Aden and diana.

"he will grow up with julian."

Diana looked at her husband who was holding a baby as he spoke those words to her. She was both sad and angry. She fell in love with the duke for his kind and charming nature. And got married to him even with her royal background.

It was one sided love, and he was forced into this marriage due to his family being in hard times during the time of marriage. She thought once she was married he would start to love her too.

But it never happened. Even thought they had a baby together it was aden doing his duty as a husband. Even thought he didn't love her. Aden didn't mistreated her ever. She knew he hated her royal background

Which seems to hold him form getting closer to her. This was the first time she ever hated him. Because just a day after their son 'julian' was born he had left them to an expedition.

She didn't know about what kind of expedition it was. As she tried to stay way from adens work as she thought he would have hate her and doubt her that she might leak information about him to the royal household.

And after 3 and half months, he comes back with a baby and without even checking on their son. He says that this unknown baby will grow up with their son.

Diana looked at at aden then spoke

"i want to speak with freya. Before we decide about this."

Aden was about to hand the baby to diana and leave. But he paused as he thought about her words. It was the first time diana not listening to his words. But she didn't seem to not reject the idea of raising this kid.

Aden nodded before speaking

"you can speak with freya. But I want you know diana, I own this baby his parents."

Freya knew aden would at least let her decide before taking a such a big decision. His last words scared her. She thought aden was warning him that he would raise this unknown baby with another women if she rejected it.

Tears started to form in her eyes as this was the first time he ever warned her. Before she could say something aden called out one of maid to inform freya to meet with diana.

And he left while still carrying the baby. He went to dinning table as a maid took little sam and feed him some goat milk. while Aden thoughts were on diana. While leaving the room he notice diana seemed as she was about to cry.

Today he thought back on his actions and it did seem he was not doing his duty as a husband. It was the first time he saw tears in her eyes. And it started to making him worry more than he ever though.

It was also the first time diana ever asked to talk with his subordinates. She never bothered to know about what he was doing outside till now. At the beginning of their marriage, aden was defensive of diana as she was a princes from the royal family.

And hated royal family for their politics and their marriage was also political one. As much as he hated to acknowledge, he married her to stabilize his family status and power.

He expected diana was married to him so that royal family can keep an eye on him. But diana proved him wrong. She never showed any interest in what he was doing and always listened to his words. She was an ideal wife he could never dream off. Beauty, brains and a supporting wife.

So, he tried to be a good husband to her too. But he didn't loved her, he was always busy managing his territory and people. He had no time. But today when he saw tears in her eye. He turned away as he felt something he never felt. He didn't want to see her cry and ran away.

He found that he developed feelings for his wife. As aden understood his feelings and he thought back on his actions which might made her cry. And he left his own son while he was just born. Which was not uncommon in nobility.

But it seem diana seems to care about her family. He decide to apologize to her after she spoke with freya.

Inside diana's room, freya stood outside and spoke out loud.

"you called for me, my lady"

Soon she heard diana's voice.

"come inside"

As freya got inside, she saw the beautiful lady with a noble charm. This was the first time freya was meeting her lady alone. as soon as she entered inside. Diana spoke to her.

"it was our first time talking in person. Isn't it miss freya?"

Freya was stunned when she heard her call her with miss. She was expecting diana to be prideful and looked down on her as diana was from royalty. Freya adjusted her mind before speaking.

"yes, my lady"

"i called you here to know about the baby the duke bought with him."

Freya finally understood why she was called. She bowed and asker diana

"what do you want to know about the baby my lady?"

Diana gestured her to take a seat. While saying

"everything you know."

Freya sat on the chair while facing diana and nodded. she collected her thoughts before she started speaking.

Freya then diana started tell her from their sudden departure from the castle and how they went to genchi forest to rescue forest tribes and recruit them but how because of tomson holding troops from departure early. Duke decided to lead the troops by himself. And how they faced beast tied, and finally how they found everyone dead.

She told diana, how duke felt guilt and anger that he couldn't keep his word to the forest people and saw only bones left. she told diana how they found a baby inside an underground bunker.

She hesitated before even telling how duke killed tomson in anger when he suggested to abandon the baby. After she told everything, freya noticed how lady diana was lost in thoughts before smiling and said

"thank you for tell me everything. freya."

Diana hold freya's hand when she said that. Freya saw that lady diana seemed relived after clearing her thoughts. Freya immediately said

"you don't have to thank me, My lady. It is my duty to serve you."

To freya's surprise. Diana invited her to join them for dinning.
