, its cover was made of black leather and embroidered with gold patterns. In the middle of the front was a large and flat gemstone that looked like an emerald. The girl opened the book with interest, only to see two words inside.
{Ask Izuku.}
As soon as she read these words, the book disappeared.
"Hey! That's mean!"
"Don't care. Right now, I only have two announcements for you. When the investigation is over, you will repeat your trip to USJ. And in two weeks, the annual UA Sports Festival will begin. Those aspiring to become Underground Heroes should tell one of the teachers beforehand to get advice on how to behave at the Festival. Questions?"
A dozen raised hands answered him. He answered boring questions about trivial things and slowly the lesson came to an end.
The bell marked the end of class and the students started to leave the classroom when Toru heard her name.
"Hagakure, hold on for a while."
Mashirao and Tsuyu looked at their friend and promised to wait for her at the exit. Toru stood by the table, wondering why Black asked her to stay behind. The fact that he just silently looked at her did not answer her questions.
"Sir?"
His gaze fell to where her hands were and Toru suddenly felt very self-conscious. But he couldn't see her. . . could he?
Sirius didn't like what he saw. There were several horizontal scars on the wrists of his transparent student. He had half a brain to figure out exactly what those scars were from.
"Hagakure, I'm not going to hit around the bush. I can see you. That means I can see. . ." He glanced at her wrists.
Tohru knew that right now there was an expression of animal horror on her face. She didn't want anyone to know about her secret and her invisibility helped with this. But she didn't think about what would happen if - when - someone could see her. Suddenly she was grateful to the Support Course for that awkward costume made from the DNA of her hair.
"S-sir?"
Sirius just waved his hand and rolled up the sleeve on his right hand. Toru was one of the few people who noticed the scars on his arms, but she never saw what exactly those scars were. She was horrified when she saw the words "I must not tell lies." carved into his flesh.
"I do not remember if I told you this, but I leave scars as signs of my defeat. If I didn't take revenge on those who gave them to me, then I leave them in place. I also leave scars that I received from my stupidity."
Now that Toru looked closer, she could see the thin horizontal lines on his wrists. They were hidden behind the words, but they were still visible.
"I did it when I was fifteen. I thought that I could erase words in this way, or turn them into an unrecognizable mess. Obviously, I didn't succeed. I can try to guess why you did it to yourself, but I won't. I am not your therapist and not your guardian. All I ask of you is not to do this anymore and talk to someone you can trust."
Hagakure nodded, not trusting her voice to work.
"If you want to get rid of the scars, just tell me, I have an ointment that can help with them. That will be all, I will not keep you here."
Toru turned to leave but stopped at the door. The girl turned around and uncertainly returned to the teacher's desk.
"Sensei? If you can see me, can you tell me what I look like. . ?"
Black hummed thoughtfully and silently gave her a hand mirror. Toru took the object in confusion and looked in the mirror fully expecting to see only the wall behind her. But she saw something different and gasped in shock.
A girl of about fifteen was staring at her from the mirror, her dark chocolate eyes shining from the wavy dark hair on her head. The girl's skin was very pale and her face looked like a doll's face. Toru squinted and noticed that the girl had a small mole under her left eye. The girl looked like the beauties described in the old stories.
When her brain restarted, Toru realized what exactly this mirror was doing and looked sharply at Black. He looked at her with a small smile and nodded in response to an unasked question.
Hagakure's eyes began to shine with unshed tears. In her entire life, she had never seen what she looked like. She barely controlled herself not to jump on Sirius and hug him to death. It would be impolite. So the girl settled on a quiet "Thank you."
"You're welcome. If I knew that everything was so bad, I would have helped earlier. For this, I apologize. But I say right away, I will not bow, that tradition is strange."
Toru laughed and shook her head. Even now, her Sensei didn't take everything seriously, as if what he did now didn't change her life.
'Sirius doesn't take anything seriously, heh.'
"Perhaps my fiancee can make an artifact to make you visible. But that will require your blood and parental permission. Now go, I think you have a lot to think about."
The girl nodded and almost flew out of the classroom. Today was a good day for her.
Yey, progress in the arc with the invisible Toru! You haven't seen much of her life, but that's understandable.
In the next chapter, Sirius will meet her parents for the second time, wow!
