Seeing the old man in front of her who ate quietly with a cheerful mood,Amelie couldn't help but feel anxious.He definitely had something crafted.

After swallowing his food,he took a sip of water,wiped his lips and finally spoke to her.

"Miss Amelie,right?"

Amelie's eyes became serious and cautious.

"How do you know my name?"

"No need to look at me like that.It wasn't any shady way,someone very earnestly had talked to me about you."The old man shamelessly lied.Aiden hadn't told him a single word about this.

Amelie tried to rack her brain on who could have possibly talked to him about her,then her eyes flashed.Mr.Yoxal?Yoxal?Aiden Yoxal?

"It seems you also managed to figure it out very quickly,shows that you are quite an intelligent young lady."

Amelie didn't feel that happy with the compliment.So that guy was on marriage plans and hit on her several times?Wait,maybe his situation was the same as Rosè?Maybe he didn't know or didn't have a finger in this.But it was better to think of the worst than get disappointed for thinking the best.

Maybe Aiden's grandfather noticed the sudden change in her when she figured out his identity so he tried to clean his grandson's reputation.

"I had told that rascal many times to find a girlfriend or something,because I feel bad for seeing him stuck in that office working day and night,but that kid doesn't listen at all and is too stubborn.So I decided to take the matter in my own hand by secretly choosing a partner for him and planning to pressure him to marry.That's how they did it in my time.I couldn't stand watching my beloved grandson rot in an office and waste his youth." he looked at her with a sad look trying to get some pity."I couldn't just sit back and do nothing.I don't even know how many years he has been single.He thinks that he would go for 'the one' when she showed up,but that one hasn't shown in front of him for so many years well not until recently."Aiden's grandfather snooped in a few lies and smiled at Amelie.

The latter didn't speak and just nodded,there wasn't that much of a reaction from her.

"I am a bit aware of what your relationship with him is and I was very surprised when I heard about you from him,since my grandson is really shy and doesn't express himself easily."

Him?Shy?Amelie for a moment wanted to burst out laughing.That man shy?He didn't miss a single opportunity to talk to her.Sometimes even creating them.He thought he was slick.

But her face showed nothing.

Not seeing much reaction from her Aiden's grandfather was a bit worried that she wasn't convinced enough so he continued this time a bit more honest and sincerely.

"Listen,I'm telling this only to you.Never ever tell anyone else about this, especially Aiden.Promise me."

Seeing him so serious,Amelie couldn't help but promise.He then stared into the distance.

"Aiden is someone I treasure very much and I might even consider him my favourite grandson since he has been the one closest with me and my wife.He might seem very confident and arrogant,but inside he is very sensitive and quiet so the whole family can't help but worry about him.I don't want to go into detail since this is something he should tell you himself."

Amelie's eyes widened a bit.The old man's expression made this situation very serious.

"I heard you'll be returning to your country soon and that you have a pretty good career in front of you there.Knowing my grandson,he would definitely distance himself thinking that he is a burden and that he will be holding you back.Your relationship has been going pretty well,but it still is quite fragile and needs a foundation."

"And you think this foundation should be marriage?Sir,can't you hear how ridiculous that sounds?"

"I'm not telling you to marry immediately.After all a good wedding takes time.You can have plenty of time to know and like each other,I'm just saying to do that with the goal of marriage.Think of it as blind dating with the thought of marriage."

Amelie thought that it was a bit reasonable.Many people her age got to know themselves like that and most of her parents generation had married in an arranged marriage and had a successful one,including her parents.She wasn't as opposed to an arranged marriage as most would be,since an actual arranged marriage happened with consent and you chose your own partner via a list of candidates parents made.

She knew that if she stayed single for a few more years,she would also be the one picking a candidate from the list her parents would make.

Aiden was the first man she had actually liked during her whole experience as a human being.He was the only one who had made her heart beat so loudly and flustured.She had never felt so out of control of herself as she did with him.Calling it love was too soon,but it was definitely a mutual attraction.

But marriage wasn't the key for them to be together.It was too big of a step.What if their relationship gets ruined by it because they took this step too soon?

"Still,marriage is too much.It's too much of a responsibility."

"Listen,miss Amelie,I won't be forcing you to marry my grandson,but if you refuse today then forget about seeing him again."

The soft methods weren't working so he had to choose offensive ones.Sorry Miss Amelie.You're marrying my grandson no matter what.You're perfect for him.

Amelie was caught off guard by the sudden threat.

"Excuse me?Are you threatening me?"

"I wouldn't take it that way." he explained"The news about his engagement has started to spread and I am sure that you would definitely not like to be labelled as the other woman.I could've chosen another candidate,but since I already have rejected the others,no one would ever agree to be the second option."

"What about Aiden?Where does he stand in all of his?Does he even know that you have been discussing his future like this?"

"The news that Aiden will be engaging has been spreading for a while now,but his partner is unknown.It won't take too long for Miss Rosè's identity to come out.You don't want that to happen do you?It would ruin your friend's life,including Aiden's.I can't pull out of this thing anymore due to my carelessness."

"What if you just say that the news is wrong?"

Damn it!This little girl isn't easy to fool!But he managed to build an excuse.

"That can only happen if the source is too unreliable,but in our society where people are constantly watching you like hyenas,waiting for you to take the wrong step,of course, we can't afford to make the wrong move."

Seeing that Amelie was still hesitating.The old man gave the last hit.

"It can only be Miss Rosè or you.You have a good relationship with Aiden that's why I think you would be the best option instead of Miss Rosè.But since you seem to be hesitating.Then let's end our conversation here."

He got up.Leaving Amelie with her head lowered in thoughts.

But just as he took a few steps a soft and determined voice stopped him.

"I'll do it."The advantages far exceeded the disadvantages.

"Wise choice my child!"

Great!Now all he had to do was convince Aiden to go through with the marriage.
