Chapter 7: It’s hero time…kind of?

It had been two and a half months since Ryuji started training with Ikigai and he'd improved every single day, after the first 2 weeks he'd finally been able to squat jump all the way to the training cabin without taking a break.

Although though Ikigai saw this as a chance to push his student even further beyond, by getting Akihiko to make clothes that all together  weighed an extra 5 kg for him to wear throughout the day even when training.

Ikigai also made it a point at the start and end of his lessons to always stretch to help with his flexibility and muscle recovery. Ryuji, whose top half was a metallic silver, was sitting in his usual spot by the desk in his room, had an extremely concentrated face, while staring at his arm.

'Why is it so hard to change the shape of my arms?' Ryuji who could now fully turn his upper half into any matter he'd absorbed thought as he was struggling with the next part of matter absorption, weapon manifestation.

"Well that's failure number 11, however I can feel that I'll get there soon enough."

'Though, if only this was as easy as it was with energy absorption.' Ryuji thought to himself as he placed his hand on his wall blue electricity surrounded his hand and a second later his light flickered on.

"Ryuji! Breakfast is ready!" Akeno shouted down her son.

"Coming Mom!" Ryuji instantly answered as he remembered what happened the other week when he was too immersed in his morning quirk training session and ignored her call for him.

Down stairs at their table was Ryuji's mother Akeno, she looked at Ryuji as he ran down the stairs and flashed him a smile. "After breakfast we are going to head to the park Ryu."

Ryuji, hearing this wanted to complain as he no longer had a need to use going out as an excuse to train, however he knew better than to argue with his mother. "Okay Mom, I can't wait!"

Akeno, oblivious to Ryujis thoughts, kissed her son on the cheek and ruffled his hair then went back to her breakfast beckoning Ryuji to do the same.

———Time skip: Park —————

<Ryuji POV>

After finishing breakfast me and Mom got ready to head to the park, making sure I put my training clothes on and to bring Ddraig and Albion "my favourite toys" as mother calls them, so I can at least get some training in while not having her worry that I'm training too hard. While I'm happy she cares so much about me interacting with kids my "age" it's still a drag nonetheless.Well I guess I should go "play" now don't want her to worry.

I then began to run dragons in hand though along the way I saw something quite peculiar. 5 kids around my age in the sand area one was on the floor crying while a green haired boy was standing in front of him arms spread trying to protect him.

Holy shit is that Bakugou and Izuku? I Can't just let this happen now can I? Walking over to the group, I heard the blond Chihuahua start to speak. "You want to pretend to be a hero? You don't stand a chance without a quirk." As he punched his hands causing a mini explosion to appear.

As the Bakugo started walking forwards to the two who were shivering in fear I shouted. "Oi! What the hell do you think you're doing?"

Making my way in between the group I flashed a small smile at Izuku "You two alright?" I asked.

"Y-yeah." Izuku stuttered out, still shaking a little.

I smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up. "Fear not, for I am here." Cringe I know but come on I've waited two years to use this line.

Bakugo, who snapped out of the surprise my appearance made, snarled and shouted. "What? another hero wannabe? At least have tell me you have a quirk"

Smiling at the boy, which seemed to anger him more, I responded. "Oh I do have a quirk, though i wouldn't need it to beat a brat like you."

The Chihuahua grit his teeth as he brought his fist to his palm once again. "Oh yeah!? You wanna bet?!"

Smirking at him I responded once again. "How much are we talkin? I'm in the mood for some free things."

As if a pipe just burst Bakugou rushed forward towards me, raising his right hand as if going for a haymaker, well a very poor attempt at one.

I stepped to the side of his punch, a smile on my face. I then raised two fingers. "Come on, I'll give you another 2 shots, hands behind my back too."

Not giving an answer Bakugou once again rushed forwards throwing another poor excuse for a punch which I once again dodged with ease.

I then jumped back and raised my index finger. "One more, and I'll show you what a punch is."

Bakugo ran towards me a third time. I really expected a little more from someone who was praised most of his life, this time however he shot his palm forward trying to catch me in an explosion.

I of course dodged this, having seen the show I knew what he'd try, it also helps that I had Sensei Ikigai  helping me a lot on battle theory while training me.

"That was your last chance." I said rushing forwards before he could even react once again he tried to use his quirk to stop me but I just dodged easily, he was nowhere near as capable then in the future though he is just a six year old at the moment. I appeared in front of his face fist raised.

"Boo." I said as my fist turned into me flicking him on the forehead, I wasn't just going to full blown lever a kid, as tempting as it was. Bakugo fell to the ground dazed at what happened, his two grunts looked at this and ran away, with him following shortly after.

I then turned to Izuku, flashing him a bigger smile than what I had earlier. It seems Sensei has given me a habit, well smiling can't be that bad of a habit. "See I told you not to worry."

Izuku who just watched his little Kaachan, who he thought to be an undefeatable wall, be defeated without the boy in front of him even using his quirk.

Noticing how Izuku wasn't saying anything I decided to ask him a question. "So, your quirkless?"

Izuku flinched at the question thinking that Ryuji would start bullying him when he answered, after a moment Izuku decided to answer. "Y-yeah I-I'm qurikless, t-thank you for helping u-us."

Ryuji hearing this just gave him a thumbs up. "No problem, and don't let others get to you, you may be quirkless but you have more spine than a lot of other kids our age. I'm Ryuji Kyushu by the way." I said offering a fist to Izuku.

Izuku flinched at my fist for a second then gave a smile and gave me a fist bump. "Izuku Midoriya."

Smiling at Izuku, I decided to give the kid some much needed motivation. "Midoriya, what do you wanna be when you're older?"

Izuku hearing this face dropped for a second then gained the biggest smile I've seen from him "I..I want to be a hero!!"

I looked at him seriously and told him the cold hard truth. "If you stay as you are now, that will never happen. You need to be strong. You need to train. You may not have a quirk, but that shouldn't stop you. I believe with enough training you can be a hero with or without a quirk!"

"I…I will!" Izuku shouted

Hearing that someone actually believed in him must of been a shock to him as it looked like he was about to start crying again.

Not wanting to drag this on much longer I looked at him, gaining a smile on my face once again. "Anyways Midoriya, it's probably time for me to go cya around."

Without waiting for his reply I started to jog off not before finding Ddraig and Albion that I placed behind a tree when I saw what was going on.

Got called into work, but really wanted to finish this chapter so I just did it on my break. Let me know what you think, especially about the Ryuji pov. I wanted to give it a try, so if it works it works. If it doesn't I'll go back to the usual. Major time skip next chapter.

As always, thanks for reading
