Blessed World

In spite of all the powers and abilities the Draconians possessed, they had a glaring weakness they couldn't extricate and if taken advantage of, could prove fatal. The reason said weakness couldn't be extricated was because it was deep-seated in their blood, making them quite helpless when it begins to manifest.

The only saving grace was that, any individual who could even discover that weakness and take advantage of it must have been a lot stronger than them to begin with. In other words, one could forget about using schemes to take advantage of such weakness.

The weakness came in the form of total submission upon their defeat.

Draconians were unique in such a way that they wouldn't submit to someone not stronger than them, even if said someone was levels higher than them in status.

It was for this reason they didn't take Ayden as their superior, but nonetheless respected him due to his status as the son of their Duchess. It was for this reason one could forget about using schemes to take advantage of their weakness.

However, when they come across those strong enough to defeat them, the weakness flares up immensely and they become especially meek and submissive.

The young lady of the House of Etoile had come upon the Draconians on their way to the Southern Human County. And although, with their advantage in modernity, they could have arrived faster at their destination, they had instead chosen to walk on leg. And this, had caused the young lady to come across them.

With the ways Draconians view Humans, and especially their fairer sex, they had not hesitated to try and capture her. Not after they discovered how beautiful she was even compared to their Duchess.

But, what they didn't expect was the fact that the young lady dared to even try to defend herself. At first, they had sneered, thinking her efforts futile, until she began taking them out with nothing but simple hand-to-hand combat, without suffering as much as a scratch.

By the time all of them were defeated, none had the mind to think why their so-called Commander didn't come to their rescue, because, at that instance, the weakness of their race manifested, making all of them extremely meek and dispirited… almost as though they were a pet eager for their master's caress.

The young lady nearly sneered when she witnessed this. With her lineage, talents, and the numerous perks she possessed, a Tier 5 Bronze Grade Spheric Tower was nothing but a walk in the park. As a result, how could the Draconians pose a threat to her? The only reason she was here in the first place was due to the rewards. But, apparently, someone else had beaten her to it.

Even then, she still harboured the hope that she could defeat that someone to get the rewards.

A slight shiver ran down her spine the moment she remembered him. In truth, the young lady was always cautious and not once in her life had she ever thought her House was the strongest, especially not when there were several other Powers on par with them.

However, what she hadn't considered, or more appropriately, didn't believe, was the fact those stronger Powers would even to be willing to come to an unawakened Planet situated in a corner of a small Galaxy.

No, that was going too far. Even she wouldn't deign to come to Earth were it not for the circumstances that surrounded the Planet. Circumstances that could either see to the rise of her House or facilitate the inevitable downfall of her family.

It was for this reason she didn't back down even when she was now aware of his strength.

In fact, she seemed to have made a firm decision. If she ever come across that person, she would use every armaments in her arsenal to battle it out with him.

Her black eyes flashed.

Damian skidded to a stop. He looked around him and nodded in satisfaction.

He was now 500 meters away from the territory of the Southern Human County, a sizable distance, but still unimpressive to the likes of him. Even before the Change, a healthy human could already run such a distance under a minute, let alone now, with the advantage of evolution.

However, it was still enough for the battle that would soon ensue.

Damian already knew the Draconians would pursue him, not when he had accidentally killed their Young Master. However, what father would listen of ramblings of their son being killed accidentally, especially when said father is rumored to be a tyrannical magnate like the Draconian Duke who did as he wished?

With such a knowledge, one would have expect Damian to cover up his tracks when he left the Duchy. However, he did no such thing. In fact, he purposely left his footprints uncovered so they could trace him.

He wanted to complete the Quest as soon as possible and leave this Spheric Tower so he could explore Earth to his heart's content.

For some reason, he felt Earth was strange. First was the Ravenous Rat. It had already reached Stratum 2 when the world was barely five minutes into evolution.

Second was the appearance of Variant Nulls in the early stages of Earth's metamorphosis. Normally, Variant Nulls shouldn't appear until the world begin approaching the Third Sphere, but they had began to appear on Earth at the beginning stages of the First Sphere.

And the appearance of that young lady further reinforced his doubts. What was she doing on Earth? It couldn't be that every organization was like his own House of Octavius, right?

No matter how Damian thought about it, It seemed to him that Earth might very well be a Blessed World… worlds with potential to reach the fabled highest Sphere in existence.

When Damian's thought reached this point, he couldn't help but suck in cold breath. Even his own House of Octavius was still a step away from such a Sphere, and that one step had suddenly become an almost insurmountable mountain to climb.

And yet, there are actually Planets that could reach such a realm with little difficulty.

Damian sighed. When things were put this way, it suddenly made sense why the speed of advancement of the Ravenous Rat had been so fast, why Variant Nulls had appeared earlier than he conceived, why the young lady had appeared on Earth.

After all, the appearance of a Blessed World meant the future of the Spheric Gear was uncertain. The birth of a Blessed World could either mean the destruction of the whole Universe or the rise of the Universe into something bigger.

What was certain, however, was that, whether it would lead to destruction or not, the Blessed World that started all this would remain intact, unthreatened by the destruction it wreaked.

As a result, who wouldn't want a piece of it to secure their future?

Damian's gaze sharpened as he looked into the distance. His eyes scanned the group of humanoid creatures that marched towards his direction. They looked imposing and magnificent. The shortest of them stood at an impressive 7 feet, while the tallest reached 8 feet.

However, what was especially shocking was that, despite their stateliness, they all followed obediently behind a delicate white-haired lady that was barely 6 feet tall, making her look no different from a toddler before them.

Damian's gaze further sharpened as his attention shifted to the beautiful lady, a bone-chilling coldness suffusing his golden eyes. It appeared some people do not learn their lessons.

The Light Saber appeared in his hand, the sun rays reflecting off its silver blade before ending with an especially bright twinkle at the tip.

Damian took a step forward and then, he vanished.
