Fallen for you

I touched my chest trying to calm my heart. I shouldn't jump to conclusions and I'm not even sure he really likes me in that way right? He must have said it because I'm his employee and if they go against the servant, it's like going against their master isn't that usually the case anywhere?

I tried to think of this rationally and not to put any colorful meaning to what he just said and with that, I was able to calm mine overspeeding heart. I shouldn't let my imagination run wild or I might end up getting embarrassed or worse be ridiculed by Chisa! That is much worse than getting rejected!

"Be sure to remember what I said if not you will know what will happen to you!" He warned the guy and threw him to the ground.

"My Lord, here." Chisa suddenly appeared beside him with some wet towel and offered it to Gou.

Gou picked up the wet towel and wiped his hand like he just touched something disgusting and threw the used wet towel near the man. He then looked at me and I can feel my heart beating faster again! This stupid heart! Trying to get me into trouble!

"Come, let's go and have you checked up on by a healer." Gou held out his hand to me.

I was contemplating if I should hold his hand, but I remembered he just cleaned it so I just walked up next to him and stood by his side. I smiled as I looked at him indicating that I'm fine.

"I'm fine Gushiken sama. It's just a little scratch. I won't die from a little thing like this! Don't forget, I fought and survived an assassination attempt!" I said proudly, puffing up my flat chest a little bit.

"Yeah…. Right… And who was it again crying their eyes out after getting scared shitless after the fight? Oh, I remember, it was you!" He smiled with that sarcastic but handsome face of his!

Ack! That is so unfair! That's a foul! He shouldn't use his charming smile when he is saying something insulting! I'm not able to think of a rebuttal when he is smiling like that! Turns my head into mush! I grumbled internally.

"Let's go and leave this dump!" He said and lead the way.

As he leads the way, he was walking at a leisurely pace. When we reached the carriage, he stopped and turned to face me.

"Ladies first." He said as he stepped sideways to give me way to climb the carriage.

"Er, I think I'm good. Go ahead first then I'll climb after you." I said awkwardly.

I remembered I tried to climb it the first time and then Chisa picked me up like a stray animal, it's a very embarrassing sight! I don't want him to see me climb like a monkey just to get to ride the carriage.

"No, I insist," Gou said and still didn't budge from where he is standing.

Having no choice, I walked in front of the carriage and tried to climb the entrance. I hold on at the edge of the carriage and steadied my self. I counted to three and boost myself and jumped. I held on to the edge trying to pull myself up like how I pull myself up when I try to get out of the swimming pool but I just thought that if I put up my feet I will look uncouth and sensing that they are both looking at me… Chisa will never leave an opportunity to embarrass me!

So here I am, dangling at the edge of the carriage can't decide if I should get down or be shameless and just get on in an unrefined way. While still in a dilemma, I felt that someone grabbed my waist and took me away from the edge and held on to my waist. I looked up and saw that it was Gou who picked me up. And before I could react, he held on tight and jumped towards the entrance of the carriage.

"Chisa, let's go," Gou said and entered the carriage.

"My Lord, I-!" Chisa was flustered and wanted to say something but he just clamped his mouth shut.

He looked at my way and glared at me! What the heck is his problem glaring at me like that?! Wait… If I heard it correctly, did Gou just called him Chisa instead of Chikafusa?! That must be the reason why Chisa gave me the death glare! He hates how I call him Chisa and now Gou just used it!

Feeling that I got even at him for leaving me behind earlier, I gave him the exact same smirk he gave me when they left me earlier at the hands of those bitches. I entered the carriage leaving a fuming Chisa at the entrance.

Once I'm inside the carriage I sat down beside the window, I like sitting beside the window so that I can look at the scenery we passed by. And since I was asleep when we enter the city, this is my chance to see what the cities in the spirit world look like.

I looked outside and noticed that other than not seeing any cars the place looks like modern-day Japan, well the road isn't concrete or asphalt but it isn't dusty as well even if it's a dirt road. I can see modern buildings and houses, but I noticed that for mansions it always looks like the traditional Japanese mansion, like in Gou's residence and that noble named Nakamura. I don't know if it's only in this city or if it will be different in another city?

I would have wanted to walk around and explore if Gou didn't make me ride the carriage. Tsk! It looks like fun going around the city, and the food that they are selling looks delicious! But I just remembered I don't have money from this world so I will just drool looking at the food but not able to taste them. How sad.

While wallowing in self-pity, I saw that the carriage stopped in front of what looked like a Japanese shopping district like what I always saw on TV. Puzzled, I looked at Gou's direction. What is he trying to do here?

"Come, let's go and shop around. I need to relax after all that stressful drama." Gou said as he stood up.

"Okay!" I said excitedly.

He just smiled and lead the way and I followed him out of the carriage. He jumped down first, I prepared myself to jump down as well and when I bend my knees to jump from that high carriage what happened next shocked me!

Gou was now standing in front of me and he caught me by the waist as if he was anticipating that I will jump down. Due to shock I suddenly grabbed his shoulders, now I'm leaning forward and my face is almost near his! I could feel my stupid heart beating fast again as he gently put me down. I was staring straight into his eyes and I can't look away, at that moment he gave me his warmest smile.

With that sudden attack, I could feel my resistance is getting weak! I need to look away or I won't be able to control my emotions and a blush might show on my face! Luckily I saw a sweets shop, I let go of his shoulders and turned towards the sweet shop and walked near the window. I could feel his eyes following me and I dare not look back at him.

"My Lord, what would you like to do?" I heard Chisa asked him.

"Let's just look around if there is anything that will catch my interest. " Gou said nonchalantly.

Hearing him say that I was so delighted! My wish came true and I will be able to walk around the place! Though I know I will just drool at the displayed food at least I get to have fun before going back. I enjoy window shopping even when I was alive, well I was able to munch on something while walking around but this is better than nothing!

"Colliet, let's go now." I heard Gou call my name.

"Yes, coming!" I called back but wasn't looking at him directly. I feel butterflies in my stomach when I heard him call my name.

I know it's just him calling my attention but when I heard my name from his lips, with his deep voice drawing my attention, I couldn't help but imagine things! OMG! I'm being a pervert now! Noooo! My perverted self don't show up right now or he might notice I'm acting strange!

I walked slowly following behind them trying to clear my mind from unpure thoughts towards Gou! I was preoccupied that I didn't notice what was in front of me and bumped into someone! Flustered I apologized immediately!

"I'm so sorry for bumping into you! It's my fault I wasn't paying attention, hope you could accept my apology!" I bowed and said as I prayed that the person I bumped into doesn't have air for brains.

"Hey relax it's just me. I stopped because I want to ask if you want to try the desserts in this shop. I didn't think that you were preoccupied. What were you thinking that you didn't notice that it was me in front of you?" Gou said good-naturedly.

"I...uhm… It's nothing! I thought it was a shame that I don't have my own pocket money to buy sweets!" I blurted. This is better than saying I was fantasizing doing something lewd to him!

"Is that so? Why didn't you say so? Let's go and buy that ice cream from this shop it's really good! Just tell me what you want to eat and I'll buy it for you!" He said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the direction of the ice cream shop he was talking about.

"Really? You would do that for me?" I asked doubtfully.

"Yes, really! Just tell me and I would give you anything you want!" He said then looked back at me and flashed me that brilliant smile that I rarely see.

Looking at his bright smile and his hand holding mine, at that moment I think I heard something snapped? I think that was the rope that was keeping me from falling off the cliff. And since he disarmed me my safety rope snapped and I had fallen for him completely!
