Southern Human County (2)

Within seconds though, Damian understood the reason for this.

The House of Etoile was a Seventh Sphere Power, and although, in comparison to his House of Octavius, they were nothing, they still weren't to be trifled with.

No, that was slightly inaccurate. Any Power strong enough to firmly entrench themselves well into the upper levels of the Seventh Sphere, wasn't to be trifled with.

As such, with such a House backing her, how could she not possess the methods to vanish off the radar of the Spheric Tower of a mere First Sphere World?

Hell, even Fourth Sphere Powers would possess such a method.

That said, the only reason Damian was concerned was due to the fact that, she was a threat, at least to the current him. A him that was still limiting his strength.

However, that was only it, concerned. As for being worried, he was far from it. No, he wasn't even worried at all.

Damian resumed his journey. Along the way, he encountered several Spheric Beasts, most of which he took out with little difficulty. As for the rest, just a glance from him had them shivering from head to toe.

Even when peak First Sphere Spheric Beasts were just sitting ducks, what right did those at the middle or lower First Sphere have to face him?

Previously, Damian had deduced it would take him neary 10 days to get to the Southern Human County. However, the him of now was different from then. Currently, his Agility had advanced two steps further, and as such, it took him half the preconceived duration.

When he arrived at the Southern Human County, Damian was stunned yet again.

The Draconian Duchy was a modern territory, a setting he was most familiar with considering he spent nearly all his current 20 years of life on Earth. However, the Southern Human County seems to be the exact opposite.

The tall and robust brick walls encompassing the whole city, the armored soldiers ready to man their weapons in the case of any conceived oddity, the distinct sound of hooves beating against the ground, of carriage wheels rolling across the ground, and the castle that stood imposingly in the distance.

There was no doubt about it, the Southern Human County, in contrast to the Draconian Duchy, had taken a medieval setting.

Damian walked amidst the first ever group of Humans he could call free, unrestrained, and unbounded.

He could hear their carefree laughter and see their happy smiles. In this place, they were most contented. In this place, they could live their life without the fear of the Draconians' tyranny.

However, Damian could still sense a slight tension that hung in the air like a guillotine. A tension that made their happiness almost seem illusive. A tension that made it appear as though, behind their serene visages, there was an agitation that threatened to spill out.

Damian sighed. He could almost sympathize with them.

The Southern Human County wasn't a sanctuary for Humans, no, it was more like a last defense line for Humanity. A defense line that would offer no resistance whatsoever if several considerations were brought in.

For one, Damian was especially aware of the advantages modern weapons had on medieval types. Even if you were one of the fastest bow shooters in the world, so fast, you could shoot two arrows in a second, did it matter when your opponent could just pull the trigger of a gun and the next moment, you were dead?

Secondly, the Draconians didn't seem to depend on these modern armaments alone. They themselves, were more than enough to wipe out this County. After all, they were faster, stronger, more resilient, and generally, possessed racial traits that places them above regular Humans.

Damian had no doubt that, should the Draconians invade here with full force, under an hour at most, the Southern Human County would be no more.

Damian suddenly felt an headache coming in. This city definitely couldn't protect itself. How was he going to stop it from being invaded?

In the Draconian Duchy, several movements unknown to its inhabitants were already being made.

With the knowledge of the strength of the enemy they were about to find in her hands, Zoe mobilized the most elite group of the Draconian Army.

This group were those that had awakened their Lineage Gifts. However, unlike the dead Young Master Ayden, these set of Draconians had ample time to comprehend and perfect their Lineage Gifts, making them several levels stronger than even Ayden.

As such, she was absolutely confident in their abilities to find and bundle the Human back to their master.

Although, she found it unnecessary to go with them, she still wanted to see who this Human was. The Human who could make their Duchess react so vehemently.

However, currently, she didn't know how right she was in her decision to follow them.

Damian stood at an inconspicuous corner of the County, his golden eyes scanning the crowd walking the street.

With the impending situation of the Southern Human County, he felt there were only two approaches to saving the last defense line of the Humans.

First, he would either need to ally with the leader of this County to thwart the Draconians. This way, he should be able know the core strength of the Humans he would be protecting. Although Damian felt it was unlikely, the Humans might have a trump card that would be incomparably lethal to the Draconians.

Or better still, he could thwart the Draconians himself. Upon taking this path, he wouldn't need to waste his already limited time allying with the Humans. Even if the Draconians ended up being stronger than he initially thought, all he needed to do was lift his limiters, and the rest would be history.

After countless careful reiteration of his thoughts, Damian made a decision.

Although he knew it was a little dangerous to the current him, after all there was the presence of the young lady from the House of Etoile, he still wanted to test how long he could last without lifting his limiters.

And what is the best situation to test himself if not this?

Damian's eyes flashed, before he dashed out of the city. None seems to realize his presence.

Walking through the forest of the Nevermore Territory was a young lady.

She had hair as white as snow, eyes as black as a blackhole, and skin that practically glistened under the rays of the sun.

Her body seems to radiate the intense heat that came from the black flames that wrapped around her frame for a moment before vanishing. Then, repeating the process again.

She was none other than the young lady from the House of Etoile.

It had only been two hours since she arrived in this Spheric Tower, and yet, the faint image of the Southern Human County in the distance was beginning to become vivid.

However, she wasn't the only one matching towards the County. At her back, the supposed elite group of the Draconian Army followed after her like obedient chicks.

From the look of things, it appeared they had been conquered both body and soul.
