Moon Young Jae’s homophobic family considered him a disgrace and held his freedom in their clutch. Even with being obedient, he was not free from their abuse. Young Jae was almost blinded and crippled by his father when he stood up for himself for the first time. Left to bleed and die, luckily, he did have a family who wanted to save him. It was twin cousins, who were disowned long before him, who saved him. Sad and hopeless, Young Jae became curious when he met his cousins’ friend, who understood him better than anyone, even without words. Curiosity got the best of him, and he ended by handing his heart, love and soul over a plater as a price. Slowly, Young Jae fell in love with everything about and around Min Jun and eventually fell for the man. Calculative Wang Min Jun entered Young Jae’s life accidentally. He challenged Young Jae's belief with a warm smile and flipped Young Jae’s world upside down. Min Jun read Young Jae like an open book. He planned to get over the little crush he had on his seniors' cousin brother but failed miserably. Min Jun did not like the often-visited ‘frown’ between those beautiful eyebrows and even the always singing of ‘sigh’ through those sinful lips. Min Jun made it his mission to change it only to fall for everything about Young Jae. Wang Min Jun carried his share of baggage, but he was well-prepared to meet the demons from the past head-on. But Young Jae became a mess whenever his past demons decided to pay a visit. He realised he did not have to face anything alone as he has a wonderful boyfriend who cherishes everything about him. Both faced their past demons and trauma together. When a person betrayed by a family fell in love with a person who holds his family above everything, sparks flew, and hearts soared in happiness. Will their story has a harmonious bell, or would it be a sea of misery? Teaser: Files were shattered all over Min Jun’s bed, and his laptop was placed on the bedside table. It chimed once in a while, indicating a new email for him to check. The work was piling more and more as he was diligently finishing it. Young Jae walked into his boyfriend’s bedroom to witness his handsome lover working hard. "Jun Jun! Are you busy?" Even though Young Jae did not want to disturb his lover, he knew he needed some help to impress his boss. "Never for you, love. Tell you what you need?" Min Jun did not lift his head from the file he was going through, but the warmth in his voice reached Young Jae's heart without fail. "Do you have a minute to help me in reviewing my monthly internship report? I have to present to our boss tomorrow morning." Young Jae pouted as he asked. Min Ju looked at his adorable tokki and smiled mischievously. "You are brave, asking your superior to help you sneakily. I can't do it for free. I need a huge bribe to help you. What are you planning to offer?" "Be serious. You have too much work to do." Young Jae chided his shameless boyfriend, who never failed to seize every opportunity to make him moan and groan as he takes him to the pleasurable heaven. "Exactly. I have too much work to do. If I am taking my time to help you, I need something in return. Something so tempting that I don’t mind cramping lots of things later." Min Jun smiled like a devil he was as he grabbed Young Jae towards him. The little rabbit who fell into the cunning wolf's lap did not even get a chance to protest as he was devoured breathlessly. Young Jae forgot why he entered the wolf's lair altogether. Min Jun pushed the files away to make space for his little rabbit to lay down comfortably. Young Jae’s report was long forgotten as a treacherous hand started to caress him again under the shirt as a sinful sound filled the room. Moon Chin Hae couldn't leave like Kang Chin Mae. He wanted to talk to his aunt and sister. Without giving assurance to them and getting an understanding of what happened to his cousin, he couldn't bring himself to leave. He turned towards his aunt Ko Yon, who was looking at him pleadingly. His shoulder dropped in defeat, anticipating the drama. For what stupid reason did his pitiful cousin even went through all the horrible torture at the hands of his family. He took heavy steps towards his aunt, who was standing with the support of his sister.
"What the hell happened, Sunny?" he couldn't do anything to hide the desperation in his voice. His cousin brother's blood was still warm in his hand. How could he act like nothing mattered when he could still remember the faint pulse of his goody-two-shoes cousin.
No one in the family wanted to witness the drama and left inside. Servants crammed, knowing the temper of the house's second young master.
"Young Jae Oppa was dating his colleague Hoon Joo who was his boss as well." She couldn't continue further. She let out a small cry thinking how unfair it was for her cousin.
"Don't tell me he was beaten up till death for dating…" Chin Jae couldn't accept how absurd this sounded.
