Chapter 11: Sports Festival Part 4
A/N: I lowkey just wanna finish this arc, so this is gonna be very fast paced. Apologies to the people who prefer a slower pace, I just wanna get further into the story plot before I get bored

"Walking to the stage, we have the next match consisting of the number 1 rookie: Ryoichi Cheney!!" Midnight announced with a sway of her red (thing, idk what its called) as the crowd cheered loudly
"And the quick, Tenya Iida!!"
Iida and Ryoichi walked up the stairs to the arena and faced each other with concentrated faces.
Walking closer to one another, they both came face-to-face as Iida lifted his hand up for a shake.
"I'll be going all out. I hope you'll do the same" Iida stated.
"Of course, good luck" Ryoichi nodded as he shook Iida's hand.
The two went to their spots as Present Mic energetically announced.
"LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTEDDD!!!
3...
2...
1...
FIGHT!!"
With a quick start, Iida didn't hesitate to use his recipro burst to dash at Ryoichi.
He jumped a little and went for a right overhead kick towards Ryoichi's face. A blue hue was produced from Iida's engine calf and accelerated the kick.
Ducking under the kick, Ryoichi went for a spinning leg sweep.
Unexpectedly, shocking everyone including Ryoichi, Iida used the momentum of his previous kick to hop over Ryoichi's sweep and went for a Recipro Burst bicycle kick.
*BAM!*
Dust filled the area that Iida kicked. However, his face showed a distasteful look.
"So close..." He muttered as he turned around to see Ryoichi come out from a black portal, unscathed.
"I didn't think you had it in you to do something like that... I'm impressed" Ryoichi praised with an honest smile.
"Neither did I, shame it meant nothing though" Iida shrugged modestly.
"Not necessarily, you hearin' this?" Ryoichi pointed over his shoulder behind him towards the crowd, who were screaming their lungs off at Iida's move that looked like something out of a comic.
"That's nice..." Iida smiled, before turning serious again "But this match isn't over yet!" He announced as he used his remaining seconds of recipro burst to rush Ryoichi again.
"Unfortunately, your quirk has many limitations" Ryoichi denounced as he put his arm out forward with an open palm.
"For example, you need to come within a close range to deal damage: Almighty Push"
A gravitational force sent Iida many metres back, nearly knocking him off the stage. Fortunately, he used his final second of recipro burst to resist and prevent being knocked off.
Unfortunately though...
"And that's game over. You put up a good fight though, once you train your quirk some more I'm sure you'd be a much scarier opponent to deal with" Ryoichi stated as he pushed Iida off the arena when he went it cooldown period from using recipro burst.
"AND THE WINNER HAS BEEN DECIDED LADIES AND GENTLEMENT: RYOICHI CHENEY MOVES ON!!" Present Mic announced.
"WOOOO" The crowd cheered, making sure to congratulate both Ryoichi and Iida for their fight.

The next match was Juvia vs Tokoyami.
While it was an entertaining fight that lasted a decent amount of time, Juvia ultimately won after she decided to use most of her strength and catching Tokoyami off guard.
The two walked back to the stands where the rest of the class were, excluding Kirishima and Bakugo who were about to fight.
"Good job, Juvia. You did well" Ryoichi congratulated as he pat her head Instinctively.
'Heh heh~' She smirked in ecstasy, "Of course, this amount of power is only normal after Juvia trained with Ryoichi the whole week" She replied after snapping out of her daydream.
Indeed, as Juvia had stated, during the week leading up to the sports festival, she had trained with Ryoichi after she had the confidence to go up to him and suggest it, which he gladfully accepted.
Their training was quite simple as it was only a week, but it consisted of gravity training, control training, and then some sparring.
As a result, not only did the two get stronger (Juvia a considerable amount while Ryoichi not as much), they also got closer during that time.
And let's just say... Juvia REALLY enjoyed spending that week with him, 'All sweaty... and hot... together...' She went into another perverted daydream as she remembered Ryoichi's sweaty, sexy body as a result from working out shirtless in 2x gravity.
Anyway, next up was Kirishima and Bakugo.
As one would expect, Bakugo overwhelmed Kirishima with his explosion onslaught. He lit up a good fight though.
"And with that, here are the semi-finals!" Midnight said as she revealed the next set of matches.
Ryoichi vs Todoroki
Juvia vs Bakugo
"Woah..." Class 1-A gasped as they saw the first match up.
"Who do you guys think will win?"
It was, arguably, the two strongest students in the class going up against each other. So it's obviously gonna spark a big debate between the students.
"I think Todoroki might win barely"
"Come on, it's obviously Ryoichi. We haven't even seen him go all out yet!"
"I agree with Kaminari" Many students agreed.

