Shots Fired

"I have my hands above my head, Detective!" Yang Mi widely smiled at Kaiser.

She looked so beautiful but there was something spooky in the way she looked at him. Her eyes were still gleaming with horrors that she promised to Chen Gao.

Speaking of Chen Gao, Yang Mi turned her attention to him and said, "You know, you have to put more pressure than that if you want to tickle me."

With that, Chen Gao growled and put more strength in his hands. His hands tightened around her throat but Yang Mi was smiling brightly and a giggle escaped her mouth.

The sight of a beautiful lady in white giggling while she was being choked by a serial killer, it was a sight to behold but no one would appreciate it as they would instantly faint.

Kaiser was confused at what's happening. He could see that the serial killer could physically touch the female ghost who stalked him every single day. Even he, couldn't do that and even when the female ghost tried to harass him by touching his body, her hands would instantly pass through him.

Just what was exactly going on here? It didn't make sense at all!

No. The fact that he could see her didn't make any sense. All his life, he never saw a spirit walking in front of him. Hell, he didn't even know that they existed as he didn't believe in their existence.

But the moment she appeared in his life, his belief started to crumble as there was no explanation why was there a female living in his apartment, and that same female didn't have a physical body.

Kaiser decided to walk towards them. He took his steps bit by bit. He was cautious enough not to get Chen Gao's attention by letting him focus on Yang Mi.

Even though she wasn't looking at him, Yang Mi could sense that he was moving closer towards them. She frowned and wanted to warn him.

Chen Gao might have put all his attention towards her, it didn't mean that he would be so stupid to get caught by a mere human.

With a gun or not, Chen Gao didn't care to get shot once or twice. This wasn't his body so it didn't do him any harm as he could easily take anyone's body at any time.

Thinking like this, Chen Gao quickly looked at Kaiser who stopped moving altogether. A wicked smile was on his lips as the idea to take the body of the detective entered his mind.

It was so simple and effective. Once he possessed the body of the detective, he could hide again and attack any young women he wants. No one would question him as he could lead the investigation somewhere else and point someone as the culprit.

Besides that, he could see that the man with the gun was an exquisite specimen. His face was extremely handsome but the cold arrogance that seemed to ooze out from him didn't seem to do him bad. On the contrary, his cold gaze seemed to be his winning feature as any woman would fall on their knees just by being looked at by him.

While Chen Gao was thinking, outside the house, two cars stopped in front of the gate. Two men came out; one from the red car and another from the white car. They all looked battle-ready and saw that Kaiser's car was also parked outside.

One of them cursed and said, "Argh. Our Almighty detective went out to face the suspect by himself again."

"Get used to it already, Yang Chao." Another one of them said, "Kaiser knows what he's doing."

Yang Chao nodded his head as he agrees with what his friend said. "Won't deny that. Anyway, we should go inside as well and help him."

Huai Xiao followed behind Yang Chao as they walked towards the gate.

Inside the house, Chen Gao finished making decisions and let go of Yang Mi. He pushed her body a few feet away and run towards Kaiser.

He was ready to attack him and probably, to possess him as well.

Sadly, his actions didn't faze Kaiser as he tightened his hands on the gun and shot. The first bullet met its target as it was buried inside the shoulder of Chen Gao.

The searing pain tore him apart and Chen Gao screamed loudly. But he didn't give up. He was persistent to succeed in possessing the man before him and lunges once more.

This time, he was able to make contact with Kaiser.

Another shot was heard.

But this time, the bullet didn't meet its target as it flew somewhere else. The two men didn't bother finding out where the bullet went as they fought.

Kaiser brought the butt of the gun against Chen Gao's head. He wasn't finished as he grabbed him by the collar and turned his body so he could take hold of him.

Despite the pain, Chen Gao thrashed and tried to get away from while his soul was beginning to get out of his current body.

It took him a few seconds to fully get out of his body and when he tried to get inside Kaiser's body to possess him, Chen Gao was repelled and thrown several feet away from Kaiser.

Startled at this, Chen Gao looked at Kaiser holding the limp body of the man he possessed during these past few weeks. He suddenly felt that his soul was burning and he started to screamed once again.

What was happening? Why can't he possess this man?

Just who is he?

At this point, there was a lot of question that was left unanswered as Kaiser didn't see any changes and was gladly cuffing the limp man in his arms.

He didn't even see the spirit form of Chen Gao who was lying limp on the side. A ball of fire was burning his soul and he continued to scream.

Yet, it didn't take him long enough to notice one thing.

On the other side of the room, the white-haired female ghost was standing silently at the side.

She was looking down at her chest as she saw red blooming in her dress. The pain that came with it was making her feel dizzy.
