Chapter 11

"Did you know they were coming all along?" Toya asks whisper shouting.

Luna nods, "Yes, and I would have told you, but you would have said no and destroyed my comm phone. They've been trying to escape from Coalman for years now, after Rex saved my life during the training exercise he told me how Coalman was a terrible leader and he wished he could run away, I told him when I'm in charge he should come to us, I sent him the message he is safe to come here now, now that I decide who comes in and who goes out."

Toya growls, "YOU DON'T MAKE THAT DECISION ALONE!"

Luna shrugs her shoulders, "I didn't, I made it with Mira, the one with the power to see into the future. You would have said no, regardless of her opinion. So I didn't talk to you, I don't care that your father was the leader before, I do not recognise a selfish, and heartless person as a leader, you will have to earn MY loyalty Toya. This conversation ends here. We have flying infected to worry about." She walks past him and asks Mira and Jake to call for a meeting in the elders sleeping quarters.

Colin and the adults act like they saw nothing and sit down to hear what the new leaders and care takers have to say.

Luna asks Mira to break the news and try to justify the actions using her power like her mother does.

Mira announces having 3 new members.

Her eyes suddenly glow purple like her mother's do, "The flying infected will start breaking shields from above, with Rex here he will help us by installing a nano wall that will protect our shield all around, the infected cannot penetrate this nano wall, they can actually be harmed by it. A secret Coalman kept to himself.

"With the help of Chronos and the new boy, these. Nano shields can be installed at the nearby homes so we don't have to bring more people here. We need everyone that just came here for our own survival." Her eyes turn to their normal brown colour and she takes a deep breath.

Luna smiles asking Mira's mother to partner everyone up by compatibility. That's how they will share rooms.

Lily smiles, "Toya and Luna, Mira and Dodge, Jake and Rin, Jet and Aira, lastly it's Rex and Chronos."

Everyone accepts their partners.

Jet and Jake enter the bathroom and laugh at the sleeping new members.

Toya growls upset with Luna sleeping on his bed on his side of the room.

Luna sighs when she can see Toya is clearly frustrated with her, and falls asleep drained, but does not want to show it.

The adults sigh, "At least this worked out well for us." Kevin says.

"Well, our powers weren't always consistent. Luckily Rex and Chronos are more experienced, I feel safer with them around." Colin says.

"I knew you didn't trust them." Kevin comments.

"I hate to admit it, but they will have to earn my trust, and today they did not let me down." Brandon says.

"Sleep!" Kai scolds them.

"Yeah, yeah." They all respond in unison.
