Chapter 6: The East Blue

Kai and Sanji landed on the red line and decided to take a break. Sanji started cooking for them as Kai recovered what he lost of his stamina. It was a little harder than he thought to climb the red line with his fruit's power but he still had plenty of energy left as he was careful with his plan and made sure to have about double the stamina he thought he would need to climb the redline before he started. He has just under half his physical strength left and could probably keep going and reach an island before he collapses but he would rather be safe now and rest when he has the chance.

While Sanji was cooking, Kai started to explain everything to him. He told him that he ate the Air-Air fruit and could control the air. He told him about the plan he, Reiju, and their mom made to break him out. He started telling Sanji that would find a great place for him before finally telling him that he can't stay with him for long as he needed to go and train.

Kai explained that Reiju was waiting for them to save her and why. He also told him how they both were too weak to do anything. He started talking about the sea and how things work. Told Sanji about devil fruits, haki, the six powers and about the strongest people at sea! The Yonkos! He told him everything he could and also gave him a little book that had a bunch of information in it. The only thing that he couldn't bring himself to tell the little Sanji was about how their Mother sacrificed her life to bring him into this world and how he let her do it.

After they stayed on top of the red line for two days (they had no trouble breathing because of his fruit) they decided to go down to sea. Soon they got caught in a huge storm. Kai let Sanji end up on an island with an old man who had a beautiful mustache and very tall hat. The old man saw the kid and explained the situation to him. How they have no food and that there were only two bags of food left. He took a very big bag and gave Sanji a small one and sent him to the other side of the island.

Kai saw this and smiled, before he started flying away. He rushed to the nearest island and walked into town. He put up his hood on the overcoat he packed. He stole a week's worth of food for three people from the store and flashed out undetected. He walked towards the port and found a small pirate ship about 6 meters in size and used his wind to sail it with ease. Needless to say we would have made a great pirate.

After about two and a half days of sailing he was near the island. Before coming into view he went invisible and waited for something. After a few hours he got what he was waiting for. Sanji was staring at the massive bag by Zeff's side. With a wave of his hand he blew the bag open with wind and watched both of their eyes widen with shock. Zeff was surprised he didn't notice the breeze and made such a careless mistake as Sanji looked at the bag that had no food in it at all, only gold and jewels. Kai smiled at the sight he knew Zeff would be the same.

"Oi, Old Man, where's all your food?!?" Zeff looked at Sanji and looked back at the ocean saying nothing.

"Wahahaha! At least say something old man! This is your chance at a cool one liner or something! Don't ruin it just because you're embarrassed he found out." Both Sanji and Zeff's heads lock onto the new voice. Who would it be if not Kai?

"Kai! You're here! What happened to you?" Sanji ran over and gave Kai a hug. Kai smirked and look at Zeff who didn't say anything but his glare conveyed that he had suspicions that Kai showed Sanji the bag on purpose.

"Don't look at me like that old man, I brought you both some food." Zeff reevaluated his opinion of the brat while going to eat something for the first time in a few days. But Sanji stopped him.

"It's a chef's job to feed the hungry! Let me cook you something!" This shocked Zeff but he nodded as he agreed with the kid. After a little while Sanji came back with a dish in his hands and gave it to Zeff.

He wolfed it down and said "Not too bad kid, you can almost serve that at a restaurant." as he nodded sagely. A tick mark appeared on Sanji's head at the remark as started yelling at the old man.

"You old fart, you wouldn't know good food if it hit you in the face! You ugly old man, only a beauty can say that about my food!" Kai raised an eyebrow at this as he was in the middle of laughing at the duo's antics.

"Oi, Sanji remember you can only talk to women like that until you find someone you like! If I ever find out you cheated I'll beat you to hell myself!" Sanji shuddered at the thought before replying "Knock it off already! You told me that every day for a year! Plus a real man wouldn't cheat!"

Then he mumbled "You also told me that the perfect woman for me was a Tangerine. What the hell is that supposed to mean aniki?" as he started thinking about it again. This caused Kai to roll on the floor from laughing so hard.

Zeff looked at the duo in interest. He already guessed they were brothers because of the eyebrows but he was still curious about the duo. Kai got up and looked at Zeff seriously "What do you think about opening up a new restaurant? I already found you a head chef."

Zeff was startled for a moment before considering it. He didn't want to go back to the grand line after what happened and he had always wanted to open his own restaurant. He nodded before saying "But the brats gonna need to work on his cooking skills no way and I'm serving that at my restaurant!" This caused Sanji to try and start a dust brawl with Zeff only to grab his leg and pull on it without him moving making Kai laugh at him while Zeff just smirked.

The two weeks were spent setting up the restaurant called the Baratie. Kai had fun and also taught his little brother a bunch more fun stuff about the outside world but it was time for him to leave. He pulled Zeff aside and asked him to take care of Sanji for him and train him up to be strong. Zeff accepted and Kai prepared his goodbye.

"Sanji! You're gonna be the best chef in the seas right?" Sanji nodded "That's what I told mom." Kai smiled and said "Then you're gonna need to get a lot stronger. You can't be number one if you can't even make it to the new world. Listen Sanji I need to go for now but I want you to know that I love you and I'm always gonna help you when you're in trouble. Remember when I told you that you would find the all blue? I'll make sure you do, even if I have to blow up the red line to do that! I'd do anything for you, got it? So make me and mom proud and become the best chef in the world! Maybe you will even end up on the pirate king's crew or something! Wahahaha!"

Kai walked away and started floating up before turning around and said "Love you Kiddo!" and flying away.

"I love you too aniki!!" Sanji shouted.
