Chapter 10

Jet and Jake close their portals after bringing out the elderly.

They sit down drained from making so many visits back and forth, they could only open a single portal per elderly person.

Everyone eats together enjoying the warmth of the healing candles.

Luna added them as an extra effect for the old people.

When the table is cleared Toya orders everyone else to go back inside for safety and asks them to watch the monitors while they clean up.

Jet and Jake transport the elderly into the house one at a time again.

Their father laughs and takes over for them, "Just this once Kido's. Won't happen again." He says helping the elderly by opening multiple portals.

Jet and Jake try and only open two small ones and the two are connected to each other not independent of the other like their father's portals.

They clear the table and Jet opens a portal throwing the trash bag out and everyone sees it and hears it drop outside the shield.

Everyone hears the sound and looks to Luna who is holding a phone comm.

Luna is looking at the phone and sees that Rex and Chronos from Camp Black sent an S.O.S from an abandoned building diagonal opposite the mall.

It also show how many infected are in the area, whether it's human or an animal.

"Rex and Chronos are trapped, they need our help to rescue them. This place didn't have rodents before, but now it does. We have to hurry before it's too late." Luna says to her team.

Jet and Jake say they would go but the best they can do is open a portal to send them out and a portal to bring them in.

Luna turns to Rin who nods.

Dodge nods, she feels useless not having powers and would like to prove herself somehow, and this would be great, they might see her as less useless if she can handle herself in a fight, however the thoughts of uselessness are only in her own mind.

Mira shakes her head, "Nope. I'd rather be a look out."

Toya declines too, "No, go." He waves them off.

The girls go inside and change into nano suits with 2 500ML liquid air purifier and a dog nosed mask with the blue mist in the extended mouth piece that purifies the toxic air.

On their way out Toya growls pissed of he said he wasn't going.

Luna goes ahead with Dodge next to her, she drops a large 5 Liter canister of her air purifier and they wait for it to fill the atmosphere.

They run across the street and according to her screen there are rodents that will be problematic if they choose to go in without flushing them out.

She asks Rin to blow open a hole into the side of the building where there is an air duct. Then she opens another air purifier and stuffs it through the hole.

It blows it's mist into the vents.

The fans in the vents disperse the mist faster.

Rex looks up seeing blue in the room. He brought a small shield with him enough to cover 2 people, "Luna came for us." He tells Chronos who is squeezed next to him in the shield.

Chronos holds up the comms phone and smiles seeing the rodents that trapped them in here leave the building, others are trying to run but they are dying on the spot.

Rin is now holding the comms phone and leads the charge inside the building.

There are 3 infected located in 3 parts of the building. They ignore the other 2 and make their way to the room where the infected blocking Rex and Chronos exit is banging against a door blocked with tables and chairs.

Rin makes her way down the basement stairs after strapping the phone to her arm. She can see where the infected is.

Dodge is walking backwards covering the rear.

Luna is in the middle checking for rodents in the vents above as well as below.

Rin stops when she hears that banging just stopped. She looks at her wrist and the infected is now walking towards them.

She takes a deep breath, her finger on the trigger and reminds herself she has the element of surprise, it doesn't know she knows it's coming.

Rin takes a step forward to bait it to come closer and it falls for her trap sprinting towards her. She squats down in case it's a dwarf infected.

Luna takes a step back hearing sounds coming from the vents, she shoots down a mutated cat that was making scary meowing sounds as if the cat was possessed.

Dodge takes a shot for no reason so it looks like she got one too.

The Infected in front jumps with a fast swipe but misses, if Rin hadn't assumed it was a dwarf she would have her head rolling on the floor, she unloads multiple bullets killing the infected.

Rex and Chronos quickly move the tables and chairs out of the way once they see the coast is clear.

Luna hugs Rex happy to see him. She gives them masks and weapons.

They all make a run for the exit leaving the building.

A boy from out of nowhere flies up and axe kicks a flying Infected the group running for home didn't see coming for them.

Luna shoots it down surprised to see it fall from the sky coming from out of nowhere.

They look up and notice the boy who just saved their lives.

They all run towards the blue mist just outside their camp. When everyone enters the mist the creatures leave them alone.

Dodge puts down and activates her purifier and sprints through the portal opened for them.

Luna gives Rex a hug, "I'm so glad you made it. You must be tired and starved. Come on." She pulls them along and calls the flying boy to join them.

"Use a single large scoop of this in the bath tub." Luna offers them bath salts. Since she got her powers she has had vivid memories of everything in her life.

These bath salts are from the time she lived with her parents, she remembers them so vividly now. Her Wish power is inherited from her father.

Toya grabs Luna by the arm furious.