"Hoon Joo stole credit for his project. Oppa wanted to retaliate. But that damned Hoon Joo sent the pictures of Young Jae and him together to Uncle, saying that if he doesn't make Oppa shut up, he will release to the entire world that Oppa was gay and would lie stating Oppa was harassing him. He also asked for money to give those photos back. Uncle called Oppa home today to tell him to stop whatever he was doing to acclaim his credit for the project. Oppa disagreed, and uncle lashed out at him" Chin Sun was able to say everything in one go, and she started panting as if she ran a marathon.
"Is that the video game project you said he was successful last year?" Chin Jae asked with a frown as he could understand what happened.
"Yes. Second version or something, he said…" for the first time, aunt Ko Yom opened her mouth to say something.
He just nodded the head. He wanted to ask more, only to be interrupted by the phone call from Kang Chin Mae. With a fear gripping his chest, he picked, hoping it was not bad news.
He moved a little away to pick the call. He never did well with crying females unless it was Baby-doll. So, he wanted to prepare himself in case of bad news.
After picking up the call, he was relieved. After finishing the call, he realised Kang Chin Mae was right. With determination, he walked towards his aunt and sister.
"Along with the medic, an emergency room specialist came. He mentioned a few wounds were deep, but at the same time, there were many superficial wounds. They have to run more test to know the exact state. But Young Jae was not hopeless. He fainted majorly because of lack of strength, pain and stress." When he relayed what Chin Mae told him, his aunt and sister looked relieved.
"Sunny… Kang Chin Mae want me to ask if you want to leave the house along with me… You will be protected there. Please consider…" Chin Jae begged his sister, hoping she would say yes.
"I can't. You know that. Aunt needs me here. Also, what would they do to grandpa? I am the only one who takes care of him. If I leave, no one would, and grandma might kill him, joining hands with step-mother. Let's not do this to the man who tried his best to protect us." Sunny said it with determination.
Chin Jae couldn't help but touch her cheeks which was swollen from the slap. Sighing in defeat, he reassured them about protecting Young Jae and left the Moon mansion. He couldn't help but glance at them through the rearview mirror as he knew he would never be able to protect them until they leave this cursed family and mansion.
Kang Chin Mae didn't even feel an ounce of guilt for lying to his twin and made him lie to his sister and aunt. He didn't want them to worry too much and lose peace of mind. That too if they any left. Moon Young Jae was rushed to ICU, and the treatment began.
For the first time, Chin Mae took care of a blood relative from his biological father's family. He had the experience of caring for people who were not related by blood, his step-father's family, who adored him. He took care of most of his friends when they have fallen ill.
But whenever Moon Chin Jae fell sick, he ignored it and let BB or someone else take care of him. But it was the first to take care of someone from the Moon family. He didn't feel as repulsive as he believed he would be. He was seated and looking at the ICU door when a nurse walked to him to sign the document to continue the treatment. With any hesitation, he wrote his name as Kang Chin Mae and his relationship as brothers.
He made a quick call to the hospital chairman to facilitate the treatment process without any delay or issue. He has never done anything like that to anyone unless they were his family. Moon Young Jae was not his family, but something urged him to do so. He didn't have any explanation for his impulsive act, and he always believed his gut feelings.
If only he knew that in future, Young Jae would become a family and would be spoilt by everyone around him, he would have taken better care of him than what he was doing now. Who knew Moon Young Jae would be capable of making devil's little spawn to fall in love with him that too head over heels.
The call was quite effective that getting blood and arranging for the specialist to come for operation happened at a rapid speed.
Kang Chin Mae couldn't help but wonder, what if he didn't know the chairman? How do other people with no influence handle it? Shaking his head as if he was shaking away the moralistic thoughts, he decided to call his pregnant wife and let her know he won't be home anytime soon so that she could go to either BB's house or call baby-doll to stay over with him. His mother went out of the station, and she couldn't accompany his wife. Or else he would have asked his mother to accompany his heavily pregnant wife.
Right when he coaxed his wife not to be alone, Moon Chin Jae ran into the waiting area. Without any word, he sat next to Kang Chin Mae.
After a few minutes of silence, Chin Jae broke it. "I realised it was a lie while driving back."
Kang Chin Mae shrugged his shoulder apathetically.
"Let's hope you were right" Moon Chin Hae voiced his concerns in the best way he could.
"Hope is all we have, Mr Moon Chin Hae." And with that, Kang Chin Mae went to his original apathetic state towards the entire world.
