Transition

"Kuh!" She coughed and covered her mouth with her hand.

She stared with her eyes wide open at what was happening to her body. The burning pain that was in her chest was just too painful that it brought tears to her eyes.

Her breathing came too fast as she tried to breathe. She didn't even realize that she was trying to suck for air.

Noticing the wet feeling in her hand that was covering her mouth, Yang Mi looked at it and saw blood.

Blood!

There's blood in her hand!

"Kuh!" She coughed once more and more blood came out from her mouth.

Kaiser also saw this as he heard the coughing noise she was making and was stunned at the blood running down her chin and bloodstains in her chest.

Then with a loud thud, he saw her falling to the ground as his colleagues stormed inside the house after they heard the gunshots.

Yang Chao and Huai Xiao had their hands around their gun. They pointed the barrel of the gun in front of them as they were ready to fire if they see that the situation was not on their side.

After a few seconds, they finally relaxed when they saw that Kaiser had the suspect cuffed already.

There didn't seem to be anyone who could be treated as a threat. However, that didn't mean that they were allowed to let their guards down since they're at the crime scene and Kaiser will never allow them to be so stupid as get so relax.

They walked towards and it was Huai Xiao who asked first, "Is that our serial killer?"

Kaiser didn't answer.

Kaiser was too focused on the female ghost who was bleeding out on the ground and growing paler.

"Kaiser? Are you listening?" Huai Xiao felt that something was strange and followed where he was looking when Kaiser suddenly stood up and walked to the side.

They saw him skidding towards a figure belonging to a female. His stoic face broke and a harsh frown appeared on his face.

"Is that also one of the victims?" Yang Chao asked but no one replied.

Kaiser was completely ignoring them as his hands touched the female ghost who kept on stalking him.

That's weird...

His hands were touching her.

He could touch her.

Kaiser fascinatingly glanced at her pale face and bit his lips. A frown was still on his face as he barked an order, "Call an ambulance!"

He didn't know why but somehow, he knew that something was going on. Something different that no one has ever seen.

"Is she still breathing?" Yang Chao asked.

Kaiser sent a glare at Yang Chao.

Shuddering against his gaze, Yang Chao stood rooted in his place and it was Huai Xiao who acted quickly and took out his phone.

He talked on the phone about the situation and the address. He also told them to hurry up and after he was done, he put his phone away by tucking it inside his pants.

"Is she still alive?" Huai Xiao asked when he got close enough to Kaiser.

Kaiser didn't answer. He still couldn't bring himself to say a word as no one could answer his question as to why was the female ghost who should have been able to pass through the bullet was shot by it?

He was positive that she was no human. She's a being that was called a 'ghost'. And yet, there she was, lying on the ground with blood still seeping through her white clothes.

"You look pale." Yang Chao also approached them and tapped him on the shoulder, "Do you know this woman?"

Kaiser nodded his head and then, shook it again.

Yang Mi felt like she was floating in the air while being thrown around. The pain in her chest was still there and it hurts so much that she wanted to scream.

But the scream that was supposed to come out of her mouth didn't come. She couldn't even tell whether she was awake or not for she couldn't move her soul around.

She was trapped inside of something. Something that felt so familiar but a distant memory for her.

Soon, a warm current was moving through her heart and the stabbing pain that came along with it was making her feel uncomfortable.

Thump… thump!

Thump! Thump…

Yang Mi frowned at the sound. She wanted to swat it away with her hand, to make it go away but she couldn't move. The sound continued and gained a normal rhythm.

She wanted to bend her body but it didn't do as she asked it to do.

She remained immobile wherever she was with her heart still feeling the pain.

Now thinking about it, Yang Mi was shot by the second bullet that was fired from her detective's gun. It was a random shot that was supposed to be buried in the wall but she was in front of that wall.

And she didn't really think anything about that bullet. It would only pass through her spirit form and get buried in the wall where it was supposed to be.

It wasn't her first time to get shot anyway and it would usually pass through her.

But who knew that not only did the bullet not go through her and get buried in the wall, the bullet met her chest and that's when she started feeling the pain and the blood dripping down her body.

Bastard!

Swearing under her breath, Yang Mi wanted to curse the handsome detective. He was the one who shot her and now, she was going through this intense pain!

Just see! Handsome or not. She's going to make him pay for this!

The pain in her heart was quickly increasing and just as she thought that it would crush her, Yang Mi felt herself being pulled inside a tunnel of light.

The world turned so bright that it almost blinded her.

Then, she woke up.
