12: Eventful First Day

I keep my chin up and walk into the school, Sasko by my side.

"Hey, Sasko?" I ask. He looks at me with a questioning look. "Who's that?" I ask, pointing to a spiky haired blond guy who has blue eyes. He looks to be about...5 inches taller than me? His wings are pure red. No other colors.

"Oh. That's Carson. Nobody here is good enough for him." My brother shrugs. I nod, and pass Carson. He glances up at me, and blinks. His blond hair falls in front of one of his eyes when he stands up straight. Ignoring him, I walk into my class.

"Hello class." A woman says.

"Hello." Everyone says. I wave and open my notebook. Suddenly, the door opens again.

"Cason, you're late." The teacher says. Carson gives a small smile.

"I had a meeting with the principal. Pain meds." He says, shaking a bottle. The teacher nods. Carson sits down behind me. Then I realize.

"Damn. No pen..."

Someone taps my shoulder. I turn around. Carson smiles and hands me a pen. I smile at him, and he blinks. "Thanks." I whisper. He shrugs.

"No problem."

"Hey!"

I turn around from waking home. It's Carson?

"Uhm- hi Carson!" I smile. He gives me his number.

"Teacher paired us together as partners. Text me tomorrow morning, I'll fly you to school." He says. I nod.

"Thanks! I'll cya tomorrow then!" I wave and walk into my house. My brother blinks.

"Maybe I lied. Maybe there is someone good enough for him."

I smack his arm.

"Knock it off. Today has just been...eventful."
