Chapter 49- A family visit

After the spar and talk with Issho, they exchanged Den Den Mushi contacts(?) and continued on their way. "Where are we sailing now?" Nami asked. "Well, someone has to inform Grandpa". Luffy smirked. "Please tell me we're not going to Marineford", Nami's face paled as she talked. "Of course we are. Set sail to Marineford!" Luffy announced loudly and confirmed Nami's fear.

"FLEET ADMIRAL!" a loud shout was heard as a vice admiral came storming into Sengoku's office. "Hum?" Garp looked at the Vice Admiral in curiosity as he ate his rice crackers while sitting in Sengoku's chair. "V-Vice Admiral Garp, do you know where's Sengoku? I have an urgent report". "Really? What's the report?" Garp asked while searching the plastic bag for any crackers he missed. "The Straw Hat pirates are heading this way, they'll arrive in a couple of hours!" The Vice Admiral Reported. "... Hahaha! Luffy's coming? I bet that brat has something interesting". Garp threw his plastic bag in the trash and began to walk but he suddenly stopped midway.

"Sengoku is in a meeting with the Five Elders, so it's best we don't bother him right?" Garp asked the panicking Vice Admiral with a smile. "B-But it's a Yonko that's coming, I get that he's your grandkid but Sengoku needs to be here", the Vice Admiral insisted. "But it's a VERY important meeting he's having, he can't just abandon the leaders of the World Government, now can he? And also there's no need to let Aokiji and the other Vice Admirals know, they are all very busy at the moment" Garp griped the Vice Admiral's shoulder and started to apply force. "Understood..." The Vice Admiral said in a depressed tone.

Silence... In the giant headquarters of the Marines, not a single sound was heard. A ship just docked in the Marineford harbor. A ship that no Marine wants to see. "Hello, can you tell me where Vice Admiral Garp's office is? I need to talk to him". A teenager with a straw hat, followed by a crew of strange individuals, asked the shocked Marines. "No one? Oh well, let's ask another group". Luffy said with a fake disappointed face as he tried his hardest not to burst out laughing. The Marines watched in shock as one of the Yonko just walked around like it was a normal day. 'I pity them', Katakuri thought. He never thought he would pity his enemies, but he could have never anticipated this situation!

Luffy and his crew continued to walk around, and Luffy continued to greet any Marine he saw, be it a normal soldier or a Vice Admiral. "STOP!" the liberating shout the terrified Marines waited for has finally arrived. A group of Vice Admirals stared at the Straw Hat crew. "Straw Hat Luffy! You are not welcome here! Begone or we will have to resort to violence". The leader of the group, a giant Vice Admiral, stated. "Oh I'm here to find my Grandpa! Do you know where his office is?" Luffy shouted to the giant, ignoring his threat.

"It's not a pirate's place to speak with a Vice Admiral", roared the giant, "you have no right to enter this place!". "Are... Are you serious?" Asked the bewildered Luffy, "I let it go the first time, but do you really think a bunch of Vice Admirals can lecture me? You didn't even bring Aokiji or Sengoku. Now drop the act and tell me where my Grandpa's office is before I send you back to Elbaf through the air".

The giant gulped as he realized he might have forgotten the difference in power due to being in his home base. "..." The giant was still prideful though, and he refused to talk. Just as Luffy was about to ask again a shout was heard.

"LUFFY!" a familiar voice was heard, and the Marine's faces lit up. How could they not be happy when the famous hero comes to save them. "Grandpa! I haven't seen you in ages!" Luffy cried back as he went to Garp. *BANG* a fist of love greeted Luffy as he arrived near Garp, but Luffy just smiled as Garp couldn't really hurt him anymore. "Huh? I think a bug landed on my head. Did you see anything, Grandpa?" Luffy innocently asked.

"Are you comparing my punches to bugs, you brat?" Garp asked. "I know, it's sad how you've become senile", Luffy said with a fake tear. "I'll show you senile!" Garp yelled as he covered his fist with haki, preparing to punch Luffy one again. "We're doomed, aren't we?" a Marine said while watching Garp chasing Luffy and wreaking havoc across Marineford.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So what did you want to talk about?" Garp said as he sat with Luffy in his office. "I want you to train a Marine that caught my eye", Luffy responded. "A Marine caught your eye? what's his name?" Garp's interest was piqued.

"He's a Rear Admiral and his name is Issho", Luffy replied. "Do you think I can track a Rear Admiral with only his first name? Tell me more" Garp said while pulling a rice crackers bag. "His devil fruit ability is to create and control gravitational forces" Luffy informed Garp. "Pffffft, WHAT? We had someone like that?!" Garp spit out the rice crackers as he was genuinely surprised. Someone having power over gravity is no small deal, and he couldn't believe someone with those abilities hasn't stood out yet. Though the devil fruit user could be so incompetent that even the power over gravity is not enough to help him, and in that case, it's just a waste of an excellent devil fruit.

"How's his combat abilities?" Garp asked while preparing for the worst. "As a matter of fact, they are very good. If you train him he could become an Admiral in less than a year", Luffy replied. "Hahaha what a treasure! I think you'll regret this after I'll make him a monster!" Garp announced in excitement. "I'll wait and see", Luffy said as he and his crew walked back to their ship.

"..." Sengoku looked in silence at the damaged Marineford. Though it wasn't really damaged, just a ruined building or two, he could not understand how it could have occurred. "Hey, you there! What happened here?" Sengoku asked a nearby Marine and after he heard the explanation he felt a huge headache coming. But before that, he needed to have a talk with someone. "GARP!" Sengoku yelled as a vain poped in his fourhead.
