11: School

"The sky is red." Jack says. I look up. It's so...unique. Suddenly, a large male, maybe three years older than me flys at me and scoops me up.

"Woah! Who are you?" I blink. He laughs.

"You're Tayler, right?"

I nod. He grins and pints to himself. "I'm Sasko, you're older brother!"

Interesting. His wings are deep red with a few streaks of black, total opposite of mine.

"Cmon, kids, it's time to get ready for school."

"School. For demons." I nod. "I knew that existed."

My mom laughs. I look at Jack. He seems to be dying. I hold my frost covered palm over his head and he gives me a thankful glance. I smile at him and cover him with a thin layer of frost so he's ok. Sasko spreads his big wings and launches himself upwards. I look up at him. He's calling to me.

"Here goes nothing." I grumble. I slide my hoodie if and spread my wings. They seem to glint in the lights that I can't see. I spot a ledge near by and casually walk towards it. Everyone looks confused. Without warning, I throw myself off the cliff, falling a few dozen feet before snapping my wings open. I soar upwards, pointing my wing tip slightly to turn in the direction of Sasko.

"Follow me!" He says. I follow him until I spot a huge grey building. We land in front of the doors.

"So this is our school." I say. He nods.

"Yeah, I suggest you stay with me...guys can be really...demanding around here." He says, frowning. I blink and nod. Protective big brother. Nice.

"I don't think you should worry."

He laughs.

"Listen, since you were born half human, you're a lot better looking then these girls. I should worry a lot." He says, guiding me inside. Suddenly, all eyes turn to me. Everyone looks different except for our skin tone. We are all so pale...

"First day of school. Here goes nothing."