"Good luck, Todoroki" Ryoichi shook hands with Todoroki as they met in the middle of the arena before their fight.
"Good luck to you too, Ryoichi" Todoroki calmly replied.
As seat mates and being acquainted since the first day, Todoroki actually respected and found Ryoichi likeable compared to most of his other classmates.
'Should I...?' He glanced at his left hand as he walked back to his spot, but returned his attention to Ryoichi on the other side.
"Fighting in the semi-finals, on this side we have the hot and cold student: Shoto Todoroki!!" Midnight announced, "Facing him is the record-breaking student representative: Ryoichi Cheney!!"
'Are they gonna give us new nicknames every match?' Ryoichi thought as he glanced at Midnight on the side of the arena.
"LET'S NOT WASTE ANY TIME AS I'M SURE WE'RE ALL EAGER TO SEE THIS MATCH.
3...
2...
1...
FIGHTTTT!!" Present Mic rushed as he stood up from his chair to get a better view of the fight.
Even Aizawa would be lying if he said he wasn't interest in this current fight.
"You're strong, Ryoichi" Todoroki complimented as they both stood at a standstill "I also respect you as my closest classmate"
"Sheesh, harsh much? Thought we were friends buddy" Ryoichi puffed jokingly, to which Todoroki lightly smiled.
"Friend, huh?... I guess so, and as your friend, it's only right I go all out from the beginning!" Todoroki raised his voice as he shot out a fire blast.
"That's good. Maybe this'll warm me up a little" Ryoichi chuckled at his own joke as he dodged the blast, not expecting to see an ice sliding Todoroki flanking him from the side.
Activating his Gravity Knuckles, Ryoichi punched and shatted the ice spike that Todoroki fired.
Seeing how Todoroki was passively staying out of Ryoichi's punching range by remaining on his ice slide, Ryoichi smirked as he raised one arm above his head.
'Sorry, Cementoss sensei!' He thought as he bought the gravity knuckle'd fist down on the arena.
[Gravity Knuckle: Earthquake]!
A mini earthquake was produced, shaking the fighting arena heavily, whilst lightly shaking the crowd.
The arena pretty much shattered as a result of the punch, and a massive dust cloud formed before dissipating after a few seconds to reveal a dusty Todoroki.
"You and your over the top moves..." Todoroki shook his head.
"You can't say much, hahaha!" Ryoichi laughed.
Todoroki and Ryoichi glanced at each other and nodded a second later.
'Sorry, Cementoss!' They both thought as they both charged at each other, not wanting to waste any time and finish this match in one move.
When they were 2 metres away from each other, they screamed as they shouted their ultimate moves
"FLASHFREEZE HEATWAVE!!" The same move he used against Izuku, Todoroki was using it.
"GRAVITY KNUCKLE: QUAKE!!" With his fist reeled back, Ryoichi made his gravity knuckle even larger and more stronger before colliding with Todoroki's finisher.
*BOOM!~*
What looked and felt like a miniature nuke, a massive dust cloud covered the whole of the sports festival arena, causing many spectators to cough as the dust entered their throats.
"LET'S SEE WHO THE LAST MAN STANDING IS!!" Present Mic shouted as he anticipatedly waited to announce the winner.
Many seconds passed until the dust cloud went away, revealing...
An unconscious Todoroki with a broken arm, and Ryoichi who was covered in burns and a few ice patches, not forgetting to smile whilst soaking in his victory.
He raised his arm and posed with his fist raised high.
The following cheer might've broke the sound barrier as the crowd screamed and shouted in joy.
"WE HAVE OUR WINNER: RYOICHI CHENEYYY!!" Present Mic nearly broke his voice box with how loud he announced the result.

.
"That fight was radical, man!" Kirishima patted Ryoichi's back.
"Agreed, that fight was awesome!" Izuku supported.
"Hey, where's Iida?" Ryoichi asked, noticing he was missing even though he should've been here.
"He received a phone call, so I guess he's gone somewhere to answer it" Uraraka replied with a smile, ignoring the fact that Juvia was currently metaphorically stabbing her with her stare.
'Rival...!'

.
The next match was Juvia and Bakugo.
Though it was a long battle, it ended with an exhausted Bakugo losing to Juvia who encased him in her water lock and won by knocking Bakugo unconscious.
And so, the final was here...
Ryoichi Cheney vs Juvia Lockser
"Looks like we're having our rematch sooner than I thought, ay Juvia?" Ryoichi commented with a smirk as he looked down at Juvia.
(A/N: Don't think I've ever said what his height actually was, so I'll make him 5'10 aka same height as Rogue. Juvia is 5'5 btw)
Juvia looked up at Ryoichi, ignoring the dominating imagination that was flowing through her head as she said "Juvia is stronger compared to last time. Juvia hopes Ryoichi knows it won't be an easy match" She stated confidently, no hesitation in her eyes as she and Ryoichi began a mini staring competition.
"Alright guys, snap out of it. You still have to get ready" Mina said as she and Kirishima pulled them apart, ending their competition.

.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE FINAL IS HERE! GIVE ME A YEAHHH!!"
"YEAHHH!"
"DAMN RIGHT! FOR THE FINALS, ON ONE SIDE WE HAVE THE WATER BEAUTY, JUVIA LOCKSER" The crowd cheered, mainly the males.
"FACING HER WE HAVE THE HANDSOME AND STRONG GRAVITY STUDENT WHO'S DOMINATED THE WHOLE OF THE SPORTS FESTIVAL SO FAR: RYOICHI CHENEYYYY!!" Present Mic announced.
Similar to the prior matches, Ryoichi and Juvia met in the middle for a handshake before walking back in full concentration.
"3...
2...
1...
FIGHTTT!!"
