Chapter 51- a delusional god

"Again? What makes you think this time it will be different?" Luffy asked the roaring thunder clouds. And just as he expected, the amount of power the lightning carried was doubled. *BOOM*. It did nothing. The amount was doubled again, this time Luffy couldn't even speak. *BOOM*. Nothing again. *BOOM*. Still nothing.

Each time the lightning struck, its power doubled. "God, please stop! You're going to destroy the island and kill us!" The Skypiean prayed to Enel, hoping for salvation, as the island and their very lives were put at risk from the powerful lightning.

Luffy saw the Skypieans start to break and so he persisted to push them over the edge. "You are the most pathetic god I've seen. You don't even deserve the title of a god. You are nothing more than a weakling". Luffy didn't yell, but his words were heard louder than all of the thunders in the world. *Crackle crackle*, thunder clouds began to gather at an alarming rate. The Skypieans were frozen in terror, as they knew that this was their god's ultimate attack. And they knew that if that attack hits their island, they all will die.

"Stop! Please!" cries began to be heard louder than ever. "We are your loyal worshipers! Don't abandon us! We haven't wronged you!" they begged to no avail. "Your worshipers are begging you for salvation, Enel. If you want to prove your godhood, you need to answer them", Luffy said. And just on time, Enel finally appeared. His ego couldn't absorb such hits, and so he came out. "You dare to beg?! As my followers, you should be grateful to die at my hands! You bunch of worthless scum are not worthy of even this much, so shut up and die with this sinner!" Enel exclaimed as he put all of his power into his attack.

Thunder roared as the attack came down. Faced with their deaths, the Skypieans realized that their god didn't abandon them as he never even considered them as something worthy to be abandoned. He just saw them as trash. "Curse you, Enel!" The people shouted as the lightning fell. *BOOOOOOOOM*

They had accepted their death, and yet, nothing happened. "What took you so long?", a voice came from the center of the giant dust cloud. Luffy slowly walked out with a black, gooey, material covering him.

"What the hell is happening here?" A new voice was heard. A giant, also gooey, white ball with wings flew from between the clouds and landed beside Luffy. as soon as the ball landed, an array of people came out. "What did you do this time, Luffy?" Zoro asked as he looked at the terrified Skypieans and a shocked, horrified, ugly blond man with giant earlobes floating above them.

"Oh, you'll love to hear this. This man pretended to be a god for these people to fuel his godly ego, but even though he was their 'god', he thought of them like trash, killed them whenever he liked, and ruled them with terror and fear. He even tried to kill me with an attack strong enough to completely massacre every citizen here, and he then lectured them on how they aren't worthy of even that, and that they should be grateful to him for personally massacring them".

"Is that so?" Nami, who knew a similar situation, was especially furious at what was happening to the Skypieans. "Can we kill him already?" Law asked as he too had a traumatizing experience with selfish and neglectful rulers. "Not yet. Let him recuperate and amass his forces, then well crush him publicly". "You! You dare to announce that in MY presence?!" Enel couldn't believe Luffy just announced that in front of the great him. Katakuri looked at him coldly and said "We are giving you some extra time to live, be grateful, and do as our captain told you unless you want to die right now". "You will regret this, and I'll enjoy torturing you all personally!" Enel exclaimed as he flew away.

"What have you done?! You should have killed him while he was weak, now he'll come back to destroy us!" The Skypieans still had a deep-rooted fear of Enel's power. Even though they saw Luffy go unharmed from his strongest strike, they were still not fully convinced of their chances. "Don't worry, Enel and his force are pathetic. In fact, I won't even fight when Enel comes back with whatever pathetic force he has, my crew is more than enough for him" Luffy boldly said. "You won't fight? Are your men really enough?" The Skypieans were even more doubtful. "Just wait and see, I will not throw a single punch".

Hey guys, sorry about the short chapter, I thought it was a good place to end it since I am a cliffhanger-loving sadist plus I've been really sick these past few days. I took a COVID test but the results aren't back yet and it freaks me out even more. Anyway, hope you enjoyed.
